Thanks for uploading Image:Duke-Logo-Pratt.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Speedy deletion of "Shivinder Mohan Singh"

edit

A page you created, Shivinder Mohan Singh, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thanks for the comment. I understand what you're saying, but there are only multiple years of the same ranking list for three sources (US News, Times Higher, Shanghai Jiao Tong University). Right now, I've included more than 50 different ranking lists, so it wouldn't make much sense for that to be the layout when 47/50 would just have a ranking for 2007 or 2008 and be blank for 1999-2006; that would be a lot of blank space. Also, you can sort each column as you see fit by clicking the column header, so readers can easily sort it by year if they'd like to see the year-to-year changes. I'm not sure if you knew that or not. Similarly, you can sort it by source to see the year-to-year changes for a particular source. This is the accepted convention in ranking lists. The sort feature lets readers display it in any way they please. I could also sort the list by year and source by first clicking the year column and then the source column. Then, the user sees each source separated with its earliest ranking first for easy comparison. See List of United States graduate business school rankings, a featured list, for the technique they employ. In that, they only include the most recent year for each ranking. I generally modeled the list off of List of University of Texas at Austin rankings, which I found to be the best of the previously created university-specific ranking lists. Feel free to make changes if you'd like and compare them, but I think using the method you described to me would make it look much less aesthetically pleasing as there would be a lot of blank spaces. On another note, technically, the article should be renamed to List of Duke University rankings since it's officially a list according to wikipedia protocol. Perhaps I'll rename it. I also wouldn't be shocked if this article was nominated for deletion as it's fairly specific...but who knows...the few other university-specific ranking lists have survived. Cheers, -Bluedog423Talk 15:12, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I have nominated List of Duke University rankings, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Duke University rankings. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Sanford School of Public Policy, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.duiki.com/wiki/Terry_Sanford_Institute_of_Public_Policy. Speedy deletion nomination of George Fellows

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on George Fellows requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Cind.amuse 03:23, 11 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Davis Polk logo.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 20:44, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:CBS Logo 1950s.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading File:CBS Logo 1950s.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://iratrivedi.in/hello-world/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
