Veselin Vuković (Serbian Cyrillic: Веселин Вуковић; born 19 December 1958) is a Serbian handball coach and former player who competed for Yugoslavia in the 1984 Summer Olympics.

Club career
editBorn in Struga (PR Macedonia), Vuković moved with his family to Šabac (PR Serbia) at an early age. He started out at local club Metaloplastika, helping them win six Yugoslav Championships (1981–82, 1982–83, 1983–84, 1984–85, and 1985–86), four Yugoslav Cups (1979–80, 1982–83, 1983–84, and 1985–86), and two successive European Cups (1984–85 and 1985–86). In 1986, Vuković went abroad to Spain and spent four seasons with Atlético Madrid. He also briefly played for Helados Alacant, before joining European champions Barcelona in 1991.
International career
editAt international level, Vuković represented Yugoslavia at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, winning the gold medal. He was also a regular member of the team that won the 1986 World Championship in Switzerland.
Coaching career
editVuković served as an assistant to FR Yugoslavia head coach Veselin Vujović at the 2000 Summer Olympics.[1] He performed the same role for two years while Vujović was head coach of Serbia and Montenegro.
On 1 April 2010, Vuković was appointed as head coach for Serbia.[2] He led them to the final of the 2012 European Championship, which they lost to Denmark.
