Background and recording

edit

Alesana wrote the entirety of Where Myth Fades to Legend's material while on the road.[4] The album was produced by Steve Evetts and recorded in Los Angeles, California.

Guitarists Shawn Milke and Patrick Thompson began writing the album's material by recording rough demos on acoustic guitar, which he referred to as the "skeletons" of the songs. Milke stated that the song structures and lyrics would go through several different "phases" before completion, with the rest of the band members adding their own contributions throughout the writing process.[5]

Reception

edit

AllMusic gave the album a negative review, criticizing the tracks as unmemorable, unoriginal and "cookie-cutter".[6]
