Hi I just resubmitted the Aikido article for Featured article status. Appreciate it, based on your previous help, if you could take a look.Peter Rehse 08:22, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, lets hope its not a permanent thing - we need more featured articles, and you just keep delivering. Hope to see you back on the 20th. Cheers -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:44, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nah, dont feel bad. Your concerns are valid. tell you what - I'll remove them from DYk selection (so please dont bombard them with comments), mop them up, and resubmit when they have been fixed, or, if I cant seem to get some good refs, I'll just forget DYK. I realise I was going quickly, and I'm not really sure why - I guess it was to keep up: I wasnt writing much in July, so I tried to keep up with my own standard. Thanks for noticing -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:01, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Your comment was pretty loaded to be honest. it would help greatly if you could sort of tell me an order of what needs the most attention and fixes. Also - how is Bonaparte inaccurate? Being specific there would help. Cheers -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:10, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Right. Now I should be able to work through things systematically:
  1. Bonaparte Crossing the Alps - more detail about Delaroche, fix inaccuracies.
  2. Brig "Mercury" Attacked by Two Turkish Ships - The Battle, general fixes (by the way - the rocks are on the left and right edges, and under the water at the bottom right. Am I right, or am I just seeing rocks where there is some strange brown colouring..?)
  3. Wanderer above the Sea of Fog - remove personal analysis (most of that actually was sourced, by source is probably POV - see if I can find something better; if can't - major trim)

Also note: You havent commented on either The Great Day of His Wrath or Colonel Acland and Lord Sydney: The Archers - any probs there? -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:35, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I'll remove rock detail. I should have finished this by tomorrow - I've decided not to create anything more until these are sorted. I assume it should be ok if I let you know when I think they are up to snuff so you can have another look? Thanks -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 11:48, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hmmm - a potential FA? Looking at the ext. link you gave me, you could be right. But I wont work on it until I've fixed up the others. Cheers -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 21:28, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done a bit of cleaning up - Brig now has a concise 'Historical background' section (but, I'm wondering - should I have an 'Analysis' section, giving some uncontroversial detail?), and I have reworded wanderer a bit, and trimmed my own analysis a bit. A question: you comment and give me a background on Bonaparte, but is there actually anything wrong with the article, before I make improvements? Cheers -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 02:59, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also - I'm having a problem seeing how Brig could become a GA or Archers an FA - there just aren't enough sources. I'm assuming here, that you have quite a large collection of books. Do you know if you have any about either the artists or paintings of Brig or Archers? I will go to my library, of course, but, if you did have any useful book sources, it would be most helpful if you could take a quick look into your collection or whatever, or wherever you get all of your books. This is, of course, after you finish moving into your new house and have settled in and whatever else, and if you have the time or the will to do it. Cheers -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 03:07, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bonaparte Crossing the Alps - now that, considering my changes, really could gt to FA, and soon. What do you think of it now? -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 16:46, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Thanks anyway. While you are on - have you looked at the art articles you asked me to improve? They all made DYK, but your opinion here is highly valued. Thanks. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 00:16, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

On August 8, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Castor and Pollux (elephants), which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Hello yomangani. I do wonder whether you sense the presence of a recently departed friend in the air? Blnguyen (bananabucket) 05:34, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can't think of a better place to take a break than under the branches of a blooming Jacaranda; I hope your move keeps you close to such beauty, and you're back on Wiki churning out our best content soon. Kindest regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 16:56, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bird lists

edit

Greetings. I noticed you have made A LOT of bird lists, and I am thinking about creating a template to help some. I made a couple of these lists awhile ago too. The use of the template would be that we could have the bird-family heading descriptions in one place so that they can all be consistent and changed easily. A single template could house the whole thing in the form {{birdlistheadings |family=Procellariidae |area=Chile |count=36}}. I think area and count would be optional; they would produce "there are 75 species worldwide and 36 species which occur in Chile", if desired. What do you think? -- Basar (talk · contribs) 22:12, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Flavian Amphitheatre

edit

Hello, I was thinking along the same lines. If I go ahead and change the whole article I'd be imposing my views, which is not a good thing. I'll sum up my arguments for an oppose at the FAC page. Hopefully more reviewers will come along and weigh in. I see that you're fed up with some things at wiki, is this one of those? I'd be very sorry if the answer is yes. Greetings, --Victor12 00:20, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good to know. Hope it all goes well for you now. Good luck, --Victor12 17:45, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is really starting to look FA-able. What do you say? Can you give any advice on where I need to make things better/bigger? I'd be infinitely grateful. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 18:25, 11 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've seen your message left on my chinese user page. I am sorry for did't reply you because of my 7-days travelling. The article has become more accurate than it used to be. Oh, I agree it needs work. I'm saying it is FA-able - ie. it has potential. Thanks for your further comments. I will look at each of them sometime soon and do what I can towards improving the article based on what you've said. Thanks. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 21:15, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

St.Phillip Neri church bombing

edit

Hello Yomangani

As you helped solve problems at another article written by me, I feel that I should send St.Phillip Neri church bombing through your neutral eye. Be Bold and let me know any problems with the article that you might not be able to fix. Thanks Watchdogb 14:21, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have put an request for this article to be DYKed. Thanks Watchdogb 14:31, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm not really editing at the moment. If you've put it up for DYK I'm sure it will be examined by somebody. Yomanganitalk 17:35, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. Sorry I didn't know that you were not editing. Thanks for the reply though :) Watchdogb 17:00, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Greece

Hi! How are you?

I am almost ready to submit this article for FAC, after the ongoing peer-review is over. Would you like to have a look, and possibly copy-edit it? Excellent copy-edits have been already made by Ceoil and Awadewit (maybe not much left to do by you!), but another look could be helpful, because I have re-edited some parts of the article after these indeed exquisite copyedits.--Yannismarou 11:09, 9 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
