Speedy deletion nomination of VGNair

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on VGNair requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.   Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at VGNair. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you.   Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with VGNair. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 09:13, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

edit

Please help me with... My post deletion.I posted in wiki on "VGNair" I wanted to say exceptional contributions by VGNair in the honey bees world, his initiatives in mitigating bee decline and efforts in having more bees. The article was presumably deleted with the feeling it is a self biography which it was not.

I would like to know how the content can be re posted or freshly posted with a heading like 'VGNair as an exceptional bee enthusiast' or 'A bee enthusiast" Is that possible or is that such articles are not permitted in Wikipedia?

You might want to read the article on autobiographies (Wikipedia:Autobiography). In a nutshell:

We have biographies here, not autobiographies. Avoid writing or editing an article about yourself, other than to correct unambiguous errors of fact.

What you could do instead is make those sort of edits or articles on your own user page: User:Vgnair. When you do, please stay mindful of the guidelines on user pages: Wikipedia:User pages. You can add autobiographical and personal content there, but try to keep it limited (for example mention that you like bees, and talk a little about your efforts in bee conservation). —Hexafluoride Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk 11:44, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Topics must be notable, as Wikipedia defines notability, to be considered worthy of inclusion. The general rule is that articles generally require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. There are also specific criteria for articles about people, and in particular living persons.
Also, if you are not VGNair himself (because I see you referring to him in the third person), you should not edit under a username that is some other person's name. From Wikipedia's username policy:
Do not edit under a name that is likely to imply that you are (or are related to) a specific, identifiable person, unless it is your real name. If you have the same name as a well-known person to whom you are unrelated, and are using your real name, you should state clearly on your userpage that you are unrelated to the well-known person.
If a name is used that implies that the user is (or is related to) a specific, identifiable person, the account may sometimes be blocked as a precaution against damaging impersonation, until proof of identity is provided.
You may wish to consult Wikipedia:Your first article for further guidance on composing an article. Good luck. --Drm310 (talk) 14:13, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
