My IP

I've received several messages about disruptive edits and I don't know who has been making these edits but it's definitely not me. I've never even heard of the guy whose page you claimed I edited, nor any of the other people who have pages that were edited which I was previously informed about. I have a mobile hot spot and I'm not sure how you tie IPs to people, but someone else with a hot spot must be doing this, so please send your messages to him instead. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.77.206.10 (talk) 15:13, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

  • Hey! That's unfortunate that others are making disruptive edits on your IP. The best way to avoid this being a problem is by creating an account and editing from that account. Snood1205 (talk) 15:19, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

resin seriously isn't sap

I just wanted to help people avoid that mistake. Then a revert is made with no clarification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.149.114.151 (talk) 21:24, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

  • I reverted the edit because you didn't really justify it at all and a lot of the time when someone precedes something with "not" without any explanation it is vandalism. I'm honestly not an expert either way on it. If you can source that they're not the same thing then please put that in the article with the citation. snood1205(Say Hi! (talk)) 21:34, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Sakanoue tamuramaro ancestry claims

I've edited a page for the historical figure Sakanoue Tamuramaro recently which came under suspicion of being vandalism. To clarify, the article listed no citations and information which had been outlined as inappropriate for use in the entry by several users in the Talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.101.160.100 (talk) 21:47, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

  • The claims are unsubstantiated on the whole which is a problem so I will leave the page the way you edited it to. Please be descriptive in edit messages because otherwise large scale information removal will set off flags for vandalism. snood1205(Say Hi! (talk)) 21:58, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Preston Gates & Ellis changes

Hello, snood1205. I removed the "Jack Abramoff" section of Preston Gates & Ellis page after reviewing the ongoing discussion on the article's talk page, and reviewing the sources cited on the Preston page. It appears that a previous user added claims that were unsupported by any of the cited materials. The unsupported edits include claims that Abramoff stole Preston trade secrets and that Abramoff was a "scapegoat" by Preston. None of the cited evidence supported these claims. From the Talk page, it is clear that a user added in these unsupported allegations after they were initially removed by KWH.

Rollback granted

Hi Snood1205. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 21:07, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

I've also enabled AWB for you. Make sure you read the rules for AWB as well as the manual before using it. Malinaccier (talk) 23:15, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Cross Fluid Edit

Hi,

Can you edit the Cross Fluid page to reflect the correct formula for Cross fluids. The current formula is not only wrong but contains inaccurate extremes. I'm new to Wikipedia and unfamiliar with the syntax for formulae.

Reginald Ferrar entry on Wikipedia

Hello, There is a simpler error in the last line of the Reginald Farrer page, last sentence. The writer states this:He was a devotee of the novels of Jane Austen and wrote for July 1917 issue of The Quarterly Review an article in celebration of the centenary of her birth.[6] Footnote 6 states this: Farrer, Reginald (July 1917). "Jane Austen, ob. July 18, 1817". The Quarterly Review: 1–30.

ob. is the abbreviation for Latin obiit meaning he or she died. The fact is that Jane Austen died July 18, 1817, and commemoration of 200th anniversary her death occurred all over the world and on the internet occurred on July 18, 2017. So the last few words of the Reginald Farrer wikipedia entry need to be corrected to this:

an article in memory of the centenary of her death.

Thank you. the professor (an Austen scholar, fyi) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Austenprof (talkcontribs) 20:23, 22 July 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing this out! You can make the fix on the article, but your edit just added Italic Text at the beginning of the page which seemed unintentional. snood1205(Say Hi! (talk)) 01:41, 23 July 2017 (UTC)

Congratulations from WP:STiki!

ANI Experiences survey

Beginning on November 28, 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Community health initiative (Safety and Support and Anti-Harassment Tools team) will be conducting a survey to en.wikipedia contributors on their experience and satisfaction level with the Administrator’s Noticeboard/Incidents. This survey will be integral to gathering information about how this noticeboard works - which problems it deals with well, and which problems it struggles with.

The survey should take 10-20 minutes to answer, and your individual responses will not be made public. The survey is delivered through Google Forms. The privacy policy for the survey describes how and when Wikimedia collects, uses, and shares the information we receive from survey participants and can be found here:

If you would like to take this survey, please sign up on this page, and a link for the survey will be mailed to you via Special:Emailuser.

Your draft article, Draft:Sonia Vollereaux

Hello, Snood1205. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Sonia Vollereaux".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 17:25, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Victoriano Arenas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Claypole (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:21, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Allan Wasserman

The article Allan Wasserman has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.  » Shadowowl | talk 15:53, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Nomination of Allan Wasserman for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Allan Wasserman is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allan Wasserman until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Adam9007 (talk) 01:29, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed your edit here to ContraPoints. Per WP:NOTBROKEN, it's perfectly acceptable to link to a redirect in most circumstances and it's not necessary to change the link. Thanks! Notability of chemicals

In regards to your edit summary here, I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia:Notability (chemicals) is a failed proposal and that merely having a CAS number is not sufficient on its own to indicate that a chemical compound is notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. The general notability guideline should be used instead. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:14, 26 May 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Lionel Barnett Abrahams

Hello Snood1205,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Lionel Barnett Abrahams for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Redcliffe Gardens/Notable residents

Jona von Ustinov lived at 34 Redcliffe Gardens and thus (I claim) should be included among Notable residents. Jona von Ustinov (Peter's father) worked for MI5 in WWII and is widely thought to have been one of the most important human intelligence source at that time. Why _shouldn't_ his name be there? 81.141.208.136 (talk) 16:08, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

I reverted the removal of references, but for some reason that seemed to also revert your contribution of Jona von Ustinov. I apologize for that, as that was not my intent. Please feel free to restore that, with the reference included. snood1205(Say Hi! (talk)) 16:23, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
I removed the reference because it was wrong. If you'll look at it, you'll see that it was a duplicate of ref [5] for Sydney Monckton Copeman and has nothing to do with Ustinov. 81.141.208.136 (talk) 16:42, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Hi Snood1205, the above message is about your recent contribution to the Bobby Kaufmann article. Neither was the removal "unexplained", nor was your re-addition compatible with the biographies of living persons policy, the NPOV policy (section "undue weight") nor the verifiability policy (WP:BURDEN/WP:ONUS). This is primarily because a Twitter photo of a letter-to-the-editor is an unreliable source in two regards: Twitter messages are user-generated content and may be fake, and letters-to-the-editor are not subject to editorial oversight by the newspaper (they're equivalent to internet forum posts). Best regards, ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:13, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Allaire State Park, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Manasquan.

Indiana Area Senior High School moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Indiana Area Senior High School does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Please see the school article guidelines which describes how the content of school articles should be organized, with the aim of providing general guidance to editors. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.

GNIS/GEOLAND

I'm not sure how familiar you are with WP:GEOLAND, but places that lack legal recognition (such as Ellendale Forge, Pennsylvania) must meet GNG; simply being listed as a populated place is insufficient. You should also be aware of the recent consensus that GNIS is unreliable for "feature class" designations (such as "populated place") and does not satisfy the "legal recognition" requirement. –dlthewave 23:39, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Philippe Audet, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AHL.

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:11, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
