Throw it in the Fire
Warning
editIf you continue to remove useful links from articles with no discussion, you may be blocked for disruption. EdJohnston (talk) 14:28, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- You need to get someone else to support your changes. For instance, on the talk page of the article you want to change. At first glance, it looks like you are trying to prove a point. Possibly a link that you added was removed and now you are taking out everyone else's. Your account is very new, perhaps you had a previous one. EdJohnston (talk) 18:46, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- I see that you are ignoring my warning and you continue to remove links without any discussion. I am considering what to do next. You have never left a comment on an article talk page. EdJohnston (talk) 17:44, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- Please assume good faith and not bite the newbies. I will start leaving messages on talk pages However, there is quite a bit of spam that is posted which is not taken care of. Please allow me to clean these spam links up, as they do not add anything to the project. Throw it in the Fire (talk) 22:47, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Why are you removing valid links and articles?
editPlease explain what is going on here! Mister Stan (talk) 23:09, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm just trying to remove spam and help with the huge BLP problem. I'm very sorry that you don't see my obvious good faith here. Throw it in the Fire (talk) 23:12, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- Have you ever found someone else to agree with you that these links are spam? Good intentions are not enough. Per WP:COMPETENCE, editors are expected to be well-intentioned AND know what they are doing. EdJohnston (talk) 23:34, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Biographies of Living Persons - AfD
editHi. I appreciate your concern over the state of some of our BLPs. I'm also concerned too, and it's one of my major areas of intervention here. As you are rather new on Wkipedia, you may wish to catch up on our policies before you tackle something as highly contentious as nominating articles through any of our three processes of nomination for deletion: WP:CSD, WP:PROD, and WP:AfD, and to understand the policies that govern these at WP:NOTABILITY, WP:RS, WP:V, and WP:CITE. You will also find WP:BEFORE rather interesting. With all due respect, perhaps you would like to try your hand at doing some New Page Patrolling where we desperately need a lot ot of help, expecially on the bottom of the backlog list, and where you can tag articles that need attention, add the correct stub template to the main page, the project banner to the talk page, and leave some mild requests on the author's talk pages about cleaning up. If you install Twinkle, it will give you a lot of extra buttons with semi-automated functions that will make these task a lot easier. Be absolutely sure that you keep anything you have tagged on your watchlist because you will want to know how effective your tagging is, and to reply to any new comments. And if you are not sure about anything, please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page - I promise I don't bite :) --Kudpung (talk) 16:09, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
