Question from Al82237 (06:59, 23 August 2024)

edit

OK after a quite frustrating experience, last question from me: How do I remove my account? BR, Andre --Al82237 (talk) 06:59, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Al82237, you cannot delete your account (for copyright reasons), though for a similar process you can do Wikipedia:Courtesy vanishing. Zoozaz1 (talk) 07:42, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hm OK then abandoning seems to be the easiest option. Thanks a lot and good bye! Al82237 (talk) 07:59, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Beingherenow2 (18:28, 24 August 2024)

edit

Hello! I have been drafting an article on Brian Seeger, Professor of Jazz Studies, at University of New Orleans. It was declined several times when first submitted last March. I have edited and revised it and it is waiting for review. I would love to get your impressions and suggestions on it as it seems to be stalled out in the process. Thank you in advance! --Beingherenow2 (talk) 18:28, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Beingherenow2, looks good to me, especially since it passed the notability threshold, which is usually the hardest part. I would probably follow the comment that suggests deleting the performer credits, but it's up to you, probably not a big issue. Can't guarantee it will be approved of course, but looks good in terms of the NPOV/advertisement issues. Zoozaz1 (talk) 15:27, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you SO much for looking at it. It has been frustrating since it was reviewed several times when I first submitted it and then NOTHING! I know the review process is backed up and I am fighting the urge to keep editing it but with your comment, I will just wait patiently for another review with fingers crossed that it is finally accepted. A person undid my changes and stopped responding. Any suggestions? --Tchawla5 (talk) 22:55, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Tchawla5, it seems you received a response soon after you sent this message - in the future, perhaps make a post on the talk page of the article in question - Wikipedia is a volunteer project, so there is no obligation for editors to respond to messages. Question from Dr. Akhoury Onkar Nath (10:20, 14 September 2024)

edit

i want to create a page about myself where everything will be uploaded by my social media handling agency. Is it possible to do so? --Dr. Akhoury Onkar Nath (talk) 10:20, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Dr. Akhoury Onkar Nath, it might be possible, but there are two important conditions. Firstly, to be eligible for an article you must be WP:Notable, which means you have receieved significant coverage in reliable sources (such as newspapers). Secondly, they must disclose their payments by following the policy at WP:Paid. If they follow those guidelines, they can submit an article through WP:AFC. Zoozaz1 (talk) 11:55, 14 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Like source from news papers to create what ever i want to create and then what is this WP: Paid? I did not get your point. Dr. Akhoury Onkar Nath (talk) 10:31, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dr. Akhoury Onkar Nath, in the article you create, you must add sources that prove that you are notable, which means adding multiple reliable, independent sources with significant coverage of you. Secondly, you need to read through the article WP:Paid and follow the instructions listed there. Zoozaz1 (talk) 11:02, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Mosquito16 (01:04, 25 September 2024)

edit

How do I become "an established and registered user,"? --Mosquito16 (talk) 01:04, 25 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Mosquito16, you are a registered user since you created an account, I'm not sure what established means in this context. Our two main criteria for user experience are autoconfirmed and extended confirmed. Zoozaz1 (talk) 13:34, 25 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Sekhert (16:26, 28 September 2024)

edit

Hi Zoozaz1, I'm so glad to have help with editing in Wikipedia. I want to add Lorado Taft to the Beaux-Arts de Paris page under the "Notable alumni" heading. I realize the list is alphabetical, but can not figure out how to add to the list in the correct place. Here's a link to the pg. Thx in advance for your help! https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Beaux-Arts_de_Paris

Sekhert --Sekhert (talk) 16:26, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sekhert, Hi Sekhert, I've added Taft for you. Zoozaz1 (talk) 19:14, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks so much Zoozaz1.🎉🎉
Probably easier to do that yourself than to explain to a newbie how to do it.
You're the BEST!! Sekhert (talk) 19:53, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
