Bender article

Thanks for the shout out on the Project page and the review. I am going to try to be more active this year, both on improving articles and reviwing articles that others have worked on. I never really quit editting. Most of my work the last 4 years was WikiGnome stuff. Cheers...Cuprum17 (talk) 14:32, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

Possible Misspelling

While reviewing the article Dantzig Alley British Cemetery I came across a possible misspelling in the paragraph "Foundation". In the last sentence is the word "Areoplane" possibly a misspelling of the word "Aeroplane"? I am not familiar enough with French geography to determine an accurate understanding. I will go ahead with an assessment and leave the question of possible misspelling for you to answer. Cuprum17 (talk) 13:41, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Further decorations

Per this, are you interested in adding the Croix de Guerre (1939-1945) and the DFC (US) to his gongs? Moriori (talk) 01:42, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Thanks - I mention both of those awards in the article body but didn't include the text of the citation since they were not published in the London Gazette. I could put the text of the recommendations for the US/French awards in but I intend to take this article for A-Class review at Milhist and the sourcing is looked at pretty closely there. I'm not sure that this website would be considered a reliable source for the recommendations. I'll have look to see if I can find a more reliable source. Libraries are opening up tomorrow for level 2 lockdown and I can think of a couple of books there that I could use for citing the recommendations. I will scope them out next time I'm in town.  Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:29, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Alan Peart

Hi,

Thanks for your message. I am new to Wiki editing as you will have seen and note your comments re his auto-biography as the main source and tone used. I wanted to add more detail to his page which was thread-bare when I first saw it. I do have his auto-biography but I also have several other sources, including several military history books, scans of his flight log book as well as 4.5hrs of audio interview from the late 90's. These recordings have been passed to me by the interviewer with permission to use for any non-profit positive use, such as Wiki. I am still in the process of transcribing them and working out the best use of them. I have other books on order which will also help.

My goal is to provide a detailed account of Alan Peart's WW2 experiences from his training, active service and some post-war information. Hopefully you will see a wider range of references over the next few weeks. I work full time but intend to spend some time over the Christmas holidays editing the page.

Thanks - Drew Brown --DrewBrown37 (talk) 13:14, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi DrewBrown37, regarding sources, I suggest reviewing [Wikipedia:Reliable sources]. That explains what is acceptable and what isn't. It is important that all information in an article is verifiable by others. This may mean that you aren't able to use log books (unless they have been placed online). Cheers, Zawed (talk) 20:58, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Kurt Wolff (aviator)

Hello, Zawed,

Looks like a ton of useful suggestions on the review. I anticipate dealing with these items as quickly as possible, but I now have three GANs being reviewed simultaneously, so I may need more time.Georgejdorner (talk) 16:24, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

No problem. I am the reviewer for the other two of your articles, and will get to those shortly. Zawed (talk) 20:55, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
You don't have to be in that much of a rush. I doubt I can finish any single nomination in a week.Georgejdorner (talk)
Just a nudge here. I am awaiting your further review.Georgejdorner (talk) 17:21, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the nudge - I've been slammed at work for the past few days before the Xmas holiday kicks in. Down here, we normally take close to two weeks off over the Xmas/New Year period, and I'm taking an extra couple of weeks this year so had to majorly clear the decks. From a quick glance, this article is looking in good shape but I will have a closer look after Xmas Day, while I digest my food. Zawed (talk) 10:42, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
Actually, I didn't anticipate any answers from you until next year. Enjoy!
Though I did answer your latest suggestions on Kurt Wolff (aviator).Georgejdorner (talk) 02:24, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Yo Ho Ho

Thanks and the same to you! Cheers, Zawed (talk) 10:43, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
