I have put the image of the Little Grey Men cover back in the article; I supplied the image, so I'm sure it is not part of the possible copyright vio. If you want to replace it with something better, that would be fine, but for the moment it is the only image we have for the article. Brianyoumans (talk) 21:22, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message. I found when reading the section which that image was in that it had been taken word for word from some website, as I mentioned on the discussion page. So I wrote a (probably less good) substitute, and just removed the whole content of that section, replacing it with the version I had written. It wasn't my intention either to remove or to retain the image, and I'm not even sure that I realized I had removed it. I've no problem with your replacing it, anyway. The History of Sir Charles Grandison

edit

The "adaptation" section of The History of Sir Charles Grandison was there before I edited the page, and it sticks out. Do you think that it is necessary? I don't. If it was notable, it would have its own page and then that page could link back. Thats just what I think. Remove if you want, or leave it if you want. Ottava Rima (talk) 21:35, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree that it sticks out a bit, mainly, I think, because it's so short. If it were mentioned, as part of a longer section about the influence of the novel on later literature, or something like that, I think it would be fine. I do think it should be mentioned, though it would probably stick out much less if there were just a brief reference, somewhere in the article, to Jane Austen having adapted the novel as a play. Incidentally, I've been thinking of starting an article on Jane Austen's adaptation myself, but it probably won't be in the next few weeks. I've also been thinking of adding the text (Jane Austen's short play, not Richardson's lo-o-o-o-ong novel!) to Wikisource. Stratford490 (talk) 21:59, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
How about this. I think it fixes the problem. Feel free to reword. :) Ottava Rima (talk) 22:19, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
That looks better. Thanks. :) Stratford490 (talk) 22:43, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've added some more. I could probably expand on the role of "love" and "marriage", but that shouldn't be too necessary. Anything missing? Otherwise, it feels complete. Ottava Rima (talk) 23:21, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the work you've been doing. It's nice to see that article being expanded. I have it and Richardson on my watchlist so should notice any future changes. The critical response section should probably be larger. I might have a go at that myself at some stage. Stratford490 (talk) 05:03, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I added your name to the DYK entry for the two pages. Thanks for your help. Ottava Rima (talk) 16:38, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well thank you, though I'm not sure I deserve it. You've done most of the work. Stratford490 (talk) 20:39, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Novels Roll Call

WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!

Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 13:45, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

IP Block exempt

edit

Hi,

I notice you edit through a range that has an anti-vandal block active on it. After discussion with User:Cary Bass I've given your account IP Block exemption for this purpose -- details below!

IP block exempt

edit

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. User:FT2 (talk) 07:28, 7 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your request for rollback

edit

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing! ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Magical Monarch of Mo

edit

The Magical Monarch of Mo is a book of short stories by L. Frank Baum, who went on to write the Oz books. I see the article is in need of some trimming, but I'm not sure how to trim it properly, since it isn't one story. As a member of the Short Story Task Force, maybe you'd like to take it on or advise me? Just Another Cringy Username (talk) 21:11, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
