Hell's Heroes

edit

I belive that the Deletation for Hell's Heroes (novel) was un nessesary because it is announced that it will be released next Autumn. And according to the Wikipedia WP:CRYSTAL, this is not a topic that should be deleted. If you could revert it back to place, i'd greatly appreciate it.

>:O Katsuuu!! (talk) 04:11, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Actually, WP:CRYSTAL is not the best argumentation. WP:NFF is better, if you apply the same guidelines as for future films. I'd prefer to wait the book to be released and then restore the article, the deleted version was in a poor shape as well. Greetings. --Tone 08:27, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Meniskus speedy delete

edit

Hi Tone, I have worked on the Meniskus band entry (my first entry here) and wondered if you'd have time to review it and let me know if it's now suitable for publication. Thanks again for your guidance! Webmanos (talk) 20:11, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I see you have improved the article considerably. I just have some more remarks, you should not include external hyperlinks in the text and try to convert some of the external links into references (such as album review). There are too many of them. Good luck! --Tone 20:17, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Tone! I'll keep working on it. I appreciate you taking the time to review and guide me on this. Webmanos (talk) 20:45, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Claim in ITN

edit

True, but a study that proves conclusively that the Antarctic is melting because of us? That puts a whole bunch of theories out the window. I meant claim the same way I mean it when I say "I claim the sky is blue". Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 09:13, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh, nevermind. I read your edit on the candidates page and I understand what you mean. Reworded to "A study by the Climatic Research Unit uncovers conclusive evidence of human involvement in climate change in Antarctica." Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 09:15, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

Why cut off your nose to spite your face? It's a good piece for ITN, just that Wikipedia can't do more than report what it claims; it's POV for us to seem to agree with its findings. --Dweller (talk) 11:36, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am probably overreacting but I really don't like words like claim in the ITN box. Anyway, if there is a source for The Climatic Research Unit is ... a leading institution concerned with the study of natural and anthropogenic climate change. I will be fine with it. But, isn't the big institution here IPCC? Just want to check. --Tone 13:22, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
No idea re the institution, but surely any report of a scientific report of this nature will always be a claim, as that's the nature (pun unintended) of science - theories, supported by evidence is as best it can do. --Dweller (talk) 14:48, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I actually agree with Dweller here; we have claims in ITN all the time. Hell, we don't know how many people died in Earthquake A; we only know what news sources claim. What's next? "Earthquake in Szichuan claimed to have killed 200"? Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 16:18, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I see there is a debate at ITn/C already, no point in iterating it here. I see I am not the only one who has issues with this post. --Tone 22:00, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Project Offset and Offset Software

edit

Why was this Project Offset article deleted?. --SkyWalker (talk) 16:02, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

How you came to the conclusion that the page was "blatant advertising" is beyond me. I must lack the lose grip on reality which you seem to grasp at. I have sometimes questioned myself why I left this place, and it is people like you who remind me. Congratulations on removing yet another article which does not adhere to your standard of acceptance. Havok (T/C/e/c) 19:23, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I suppose this two are connected so a single answer. After rechecking, I consider reasonable to restore the company article and send it to afd instead. It has issues regarding the notability and sources. Regarding the game, it has little actual info and it has not yet been released, so I have WP:CRYSTAL problem here. If you disagree, feel free to take it to a deletion review. Greetings. --Tone 21:56, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
(By the way, the reason for deletion was a db-spam tag).--Tone 22:03, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
My question is did you simply delete Project Offset because it fails Crystal?. If so half of the gaming article fails WP:Crystal. Are you going to delete all of them?. Who add the deletion tag or did you simply delete them?. If so you have violates admin tools. Please restore the article at one. Project Offset is a notable game. --SkyWalker (talk) 03:56, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I deleted the article because it was tagged db-spam. The tag was added by another user. Regarding the game being notable, I shomehow don't see how a game that wasn't even released yet and with so little facts known can be notable, apart from a leaked trailer. Hence, Crystal. I would prefer youatke the article to WP:DRV instead, if you want to have it restored. Greetings. --Tone 10:20, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
The trailer is hardly leaked as it is released by the company. The company was also featured on a notable TV show where they showed of the engine they are working on, and they have a deal with Intel. Crystal defines products, games, music etc. that has _no_ information available other then pure speculation. Not said terms when it comes to things that actually have a status of being in production. If so, most articles in regards to coming events would be deemed crystal ball-ing in WP's eyes. Havok (T/C/e/c) 15:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Tone,

YOu have deleted an entry Abhaswaras. No doubt, this inforamtion is not used by many people, that does not mean that it should be deleted from an encyclopaedia, right?>

Please reinstate it. You can edit it if you think the presentation requires modification, in consultation with me.

Hi. The article was deleted in a prod process. Since you object, I will restore it. Since I am not very familiar with the topic, I would prefer you improve it. Also, since there are few articles that link to this one, you may want to take care of that as well. Geretings. --Tone 14:09, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Tone,

Thanks a lot for reinstatement. There is not much information available on this topic but the entry is found in the encyclopaedia on HInduism by Dowson, which is an important source. However, I will try to improve it in the next few days.

ProQuake

edit

Hello, you have deleted the ProQuake page. This is one of the most important Quake modifications in the gaming community, significant for it's ongoing continuation of a very significant ten year old game, and significant in it's being a de facto standard for contemporary Quake 1 play. Could you restore the article please, or explain how you see it not being significant. Thank you 212.56.88.63 (talk) 21:25, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The article was deleted in the prod process. Since you object, I will restore the article (standard procedure). However, since the article was tagged by two users, I'll send it through afd (standard procedure as well). The bigghes problem is third party sources. If you can fix that, I am sure there will be no problems with keeping it. Greetings. --Tone 21:31, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gordano Messaging Suite delete

edit

Hi Tone!

The article for Gordano Messaging Suite was deleted as blatant advertising, yet articles for Scalix, Exhange server and Zimbra all remain.

The content of the Gordano Messaging Suite article was not substantively different to the Scalix one, so why does that one remain, or why was the Gordano Messaging Suite article singled out for deletion?

Thanks!

Dob78 (talk) 11:36, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Most of the article was indeed written in advertising style. Thus, deletion. The articles you mention are not an excellent example of non-advertising prose, really ;-) If they exist, this may be because nobody has tagged them yet. Greetings. --Tone 12:49, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tone, I don't understand your reply. You seem to be saying it's ok for an article to be "blatant advertising" as long as nobody complains? That's even assuming I agree the article was advertising, which I don't - nor do I believe the other articles I listed are advertising, although the Scalix one is worse than the one that was deleted in my opinion.

The Gordano Messaging Suite article contained as far as I recall, no emotive langauage and no subjective statements. It was a list of simple objective statements of fact about that software application. None of those facts can be disputed. I can't see how this merits a deletion?

Dob78 (talk) 13:18, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, misunderstanding. It's not ok for articles to be advertisements, by any means. The thing is that such articles are occasionally written but someone will tag them sooner or later. Then they get either fixed or deleted. Remember, WP is a process in motion. Regarding the article I deleted... maybe you're right. I'll restore it and send it through afd instead. If the community finds it ok, I have no problems with keeping it. Greetings. --Tone 13:23, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Tone - that's great, we'll see what the community think!

Thanks for posting Bhutan king news. Just wanted to check if you award me a souvenir like this for my collection as per this. --GPPande talk! 09:34, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Come on, do I always have to do that... Spencer is handing out the badges usually... In fact, why don't you do it the same as he does on his userpage? Cheers. --Tone 09:45, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
This process should be similarly followed as is currently done for DYK. If people start adding these templates on their own then credibility of these may be lost. So it is good practice that an admin award it. Maybe my concepts are wrong but I just thought of checking with you as have done in past with some other admins. --GPPande talk! 10:15, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
The thing is that when I add a new item to ITN, I sometimes don't have time to add templates to the talkpages and all the bureaucracy so I usually do none of those. There are several users who monitor ITN and add templates. I don't think you lost credibility if you award a souvenir yourself as long as you are self-consistent. And I appreciate your help in the whole process, of course. --Tone 10:42, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I will ask Spencer this time to award me one. I also appreciate your consistent inputs/updates on ITN. --GPPande talk! 13:09, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

why did you delete my article "Hodokwan"

edit

Why did you delete my article "hodokwan". It was purley educational, and I found nothing wrong with it. Tell me why??? I was trying to let people know about a type of mixed martial arts that not too many people know about, I was trying to bring it out of the shadows. At least tell me how to improve it, so i can get it reposted "correctly"

read my question and reply please. im sorry i changed your page, but i need the article back up. You can change back your page(idc). But please respond to "why did you delete my article "hodokwan"

Hi. The article has many problems. For one thing, it is just a collection of terms with no coherent structure. Check judo or karate to see how a martial arts article should look like. Also, you are not supposed to quote yourself as a source, this is very much in contrary with Wikipedia standards. I suggest you rewrite the article completely, there's not much useful content in what I have deleted. I hope this helps. Regards. --Tone 10:42, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I prefer answering here. Since the article was deleted in the prod process and you object the deletion, the standard procedure is restoring the article. What you can improve is to organize sources a bit more (maybe use footnote references) and some details, like he worked alongside renowned - renowned needs a source here, otherwise it's redundant. Then it should be fine. Greetings. --Tone 10:42, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The only content of the article I deleted was Scrubbing is a technique, commonly used in analog audio editing, by the moving of a magnetic audio tape back and forth slowly across playback heads in order to search for a specific tone or sound. Infobox

edit

Dear friend Tone! As you can see on my user page I have the biggest respect for you. So please allow me to ask you about the "Infobox Olympic event". Do you really like this infobox? Do you think that this infobox is really necessary? This infobox says exactly nothing new. And the biggest problem for me is, that all Olympic events have already an infobox on exactly the same place, in the top right corner... So we have two infoboxes for the same place. Isn't there any better idea? Kind regards Doma-w (talk) 23:59, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Too bad you missed the debate at the Olympics Wikiproject... We discussed this infobox quite a lot. Sure, it does not bring additional information but is a nice way to organize all the details in one place. This is in fact an advantage since it is easy to compare different events. The events infobox can go under this one, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Greetings. --Tone 13:12, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I missed the debate... But I am happy because I saw the Olympics in Beijing - and this was of course better than discussing! :) Well the infobox is only created for the wrong place! And it makes no sense on most of the Olympic result pages like Athletics at the 2008 Summer Olympics - Men's 110 metre hurdles. There are more infoboxes than sentences (exactly two!)... Please allow me to ask you: Does it make sense to add the "Infobox Olympic event" also e.g. here: Boxing at the 1904 Summer Olympics - Bantamweight? But there are some more strange things on the Olympic pages; like the use of wrong (e.g. IRI ="Islamic Republic of Iran" is used for the years when Iran had a Shah.) country codes after a "consensus". So maybe it is better not to think about these things to much... Kind regards and :) Doma-w (talk) 22:17, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Lucky you, you were at the olympics... Where would you put the infobox then? I agree that sometimes there are just two infoboxes representing all the content of the article but have a look at Cycling at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's road race, how it fits nice there (your photo by the way :-) ). When the articles will be long enough, it will all make much more sense. That's what I think, at least... And regarding the links to Iran, this should be systematically fixed with the flags templates. You should contact User:Andrwsc, he's good at that. Cheers. --Tone 17:24, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks for your answer. It is so great to know your suport every time again... :)
Yes, I know, Andrwsc is the big boss at wikioly and he likes the wrong country codes... I asked him thrice. (By the way it is the same for Romania, they did not use ROU before 2008 but on all the wiki pages it looks like that they never had use a different one... strange!)
Yes, of course this is what I am talking about! Thanks that at least you understand me. The infobox is perfect for featured articles like the cycling one, but this infobox brings down the "Sport at the Olympics" infobox. I think there is enough space to put this infobox. Isn't it strange that we want to have two infoboxes for an event page and both are created for exactly the same place? My idea is to recreated the "Infobox Olympic event" in a little bit more horizonal style with the medalists shown in the same style like e.g. here: Swimming at the 1924 Summer Olympics - Men's 100 metre freestyle. Also I think that the place where now are the medalists shown is the perfect place for this infobox. So every infobox has its own place without any tweaking? And both infoboxes could be used easily together? In this place and in this style I think, it also doesn't matter if we do not have all the info or we do not have an image for the "Infobox Olympic event"?
Many thanks and kind reagrds from Vienna Doma-w (talk) 15:01, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

BetterMemo deletion

edit

Hi, could you tell me why BetterMemo article was deleted as "blatant advertising"? There are a lot of software products (even in the same category as BetterMemo), which have articles and I don't see any problems with them.

Maybe the problem was the addition of features (this is the only thing that may be regarded as advertising IMO)? If this is the case, I have seen another software articles about well known software, where the same approach was used. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Riot starter (talkcontribs) 16:06, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The problem with the article is that it contained nothing but release info and a list of features. Such articles should have some assesment of notability, otherwise Wikipedia would turn into a directory instead of encyclopedia. Maybe WP:ORG will be useful to read. I hope this helps. Salutations Mr. Tone,

I now understand that Wikipedia does not publish original research, something we were not aware of when we posted our article. We wish to publish this article elsewhere, unfortunately, our computer system crashed, causing us to loose this article. Is there any way that you could retrieve the article, and send it to me? We are very serious about this article, and we would be distraught if we could not publish it somewhere else. I thank you for your cooperation, and your kindness.

Elementary School Musical episode deletion?

edit

Hi I think you should remove the deletion notice from the Elementary School Musical page. If you look at the consensus it is overwhelmingly in the favor of keeping it. I am curious though, what prompted you to randomly put a deletion notice there? Doesn't it seem out of place to do that and not do the same thing with every other South Park episode. Kensington & Chelsea Cricket Club - deletion

edit

Hello Tone,

I am the Vice President of Kensington & Chelsea Cricket Club in London, and have recently noticed that our wikipedia page has been deleted with the reason 'non-noteworthy cricket club'.

We are certainly not a 'note-worthy' club and would like to have our page reinstated (if that is at all possible)?

I have included a link to our official club website which provides further information on our club, should you require it (www.kccc.tv).

Many thanks for your investigation into this. Please contact me on the details below to confirm the action that will be taken to rectify.

Kind Regards, David Babbage Vice President - KCCC

Last Light Ceremony

edit

While visiting the entry "Irish Calendar" I notice that the entry Last Light Ceremony was deleted in October on the grounds of not being important. I would suggest that any event that involved every single household in a particular country is indeed important. It was also an event unique to Ireland and therefore merits inclusion in the Irish Calendar.87.36.195.153 (talk) 10:42, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

author page

edit

Hello. I set up a page for one of my favorite authors. It was deleted a few weeks ago, which is fine. Is there a way to have the discussion, including the reason for deletion removed from Wikipedia? The stuff about "non-notable author" and "non-notable novel" seems to me to be unnecessarily critical and hardly objective. Again, by all means, delete the page, but can we leave off the nastiness? Please let me know. Thanks in advance. - Mary —Preceding unsigned comment added by Radiohead2468 (talkcontribs) 21:29, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The article was deleted in the prod process. This means that it can be restored without problems. Shall I do this? Still, someone can nominate it for deletion afterwards. Tell me what you think. Greetings. --Tone 11:10, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, if the article can be restored without problems, then I will try to edit it to the point where it won't be nominated for deletion going forward. - Mary Radiohead2468 (talk) 13:25, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
We were talking about Damian D ressick, right? Restored now. Greetings. --Tone 15:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
That's right. Many thanks. For what it's worth, the ("non-notable") person who rec'd the author page for deletion did it I assume because I edited a page Oliver Building (Pittsburgh) to remove a picture of a Cantini painting that he claims to have taken in the lobby of the office building where I've worked for over 20 years. The Cantini painting has never been in the Oliver Building and is (or was--I don't claim to know where it is, just where it isn't) in a different building. Does Wikipedia have a way of dealing with retributory (if that's a word) delete rec's? - Mary Radiohead2468 (talk) 01:31, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I am not completely sure what you mean by retributory delete rec's... Please explain and I can probably help you out ;-) --Tone 11:47, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I don't know what the term for this would be - Say I edit a page to correct an error, and the person who made the original error takes offense at the correction. He looks up my contributions and recommends a page I initiated for deletion. (He includes some nasty remarks in the talk page as well.) Does WP have a term for this, or a policy regarding it? - Mary Radiohead2468 (talk) 14:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hm, sounds like some kind of stalking... This is not a nice behaviour but I wouldn't judge from one case only. Maybe it was just a coincidence. If this happens again, don't take it personal and report it to an admin. Greetings. --Tone 15:19, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Very strong objection to unilateral deletion

edit

I must very strongly object to your deletion of WNYT (internet radio) . It is a legitimate college radio station from a legitimate college (NYIT). It has been so for over 40 years on carrier current, cable radio, and Internet radio. The only reason it is not an over-the-air radio station is because it is in the jam-packed media market of greater New York, where any frequency allotments were taken decades ago. Please restore this page.  –radiojon (talk) 21:45, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Figma article

edit

I would like to disagree with your decision to delete the Figma article. It was literally just a list of the items in a figure line. That a factual list of an existing product line can be called advertising seems a bit .... troublesome. I did use that page for information gathering on that particular product line, something I was under the impression was a goal of Wikipedia's existence. Please let me know if I am mistaken. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.96.67.224 (talk) 09:19, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Sorry, but I think the article was not encyclopedic. Articles need to assert a certain notability but this one was just a list of commercially avaialble products. And the rest of it was written in an advertizing manner. --Tone 11:10, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you had a disagreement with the advertising manner of the article, then why not remove just that? Are you stating that lists of commercially availiable products are not appropriate for Wikipedia? --71.96.67.224 (talk) 05:50, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

You see, the article would then need a complete rewrite. I invite you to do this. And remember, WP is an encyclopedia, not a directory. Greetings. --Tone 11:47, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I simply disagree with the decision then. There are many articles representing a listing of product lines that are not deemed to be "ads". Unless there is a specific reason that this product line has been targeted that I am unaware of, this does not seem to make sense or does not follow an established pattern.

WP:OTHERSTUFF. I hope this helps... --Tone 18:14, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mobile Stud Unit deletion

edit

You've recently deleted the page for band Mobile Stud Unit for the reasons "Unsourced, not entirely serious, and the band doesn't appear to meet WP:MUSIC"

After the deletion warning message first appeared, I went on to remove the jokey bits of the page (not originally written by me!), added some sources and more information about them that meets the WP:MUSIC criteria, and I wrote a note about it.

Yet the entry was still deleted. Mobile Stud Unit may have a jokey name, but they were a serious satirical punk group who made a significant impact on New Zealand's music scene. You may not have heard of them, but many others have.

I reckon they are still worthy of a Wikipedia entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.90.2.29 (talk) 12:13, 22 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Northern Kings - Rethroned

edit

Please restore the article on Northern Kings - Rethroned. You deleted an article about it because it lacked data, and claimed lack of notability, but had you done some research, you would have found that they are a supergroup featuring members of several internationally known acts, most notably Marco Hietala, the bass player and male vocalist from Nightwish, a band that has sold several million albums worldwide, and is featured on many highly notable musical articles, including the primary Heavy Metal article. The reason the article was lacking data beyond a tracklist was because the album was released less than 72 hours prior to your deletion of the article - there has been no time to acquire a great deal of supporting information. Most supporting articles about an album that has only been released so far in their home country Finland (due to staggered release dates) are going to be in Finnish, so it is unreasonable to expect high quality English language articles about it so far.

Regardless, here is one few article I managed to find in a few seconds of researching:

http://www.metalfromfinland.com/news/2008-11-19_21:52/northern_kings_rethroned_today

Note: I am neutral in this issue, and had no part in creating the article, but I was looking for information on this new album, and was disturbed to find that data had been erased on it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.185.203.250 (talkcontribs) 01:06, November 25, 2008

I'm not sure why this was restored. It was PRODed, the prod remained for the approrpiate length of time, and NOTHING was done to address any of those issues. They had plenty of time to fix it. Katherine Curtis deletion

edit

with regards to the deletion of the Katherine Curtis article if she is a non person then you should also be looking to removing Sandrine Renard, April Torres Victoria Sinclair, Christine Kerr et al from the Naked News articles since they would also come under this heading. Curtis is one of the latest members to join that team and she has been very active with the program including among other things developing and hosting and writing the Naked Nerd segment, as well as anchoring other segments on the program. That seems to me to give her as much credo as Sandrine Renard who also writes, anchors and produces for the show. Therefore under the terms that wikipedia follows im afraid you have a host of articles that are open for deletion, especially since April Torres Christine Kerr and Victoria Sinclair only host segments of the program and other wise fulfill no other function. I suggest you begin looking into that or re establish Katherine Curtis' article. Otherwise the deletion could be seen as clear bias on the part of Wikipedia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.36.172.173 (talk) 08:04, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Could you restore FlashQard?

edit

I just realized that you have deleted FlashQard and the reason was: "Non notable software, lacks independent coverage" You are right, this software is not VERY famous and popular but I'm working on it everyday. Beside the technical works, I need some ways to introduce the software and I believe wikipedia is one of the best ways. Even if it is not very popular at the moment, should it be deleted? Some people are using it and everyday more people find the software. Also, if the article itself has any problem, I can correct it. Could you please restore the page? Cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.157.8.244 (talk) 21:14, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. If you can fix the problems that were stated in the nomination, it would be ok. But remember, items must be sufficiently notable to some degree to have articles, not the other way. Wikipedia is not supposed to be used as a way to promote a product. Maybe you should wait some time and write the article later if the software will be used wider? deleted rspoprockband

edit

Hi Tone

I noticed that U have deleted the article I created about R&S pop-rock band It was my first article here in Wikipedia but I have wrote 3 books so this should not be so new to me.

First there was no marketing on the content: When and where the band was founded? What they have published? Who has made the music and which are the band members? and a short description about the music, using also Subba-Cultscha review

Was there a problems wuth the links on their own web-sites or what?

R&S pop-rock bands music is sold as mp3's all over the world for example on Itunes, Napster, eMusic, Amazon, Lala.com, Rhapsody, Shockhound, Groupie Tunes, but mainly in USA

They have made 2 albums of music.

They do not work for any big record company ( 10% for the artists and rest for the company), R&S is a part of the new music business using TuneCore (USA) for deleviring their music ( about 70 % of the income for the artist itself). So the band would not like to be signed and slaved

R&S pop-rock band has over 35 000 friend on MySpace ( 15. of the all Finnish bands in all categories of music) so if U like to deleted R&S pop-rock band, U have a lot of work to do when deleting all the thousends of other Finnish bands as appropriate for wikipedia. If U need I can find a list of bands to U. There wont be left very much Finnish music. Or would U like to support bands with a record deals with 5 big record companies?

It is very difficullt to find important internet pages about the music where R&S pop-rock band is missing, because they represent the new face of the music business (myspace, youtube, last fm, music connection etc.) U surely must have been heard about the changes in music business

Sorry that I have been writing this in a bit angry mood, but I took some time to make the article about the guys and I was not happy when I saw it was deleted. If there is something wrong in the way I made the article, I surely can make some changes, but it's odd if R&S pop-rock band can not be mentioned in Wikipedia, when U can find it in most of the pages in the net concerning music.

All the best for your day

The citation for Turney's admission to the degree of Doctor of Letters honoris causa from the University of Sydney might be interesting for you to read when considering his independence. [1] Sydney Grammar School is an independent, secular, selective, day school for boys and incorporated in 1854 by an Act of Parliament. It is a most important Australian school and it's headmasters figure prominently in Australian educational history. As headmaster, Phillips was influential in the lives of many notable Australians including: Anthony Mason, High Court of Australia Judge; Sir Charles Mackerras, conductor; Professor Peter Baume, politician and academic; Bud Tingwell, actor; Max Dupain, photographer; and Hugh Mackay, social researcher. I have no doubt the article on Phillips needs improving but he is in my mind notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Castlemate (talkcontribs) 04:03, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Tone, Have you given this some consideration? Castlemate (talk) 10:50, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hey, sorry, I must have missed your post... Ok, I'll restore the article so you can work on it. Greetings. --Tone 11:39, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Melissan

Hello.

Could you please restore the edit history of Melissan for me? If you like, you can redirect it to List of Forgotten Realms characters. Thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 20:22, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sense of Humour.

On Dec 8 ITN candidate section; I read through the entire discussion of IWF censorship in U.K. and last came your comment of an article being pre-requisite before discussion begins. I found it quite humorous and thought of acknowledging it.

Artisan Software

edit

Why did you delete the section on Artisan Studio under 'List of UML Tools'? FullSpecWarrior (talk) 23:35, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I am not sure whic article exactly we are talking about. Artisan Software was deleted under argumentation that it was an advertisement but it was not me who deleted it. If you tell me the exact title of the article, I can check. Greetings. --Tone 13:10, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

The article is here:

http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=ARTiSAN_Studio&action=edit&redlink=1

It does state that you deleted it. Is there a way for me to obtain this article's text? Thanks Brad —Preceding unsigned comment added by FullSpecWarrior (talkcontribs) 13:03, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I answered on your talkpage. Greetings. --Tone 13:13, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alta Communications

edit

I noticed you deleted an article started for Alta Communications almost two weeks ago. I was on a break and did not notice this one or I would have tried to help out. This is a notable firm - it is actually one of several firms that came out of a very early PE player. It would be great if you could restore the text as a subpage in my user space and I will get it in shape - although looking at was there it was not a terrible start. Thanks |► ϋrbanяenewaℓTALK ◄| 05:49, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I'll copy the content. Greetings. --Tone 13:10, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks - that is great. PE firms are particularly hard to discern notability sometimes. If you ever have a question - please don't hesitate to drop me a line or look at some of the criteria we have discussed within the Private Equity Task Force. Thanks again. |► ϋrbanяenewaℓTALK ◄| 13:28, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Tone - one a similar note - I wanted to see if you could help with a similar request for Partners Group which you deleted in December 2007 and Quadrangle Group which you deleted in January 2008. If you can drop them into User:Urbanrenewal/Partners Group and User:Urbanrenewal/Quadrangle Group that would be appreciated. Thanks |► ϋrbanяenewaℓTALK ◄| 03:47, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hi. It got deleted once more after I had deleted it, because it was a copyvio. Then, I suppose you can reach the content here: [1], no need to copy. Greetings. --Tone 12:27, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks - Copyright violations do not usually have interesting information. Occassionally I find something worthwhile in a notability deletion. - is there any worthwhile content for Quadrangle Group?
Nothing worth keeping there, IMO... just around 5 sentences with basic info and no references except for company's website. A complete rewrite would be required. Cheers. --Tone 10:43, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of 826 Valencia

edit

Why did you delete the 826 Valencia article? The organization is extremely notable, and led to the founder winning the prestigious TED prize. I can't imagine a legitimate reason to delete the article, so this must be some kind of mistake. --Elplatt (talk) 05:24, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. This was a prod deletion. Now the article is restored but you may want to fix the style and the references. Greetings. --Tone 09:30, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Nazi Philosophers

Hello Tone and if I may wish you and yours Happy Holidays]]. But of course you know I came here for a reason. If you get a chase, can you stop by Talk:Nazi Philosophers and review? Appreciate any input you may have. By the way, no major disagreements! Just discussions on the way a list should go and would value your input. Take care, and once again, Happy Holidays. XMsuite Deletion

edit

Could you please explain why the article XMsuite was deleted? There are no notability issues on the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackdragon17 (talkcontribs) 00:59, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Of course the article has notability issues, in order to have an article about product, one must establish why something is notable, otherwise WP would turn in place for advertisements (what the present article is). By the way, it is a bad idea to recreate the article because it will probably get deleted again, a better idea would be to seek consensus through deletion review. I hope this helps. Greetings. --Tone 13:46, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The XMsuite page was written using Clarizen and Wrike pages as model. The content of XMsuite was similar to those pages and both of those weren't deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackdragon17 (talkcontribs) 19:26, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Those two are well referenced with third-party sources and both establish notability - winner in the eWEEK’s 8th annual Excellence Awards program and one of the "Most Promising Start-Ups" in 2008. I missed anything like this in the article we're talking about... --Tone 21:12, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

XMsuite is a new start up company that currently does not have any third party refrences. We have not won any awards such as the ones you mentioned. Is it still possible for us to post XMsuite on Wikipedia?--Jackdragon17 (talk) 16:51, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I would prefer to wait some time so that notability can get established. If it is a new company, it will be very hard to justify an article. See also WP:CORP. I hope this helps. Cheers. --Tone 17:17, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
