A tag has been placed on Evils requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. tomasz. 12:31, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the Tony Gowland message. There are loads and loads of possibilities and the problem is where to stop. I could sit here and write them for the rest of my life, and I'd like to, but I'm a sad old geezer already and I don't want to make it worse!

editThanks for uploading Image:Surly Logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

- Yes, it was the lack of references for the descriptions of the sectors (although it says section in the body and sector in the header? I prefer "section".) which I thought would let the article down when it came to peer review. If there are any holes, they will be picked at!
- P.S. I'm afraid I'm located a long way from the London scene, I am jealous of the facilities there which mean people can actually use cycling as a proper means of transport... Thaf (talk) 14:34, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Nicole Cooke
editHi Thaf, just wanted to let you know that the reference you added from the Independent doesn't mention a knee op for Nicole in 2003. I've been working my way through her own site's archive with the help of cycling news and the various broadsheets to improve/reference her page and the first op on her knee was in May 2004. Prior to that she only underwent physical rehabilitation for the knee injury sustained in 2003, much of it at Bath University. The reference does however sit very well in the 2007 section after the part on Nicole missing the World Championships, so I've moved it there.
I'll continue working to reference the further sections. Regards Leipzigger98 (talk) 16:26, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Confirming - Nicole Cooke missed a significant section of the 2003 season after 2 crashes both of which injured her left knee. In Canada in the Tour after the World Cup race, she had a minor operation to repair her knee after the 1st crash. She was hospitalised. A fractured top tube of a frame cut to the bone of the knee cap and also partially cut the ligaments on it. In 2004 she had keyhole surgery to remove damaged tissue left consequent on the two crashes of the previous year. Both of these surgical events together with the diagnosis period to the second, severely curtailed preparation for Athens. Beryl Burton
editHi Thaf - well done on all the cycling edits. 1962 British Road Race Champs. In "Personal Best", Beryl does not mention it at all that year, although 1963 she remarks about winning and and in 1961 she remarks about coming 2nd to Bowers. Could it be that she did not ride it, but it was held during the period she was recovering from her crash at Fallowfield ? The BCF records have it as a win for Bowers - see http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/BC/roa/EventReports2005/0_BC_Champs_Road_Race_Senior_Women.asp. That makes Beryl winner of 12 National Road titles. I edited Beryl's page and the Nat RR page as well in line with this. However, if anyone can properly identify the winner of the 1962 event via other means, that would be good. hotoph88 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hotoph88 (talk • contribs) 21:29, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Old UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics
editHello, I'm having trouble understanding what you're trying to do with the 98-01 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics pages. The results tables obviously have no results in them, just a schedule of events. The results links are broken. Why undo my revision? Rising stars of British Cycling
editI recently attended the british youth and junior national track championships. It was there that I witnessed the rising of new stars such as Owain Doull, John Paul, Jon Dibben, and Robert Lambton. I feel that the impressive times and performances of this age group would indicate these riders to be the best of what may well be Britain's most talented generation. The generation, in short that the British Cycling programme has claimed the first British winner of the Tour de France will come from. Therefore I feel that these individuals and perhaps others such as Sam Lowe and Josh Papworth merit wikipedia pages of their own. I leave it up to you to do as you feel best.
Yours Sincerely, WikiWizard123 11:12, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip, but until they are selected for BC's Academy or get decent results internationally or as seniors there's no point adding the articles. Not because I don't thing they're worthy but because other editors would undoubtedly delete them now based on lack of notability. I'll keep an eye out for the future though. Thaf (talk) 14:14, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
I noticed your request on WT:CYC for a rollback, and administrator attention to Geraint Thomas. While rollback is included with admin tools, many non-admins, myself included, have the permission on our accounts. It allows for numerous consecutive edits by one account or IP to be undone with one click just as the "undo" button does for a single edit. It's useful, but it must be used only in cases of unequivocal vandalism (or rolling back edits in your own userpace). Familiarize yourself with the feature, and you may wish to ask one of these admins to have the permission added to your account. Alex finds herself awake at night (Talk · What keeps her up) 23:53, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Following your request on my talk page, I've given you rollback. Please keep in mind, rollback should only be used to revert straightforward vandalism (and sometimes your own edits if no edit summary is needed). Cheers, Gwen Gale (talk) 17:01, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

The article Twins and Multiple Births Association has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Organisation does not appear to be notable. References provided are to a press release and a business directory. No assertion has been made of notability to fulfill WP:N.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Simon-in-sagamihara (talk) 03:38, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello
editI am a German Wikipedian, and I just saw your site and found out that you are writing about the same topics like me :) In some of your articles you used my photos. So we are "sisters in spirit". I wrote a lot of articles about "historical" British riders, so if you are interested in using some of them, please contact me. Right now, I wrote an article about Bert Harris, by the way. --Nicola54 (talk) 21:43, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
