Wikipedia:Noted not notable
This is an essay on Wikipedia's concept of Notability. It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints. |
This page in a nutshell: The terms notable and notability were ill-chosen – we're really asking whether the topic is (or has been) noted, and inquiring into its notedness (for lack of a better term). |
When notability is asserted on Wikipedia, it really means reliable sources have "noted" the subject, which has become worthy of "note."
