Edit 1 - Changed the colors levels a bit to remove potential paper discoloration

- An off-white/cream paper is typical for prints such a these. The original maybe be a bit aged however. I uploaded an edit with the paper whiter than the original upload. --Torsodog^Talk 02:22, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  - Ukiyo-e uses white ink. (See Ryu sho ten below, where it's a little clearer because of a less tight crop). If it didn't use a coloured paper this wouldn't show. That said, the ink could stand to be whiter than in the original. Support edit. I'd even go a bit farther than that edit, if I were doing it.
