Hello Btspurplegalaxy again. Sorry to bother you again but I have a question that I'm both curious and confused about. On the article All Eyes on Me (Jisoo song), I had added "K-pop" to the genres under the Quick Facts box, but it got removed 2 times by two different people; you can find these edits at the top of the revision history, as it's still new changes as if typing this. Is there a more specific response for this? Tonkarooson (talk) 01:26, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The only reason why it was removed was because K-Pop isn't a music genre. Btspurplegalaxy 💬 🖊️ 13:27, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think K-Pop is a genre; there are other things that make sense that say it isn't a genre. What makes it not a music genre to Wikipedia? Tonkarooson (talk) 10:14, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Special interest (Autism) moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Special interest (autism). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because It needs to be written in encyclopedic language (see WP:EPSTYLE) and the claims made should be sourced to reliable sources (see WP:RS, WP:REFB). I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Usedtobecool ☎️ 03:07, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for doing that for me. I do have one question. Is LinkedIn a reliable source? Tonkarooson (talk) 03:12, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
It is rarely, if ever, a reliable source. In this case, it was not. Worse, it was spam for a paid service. — Usedtobecool ☎️ 03:16, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, most of the content had to be removed. See the history page for why[1]. I have notified the main article at Talk:Autism spectrum#Draft:Special interest (autism). — Usedtobecool ☎️ 03:15, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh jeez, I didn't know it was like spam! Thank you for letting me know. I am comfortable to the article to be removed, I have another way to see my original text. Is there a way you could give me a small-medium sized list of reliable sources?? Tonkarooson (talk) 03:25, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Generally, refer to WP:RSP. Medical claims require even better sources per WP:MEDRS, so you may want to not make medical claims at all, if you can help it, before you gain more experience with identifying reliable sources. Best, — Usedtobecool ☎️ 04:21, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I don't think there is enough on this topic to justify a separate article. Perhaps a concise description can be added to the Other features section of the Autism article - as long as you can include a reference or references that describe what you mean by Special interest. David notMD (talk) 10:33, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you agree, you can request that the draft be deleted by putting Db-author at the top, inside double curly brackets {{ }}. Otherwise, if no changes made, in five months you will get a talk message that the draft will be deleted at six months. David notMD (talk) 10:36, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
If you are saying I should have a sub heading on the original Article, I think it will too big seeing how much I want to add on that topic. What does "other features" supposed to mean exactly? (No hate, I like clarification). Tonkarooson (talk) 20:27, 30 April 2024 (UTC) Tonkarooson (talk) 20:27, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
At least I have time to improve it. This is a lot of helpful info and advice, thank you all of it Guys
I hope I can get lots better and I could get Remembered.
Again, thanks for all the help from everyone on any type of talk page possible 🫰🏼 :D take care now! Tonkarooson (talk) 20:41, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Photos

edit

At a simple level, you can take a photograph, add it to Wikipedia Commons, then add it to an article. Even that can get tricky. I took a photograph of a work of art. Because the art was copyright protected, my photo was rejected at Commons. Going forward, I hope you find rewarding ways to contribute to Wikipedia. A recommended path is to start with efforts to improve existing articles before another attempt at creating an article. David notMD (talk) 10:42, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I agree that I should start with something smaller, but I am still going to try to make my original article better with better sources and better vocabulary. I also appreciate all the help I'm getting from so many different people! Thank you everyone, it is so helpful! :D Tonkarooson (talk) 20:33, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I have seen that you have removed K-pop on my edits and I believe that K-Pop is a genre, I think there are good reasons to back this up that may show that K-Pop is a Genre. If there is a policy/guideline that does not label K-Pop as a musical genre, I would like to know this guideline. Thank you. Tonkarooson (talk) 22:54, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Bare URLS

edit

Hi Tonkarooson! Thanks for the work you've been doing on the special interest article :D I noticed you left some references as bare URLS. In the visual editor, if you use the automatic citation tool, or click "convert" after putting the link in manually, it will automatically turn it into a full citation for you. -- NotCharizard 🗨 11:15, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome :D (I love this emoticon!)
I just read the bare URLs website and will try my best to use better formatted citations. Just one itty bitty problem about this: I only have been editing on my iPad and my iPhone Pro Max, which uses the source editor that doesn't have that pop up when you type out the "{{". Is there a list of the different types citation templates? Tonkarooson (talk) *new editor* 02:31, 23 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I see. I don't really know much about citing with code because I always just do it automatically! Do you mean on the app? I find the app really difficult for editing (it seems to be designed mostly for reading stuff) so I usually just do it in safari. When I go to edit on my phone (iPhone X) in safari, it has an options for both the visual and source editors on the mobile view of the website.
WP:SMARTPHONE has more info on iPads because I don't know much about them. You could try requesting the desktop view in your mobile browser and that might work. -- NotCharizard 🗨 04:03, 23 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I can't edit on Safari because of iCloud private relay. I do have a PC and will edit on there when I start a bigger project. Tonkarooson (talk) *new editor* 04:11, 23 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

May 2024: Please only add sourced genres

edit

Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres, as you did to Fe!n, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. Ss112 08:10, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

That edit was not from my own view. If you listen to Playboi Carti's part in Fe!n, you can easily tell that the vocals are incoherent and mumbly. There is a genre for this, it is called "Mumble rap". I have added the genre to Fe!n again and with a reference this time. Tonkarooson (talk) *new editor* 10:45, 26 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

About your recent edit history

edit

Hi, regarding your recent edit history, it appears to be vandalism despite being in good faith because your edits are neither sourced nor necessary. Additionally, just because a group or solo artist is Korean, it is NOT enough to label their release as 'K-pop'. Music genres should be based on the style and content of the music, not merely the nationality of the artists. Mislabeling can mislead readers and diminish the accuracy of the information. Therefore, please refrain from making such edits without proper sources and justification. Lililolol (talk) 20:03, 26 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
