editI probably should have ctrl+f'd the word "lawsuit" before I went ahead and did all that. Sorry! Mister Deranged 00:34, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Weasel words
editI honestly don't remember putting that up, but I looked at it and noticed a lot of "some say this" and "some believe that"s. That's why I put it up, I guess. That was probably a long time ago. Just to clear that up. ForestAngel 08:56, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Ahh, just wondering. I am a personal fan of HIM (more like obsessed) which is the only reason I would try to edit and improve it, since it means alot to me for people to get accurate information. Well anyhow thanks for your contributions, you are def one of the more appreciated people who work on it, and you contribute the most. --NekoD 21:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

editErr, the whole thing wasn't vandalism, just the flute part. Must've been thinking of the wrong word.
Nevermind, when I reverted it the vandalism from the previous edit was remade, so I must've been thinking of that when I typed in a summary. Ambrosia- 21:57, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:MusicSlipknotLogo.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:MusicSlipknotLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 22:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

HAVEN'T U LISTEN TO THREE NIL, DUALITY, THE BLISTER EXIST??????? GREAT MUSIC COMBINATIONS... THERE IS A GREAT BACKGROUND BY D.J.IN "THREE NIL" AND NO DOUBT FOR THE DRUM BEAT.. GREAT HEAD BANGING RIFFs.. ONCE U HEARD THEM I BET U, U WILL BE THE FAN OF SLIPKNOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Slipknot page
editTake a look at my comment there. I believe I proved a valid point, even if the information is invalid.
Correct.
editMTV has proven itself unreliable by calling Slipknot Death Metal and making up a genre such as Melodic Death Metalcore. It wasn't really my goal -- my goal was to abolish the thought that somehow reliable sources actually exist... They don't. Wikipedia's reliable sources are flawed because they come from human writers' opinions and thus can sound the way they want, do what they want, etc. It's all opinion. It's pointless to discount opinion for "credible sources" that DO NOT rely on the facts.
Slipknot is not heavy metal. This is proven by the fact that they do not meet many of the qualifications for the genre even as said in Wikipedia's own Heavy Metal article. Don't you think it would be confusing for someone to see "Heavy Metal" defined clearly and then going to an article such as Slipknot only to see heavy metal's definition being ripped apart?
There is no such thing as Melodic Death Metalcore. I've seen a lot of dumb genres, but this one takes the cake. It's undeniably false, and non-existent.
I believe MTV has proved itself unreliable, if anything.
-Nonviolence 17:29, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, you have some points, and yeah, I meant operatic, not orchestral. :P But Slipknot is still more closely related to hardcore, as you can see how I explained on my last.fm link which is also heavily critical of Metal: a Headbanger's Journey. Food for thought, brotha. -Nonviolence 22:12, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- I am an expert on both hardcore and metal, since I've liked them both pretty steady since 2005, and even back when I liked Slipknot I realized they didn't fit the bill of metal. Most of headbanger's journey was good.. Like the interview where a member of Gorgoroth pauses for fifteen or so seconds and answers "Satan". It was good, but Slipknot's inclusion over deserving non-mainstream non-sellout bands like Morbid Angel, Death, and Bolt Thrower really discredited everything and made it seem like a general MTV produced and funded movie with continuity errors. Regardless, the thrash moments were awesome (my favorite genre) as well as the black metal ones (my second favorite)... -Nonviolence 00:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Slipknots Genre
editSlipknot isn't nu-metal, they're just metal...people shouldn't classify bands, they should get to do it themselves...and Slipknot did, they call themselves metal so respect it and shut the fuck up.
Can you please change their genre to METAL, they are not Rapcore or that other bullshit.
Thank you.
Travis - Outsidethenine Member.
Im pretty sure, when Slipknot (the band) says and considers themselves Metal, noone can tell them otherwise and correct me if I am wrong but isn't Slipknot a reliable source?
Then can you please show me where Slipknot is classified as "Rapcore"(genre doesn't even exist) Thanks!
The above is all from ItWasTravis
Slipknot is classed as Rapcore in Rhapsody/realoneline site. but i wouldn't put it as a reliable source. Just like as AMG-site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Talvimiekka (talk • contribs) 15:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Slipknot GAC
editI just posted this on Rezter's talk page, and in Slipknot's talk page, but I thought you'd do well to receive this too.
You've recently nominated Slipknot as a good article, but I don't think that in its current state, it stands much of a chance. I'm not going to pass or fail it or anything, but there are some changes you definitely need to make. You can see the changes I've made to it, which are mainly just quick fixes. However, you have a few other issues to address.
- The injuries section is straight up WP:TRIVIA, which will probably get you nowhere. I saw a raw external link somewhere, which is most of the time a no-no.
- The bolding of the collaborators goes against Wikipedia style.
- Look at references 26 and 27.
- Any references to websites should be done using {{citeweb}} templates, which I can see isn't consistent.
A dick of a reviewer might quick-fail the article on these points, but I'm just going to bring them to your attention so you stand a chance. Seegoon 12:34, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Dark Lunacy
editAn editor has nominated Dark Lunacy, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dark Lunacy and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:14, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
