I have just finished giving this article a large overhaul and I feel that I have improved it as much as I am able to myself without outside imput. I am particularly interested in any suggestions for section headings, as I am not very happy with my choices, and any advice on where a section I wasn't sure where to put should go (it is currently commented out). Improvments to the lead paragraph would also be appreciated. Ian Moody 13:21, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
- It almost seems like there almost too many section headings- in my experience, most people prefer sections in FACs to be longer than one paragraph. Perhaps they can be expanded, or specific sections merged?--Scimitar parley 20:01, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. None of the prose was divided into sections at all before so I think I went a bit overboard. I've merged the first two. Ian Moody 09:14, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- I think this article has a long way to go before it is FA material, if that's the goal here. About half the article is just listing who is in the band and describing the various membership reshufflings over the years. A lot of the rest is a blow-by-blow account of tour mishaps. Absent are any discussions of musical influences, musical style, critical reception, or impact the band has had. Sourcing it exclusively from the Band's messageboard also limits the potential of the article. The article should lean more on independent press coverage, rather than relying on sources under the subject's control.—Bunchofgrapes (talk) 18:47, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comments. FA isn't the goal (yet) but I have not had any experience of writing a good, large article and felt this would be the best way to get advice on improvments. Your suggestions for musical influences/style and critical reception sections are very helpful, and I have started work on them—though my average writing ability is making it difficult to convey my knowledge onto
