Wikipedia and copyright

Hello York House School, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to York House School have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
• In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
• Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. Hi York House School. If you are the Communication Manager of York House School as you stated this user talk page post, then you would be subject to not only Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, but also to Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure with respect to anything written about the school on Wikipedia. This applies to you as a person regardless of which username you choose for your account or regardless of how many accounts you create to edit. The same also applies to any other school employees or representatives which might wish to edit or create content about the school on Wikipedia. Wikipedia doesn't expressly forbid COI editing, but it does highly discourage it and strongly advises all such editors to follow the guideline listed in Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Wikipedia does, however, prohibit undeclared paid or otherwise compensated editing; doing so is a violation of the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and can lead to an account being blocked (even without warning) by a Wikipedia administrator. As long as COI/Paid editors follow relevant problems and guidelines, they should have no problems with others. So, my suggestion to you would be to refrain from directly editing/creating any article content about the school (except perhaps in some of the examples given in WP:COIADVICE) and instead follow WP:PSCOI#Steps for engagement if you want to propose changes/correction be made to the article.

You need to try and understand per Wikipedia:Ownership of content that neither the school nor anyone associated with it has any final editorial control over article content; in other words, it is not the school's Wikipedia article, but a Wikipedia article written about the school. As Communication Manager you may have some or complete control over the school's official website or social media accounts, etc., but that doesn't extend to Wikipedia in anyway. Article content is required to be in accordance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and content which is not can be removed at any time by any editor; moreover, any disagreements over content between editors are expected to be resolved per Wikipedia:Dispute resolution by establishing a Wikipedia:Consensus.

Finally, please be advised that Wikipedia doesn't allow accounts to be shared among multiple users; you appear to be currently be sorting out the issues with your username, but you should be the only person using this account. Account suspected of being used by multiple individuals may be considered to be comprised and thus indefinitely blocked as a precaution. So, if anyone else at your school wants to propose changes to the article, please ask them to create their own account.

• Precisely the problem with the article is that 'All the information is from our website (York House School)' - the kind of promotional claims made on the school's website are strictly disallowed here on Wikipedia and have been removed. Also, the onus is on contributors to familiarise themselves with Wikiedia's policies and guidelines - which you as a Communications Manager should have no difficulty in understanding. Hi again York House School. It's going to take an administrator to unblock your account and a global renamer to change your name. I'm neither and I'm not sure if all admins are global renamers or vice versa. It usually doesn't take too long unless there's a problem with the "new" username (i.e. it violates WP:IU or something else); so, please be patient and perhaps it will happen sometime soon. I'll ping the admin Cullen328 who blocked the account; maybe he can give you more specific information. Finally, I restored the section heading to this thread; for some reason, you added your signature before the heading which caused some problems with the heading's formatting. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
