Election results

edit

I served as election officer for this election.

Pre-printed ballots were provided listing everyone who had nominated themselves as candidates until the morning of the election. Dues-paying members of Wikimedia NYC were invited to take a ballot. There was an opportunity for those present to pay $5 to become a member. Immediately before the election there was a call for anyone present to nominate themselves as a candidate. No one did this. All candidates were invited to give statements. Candidates who were not physically present included Megs, Emjackson42, and Doctorxgc. Each of these candidates had a proxy speak on their behalf. There was a call for questions or comments. After this, the voting began. When everyone had voted I collected the ballots and counted the votes. All votes came from members in attendance and there were no proxy votes. 30 people were present. [clarification needed] This number included eligible voters who declined to vote, and their blank ballots were not counted. There were 25 people present. All completed ballots were valid. I did not vote myself. One other person chose to not vote, leaving 23 ballots. The candidates with the most votes were as follows:

  1. Pete Hess Becksguy
  2. Bob Kosovsky kosboot
  3. David Goodman DGG
  4. Ann Matsuuchi Mozucat
  5. Megan Wacha Megs
  6. Richard Knipel Pharos
  7. Alice Backer Aliceba
  8. Jim Henderson Jim.henderson
  9. Ira Matetsky Newyorkbrad
  10. Loren Koenig BlaueBlüte
  11. Katie Filbert Aude
  12. Ryan McGrady Rhododendrites

These candidates are now board officers of Wikimedia NYC serving a one-year term. There were no objections raised to the election process or to the outcome of the election at the event. After the election, it was proposed that officer positions from last term carry over until the board meets to vote again for officers. Thanks for candidates for volunteer to serve on the board and thanks to everyone who voted. Blue Rasberry (talk) 19:12, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Food tonight

Comments / feedback / suggestions about food and/or for food selection? Please let us know!

  • pizza / Russian pies, maybe
Russian pies would be different from the usual, and they look appetizing. Maybe something vegetarian also. - Becksguy (talk) 02:33, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
