Hi David. Thanks for this help. I have read all of these articles. I tried to type in <ref name = MH> followed by the citation details as you instructed me. Unfortunately, the first citation as well as the second were deleted entirely from the article and all the other citations seemed to have shifted. How can I revert it back? Also, I cannot get the chat feature to work. It would really help me if I could chat with someone who could help me. When the chat window opens I cannot type into the blank field. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wayner27 (talkcontribs) 20:39, 2 May 2014‎ (UTC)Reply
Was this what you were trying to do with the references? Note that your message wasn't properly displayed (or properly signed) because you'd included the string <ref name = MH> in your question without putting it between nowiki tags. The chat system isn't something which I use. --David Biddulph (talk) 21:00, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
The problem was that you didn't modify the original <ref> tag, but added a second one, so that the result looked something like this: <ref name = MH><ref>...</ref> Thus you had an opening <ref> tag without a corresponding closing tag, and content was wrongly interpreted as part of a footnote that shouldn't have been. The rest seems resolved via IRC. Huon (talk) 21:58, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Huon. You have been so helpful and I really appreciate it! I removed the "genius of her technique" phrase. I am going to try now to thank the person who made the changes to my submission. If you get the chance to thank them, could you please do so on my behalf? Do I have to re-submit my article now that it has been revised? Wayner27 (talk) 22:14, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
There's no need to re-submit the draft as long as there's still a "review waiting" message on the page - then it's correctly submitted for review, no matter what any other messageboxes may claim. (That there is also a "not currently submitetd" message box at the same time is bad web design on Wikipedia's part.) Huon (talk) 23:21, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

-- Thank you Lixxx235. If you could, please confirm that you received this note of thanks. The Wikipedia talking/reading/editing process is very non-intuitive to me and I never quite sure that I've done anything correctly. Thanks again. Wayner27 (talk) 13:34, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the note! If you'd like more help with getting started with Wikipedia, I'd be happy to help, or you can look into programs like adopt a user or you can go to the help desk. Thanks, Lixxx235Got a complaint? 14:10, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. That means a lot to me. I will let you know if I need any help. Wayner27 (talk) 17:35, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Lixxx235. There is a box at the top of the page of the article that I wrote about Zena Rommett containing suggestions to improve the article. Specifically, the suggestions are that section headings be created and that links be incorporated to and from the article. Yesterday I created section headings. I also linked another Wikipedia article to the Zena Rommett article and linked subjects in the Zena Rommett article to their respective Wikipedia articles. Do you know why the box with suggestions still appears at the top of the Zena Rommett article? Do I have to submit the revised article somewhere? Thanks. Wayner27 (talk) 14:39, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
