WikiCup 2011 March newsletter
editWe are half way through round two of the WikiCup, which will end on 28 April. Of the 64 current contestants, 32 will make it through to the next round; the two highest in each pool, and the 16 next highest scorers. At the time of writing, our current overall leader is Hurricanehink (submissions) with 231 points, who leads Pool H. Piotrus (submissions) (Pool G) also has over 200 points, while 9 others (three of whom are in Pool D) have over 100 points. Remember that certain content (specifically, articles/portals included in at least 20 Wikipedias as of 31 December 2010 or articles which are considered "vital") is worth double points if promoted to good or featured status, or if it appears on the main page in the Did You Know column. There were some articles last round which were eligible for double points, but which were not claimed for. For more details, see Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring.
A running total of claims can be seen here. However, numerous competitors are yet to score at all- please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. The number of points that will be needed to reach round three is not clear- everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 00:55, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

We've already had this discussion before.... Executive producers DO NOT go first in the infobox. RedOne is primarily a producer for the album in addition to being the exec. We always list producers by alphabetical order. Also although I know "What is Love?" appears as "Love?" on the album is not yet properly sourced. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 19:24, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

- Lil-unique1: Yeah. That's what I figured.
Ending Start. Yeah. And since it looks exactly the booklet picture, I thought it was real. I think the real one is going to look extremely similar. And they're not doing another cover for "Mean". I've seen pictures of the promo CD on eBay. But what I can't wait for are the videos for these two songs. Also, which songs would you want to see as singles? -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 01:05, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Now that Taylor is back to the US after touring, she has some time to promote "Mean". She already sang it at the ACMs, which I think was one of her best televised performances. I don't think the song is going to be released anywhere other than the US and Canada, because it's so country and probably has no chance overseas, which is why they chose to release "The Story of Us" so closely after. Hopefully, there will be a music video. Taylor has always done music videos for her singles, up until the last single. I can't imagine how it would be though. As for me, I want releases for "Sparks Fly", "Speak Now" (because of how cool the music video would be) and "Enchanted" or "Haunted" because it shows a side that she's never released in a single. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 01:44, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for your participation in the March 2011 GAN backlog elimination drive
editOn behalf of User:Wizardman and myself, we would like to take the time and thank you for your contributions made as part of the March 2011 Good articles backlog elimination drive. Awards and barnstars will go out shortly for those who have reviewed a certain number of articles.
During the backlog drive, in the month of March 2011,
- 522 GA nominations were undertaken.
- 423 GA nominations passed.
- 72 GA nominations failed.
- 27 GA nominations were on hold.
We started the GA backlog elimination drive with 378 GA nominations remaining, with 291 that were not reviewed at all. By 2:00, April 1, 2011, the backlog was at 171 GA nominations, with 100 that were left unreviewed.
At the start of the drive, the oldest unreviewed GA nomination was 101 days (Andrei Kirilenko (politician), at 20 November 2010, reviewed and passed 1 March 2011); at the end of the drive the oldest unreviewed GA nomination was 39 days (Gery Chico, at 24 February 2011, still yet to be reviewed as of this posting).
While we did not achieve the objective of getting the backlog of outstanding GA nominations down to below 50, we reduced the GA backlog by over half. The GA reviews also seemed to be of a higher quality and have consistently led, to say the least, to marginal improvements to those articles (although there were significant improvements to many, even on the some of the nominations that were failed).
If you would like to comment on the drive itself and maybe even make suggestions on how to improve the next one, please make a comment at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Good articles/GAN backlog elimination drives/March 2011#Feedback. Another GA backlog elimination drive is being planned for later this year, tentatively for September or October 2011. Also, if you have any comments or remarks on how to improve the Good article process in general, Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles can always use some feedback at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Good articles.
Again, on behalf of User:Wizardman and myself, thank you for making the March 2011 GA backlog elimination drive a success.

Edit warring at Usher discography
editI've blocked Chelo61, but your behaviour wasn't perfect, either. Don't revert again. You reached out on his talk page, but you did so very late in the process. Have a discussion and get consensus that your changes were good, and let someone else make the edit. If you just put it back, I'll have to consider giving you an edit-warring block as well.—Kww(talk) 02:28, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I noticed your participation in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Writer (song). After your comment there, you notified 11 users about that AfD. Asking other users to support your position at AfD or at other discussion can be disruptive, and so I'd like to remind you about WP:CANVASS, and ask you to ensure that your conduct at that AfD, and future ones does not violate it. While it may not be your intention to gather support for your position, there tends to be some selection bias in that users you know will be more likely to support your position. In the future, if you want to notify editors about an AfD you think they should know about, use a WikiProject page or the article talk page where many interested users might see it, rather than notifying individual users. Thanks, Prodego talk 04:30, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure you completely get it. That sort of mass notification is exactly the sort of thing WP:CANVASS seeks to prevent. Please do not do it. Additionally, asking other editors to revert for you, can be seen the same way. Forming a gang to revert, oppose, or undo the actions of other editors, even if they are wrong, isn't something we'd want to promote on Wikipedia. Prodego talk 14:31, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
Prodego has good points. I make it a rule not to discuss AFDs anywhere but on the AFD itself, with the exception of discussing truly abusive behaviour on ANI. There just really is never a good motivation to notify others of an AFD discussion. If you search inside yourself, you will invariably find that the reason you asked for outside opinions was because you hoped that the discussion would go your way. Ask yourself now: if those 11 editors had come on and voted "delete", wouldn't you have been bitterly disappointed? I'm certain you would have. That means that your notice was intended to influence the discussion, which is what WP:CANVASS attempts to address.
On the second issue, note that I told you to "Have a discussion and get consensus that your changes were good, and let someone else make the edit". That's very different from asking someone else to revert for you, isn't it?—Kww(talk) 17:49, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
- It should be noted that WP:CANVASS applies to any discussion, not just AfDs. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 17:55, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

- Oops sorry I was correcting something so didn't realised you'd messaged. I would like to open an RfC about the "Louboutins" thing. Normally I'd still say include, this time round though I'm tempted to say remove. With regards to moving Love? (album) → LOVE?, I've left a message on the talkpage. I've spent a good 30mins updating the article now the listing is out. TBH i'm not much of a fan of Tricky & The-Dream stuff anymore. They absolutely ruined Basic Instinct, though they're quite good with Mariah. I like Tricky's solo work e.g. on katy parry's album etc. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 00:13, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Now, after that long and terrible time of inactivity, I'm back and ready to get back to work! Don't tell Womanizer, but I'm making pages for "Mannequin" and "Lace and Leather." He's going to kill me if he finds out, but I'm confident that they will be GAs some day. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 02:32, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- I thought it would be clever. Guess not. :P --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 02:39, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
lol Anyway, it seems that both of them will be simple. L&L received attention for having Ke$ha on it and MANQN was one of the first songs from Circus leaked and there was even a video of her dancing to it. Hope to finish at least one of them tomorrow. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 02:43, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Because it charted and I feel like it. Anyway, I want to keep this from becoming Beyoncepedia. :P I wish Brit made album anthologies and released all the songs as singles. That would be nice... --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 03:42, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- True. I don't want another Brit meltdown. Also, I've revised my opinion of FF. Most of the album is amazing and the bonus tracks are all perfect. Don't care for Drop Dead or HIAM, but I am so in love with the rest. My favorites are TTWE, I Wanna Go, Gasoline, DKMW, HATLM, Selfish, Scary, Big Fat Bass, Trip to Your Heart, and Trouble for Me. About Beyoncepedia, yeah, I know, yet I get so mad when they try to delete one of her articles for something like Freakum Dress. She just has so many songs that are notable. GaGa should have and definitely could have done that. TFM was just 3 smash hit singles and another 5 would-have-been-#1s that never saw the light of day. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 03:51, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'm so excited for this Countdown to Love? thing! I love iTunes Countdown singles so much, except when they cause confusion over which is a single and which isn't. I'd be glad to help with the promo singles. Have you seen the Glitterati Deluxe Edition package on her website? It looks so cool, but I'm becoming obsessed with these expensive box sets and fan editions. My FF one should be coming soon... Also, I just got As If! a few days ago. Amazing album, but it should be physical or at least in iTunes LP. *sigh* Not sure "Sex Rules" was the best single choice, since I can't see a music video coming out for it and it looks like people don't care for it much. Sky needs to get it in gear or at least get some better promotion. I can see her fading away soon if she doesn't act. As for the Circus songs, I am not sure about Mannequin. It was one of the highest praised songs from the album, but it never charted. "Mmm Papi" seems like a better choice. "Toy Soldier" from Blackout is a possibility, too, especially since it was scheduled to be a single at some point. Once again, I have to sigh at the way people blow over promotion for amazing music. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 15:54, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh yeah, and it looks like "Out from Under" is going to get a page too. XD I'm so dead. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 16:22, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
I like the Love? track listing. "Hooked On You" should have been on the standard, yeah, but at least we have it, unlike that Darkchild track. Nobody seems to care for Jerkins anymore. :( I'm neutral about "I'm Into You." I think I'm gonna need to watch the video to see if I like it or not, though I definitely would have preferred "Invading My Mind." That song is so catchy. I am also eager to hear the finished Good Hit, the GaGa songs, and the RedOne songs. Can't believe Louboutins didn't make it. I was a huge fan of that song. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 17:25, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

"Love Come Down" is being counted as a single from the album because it was one of two lead singles for the album. Diddy never denounced it as a single despite not appearing on the album. In comparison, Lopez appears to be pretending that "Louboutins" never happened, whereas "Love Come Down" received full promotion including performances, remixes and a music video. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 04:30, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- Well when I was working on the singles, I tried to do one for "Angels" but there just wasn't enough information that wasn't blog related. In reality, most outlets only took notice of the project when "Hello Good Morning" came out and so most refer to that as the lead single. Interestingly, in interviews and press releases Diddy and Interscope still acknowledge the released of "Angels" and "Love Come Down". They're still referred to as the album's first singles. LOpez is an interesting situation as she switched labels and even recorded the majority of the material from the album. Plus "Louboutins" only had a limited release, "Love Come Down" was released almost worldwide. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 04:35, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'm happy to have it removed. "I'm Into You" has been universally referred to as the second single so for that to reign true "Louboutins" has to be removed. Its mentioned enough elsewhere. People will forever remove it anyway so its probably easier to leave it off. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 04:40, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- CBA tbh... i'm getting really fed up at having stupid arguments about everything. There's so much contradiction on here lol. Since more users want it removed I CBA to argue. Same thing happened with "Massive Attack" — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 04:52, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi, you recently created this page about the upcoming album from Alexz Johnson by (it seems) copy and pasting from the original article - Reloaded (The Demolition Crew Voodoo Remix Collection) and turning that page into a redirect. This practice is discouraged on wikipedia because the Creative Commons license we use requires a list of contributors to be available on every article we put up - you can however get the same results by moving a page.
If you don't know, you can do that using the downwards pointing arrow next to the search bar at the top, moving a page brings all the content, talk and history with it and creates a redirect on the old page for you, so it's quicker and easier.
I've sorted it all out now, but just a friendly notice for future reference :)

Aubrey O'Day career sections
editHey, Ending-start. I don't mind you merging the Making the Band and Danity Kane sections, although I prefer to keep them separate, since they are big enough to be separated. But instead of returning the article back away from your merge this time, I made tweaks to it. Danity Kane ended for O'Day in 2008. So I don't feel that the heading should be 2004-09. I changed it to 08. I also don't feel that her acting career should be toned down and included in that section, since it is not about Making the Band/Danity Kane. It partially took place in the same time period, yes, but it is separate from Danity Kane. And, finally, I don't feel that her reality show should be given prominence over her acting career, such as having it in the title while excluding "Acting." This is why I moved the acting information (which was also combined with a bit of the information on her solo career) out of the Making the Band and Danity Kane section and into the solo section, retitling it Acting, solo career, and All About Aubrey. She is still interested in acting, and so acting and her solo career are her present careers. I suppose it could be argued that having a reality show is a part of her present career too, but I simply don't view the reality show as deserving more prominence than her time on Broadway and film debut. Her being on this reality show is still mostly "other work" to me, but since it is as much about her music career as Making the Band, it does seem to belong in her Career section, which is why I reverted myself on that (the moving it to Other work again). I'm not satisfied with the Acting, solo career, and All About Aubrey title, as it seems a little long and awkward. So maybe shortening it to Solo career and All About Aubrey is best after all. Either way, the acting information fits better there; heck, it can be argued as "solo" as well. Flyer22 (talk) 04:43, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Papi
editOMG PAPI IS NOW ON ITUNES!!!!! LOVE? IT!
Also, what do you think of this? I have a feeling it isn't ready somehow, but I've nominated it for GA. I don't think I can improve it with the little bit of coverage it received. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 03:13, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! The only problem is that you changed bassline to baseline, so I guess you think it should be a TV show, a measurement for construction, a magazine, or three US arteries, but not the structure of the musical bass. lol But everything else was great! I should've known to do a lot of it though after going through SHattered Glass. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 16:41, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hmmmm.... This is unrelated to the above, but I think a WikiProject or a task force is needed for Xtina and JLo. Xtina probably needs it the least, but JLo's older pages have quite a bit of issues. Also, do you have any information that could go in the Fever background section? I am really worried about that. It is the weakest part of the article and the only thing holding me back from nominating it for GA. I have tried, but either I'm not good at searching for stuff, or it has all come down with link rot. I'm going to ask some others. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 16:59, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
Whaaaaa
editJLo & Xtina wikiprojects? I'm definitely in there! Lol. I've been planning on working on some Back to Basics singles, but I have never gotten to it...but that's another story haha. But back to J.Lo maybe since it's just a promo release and it hasn't been sent to radio and a the video yet, but I hope "I'm Into You" does well, it's a urban pop banger! Candyo32 17:56, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- Ooh yeaa i knew it was totally it was the second single, I meant that the radio add date hasn't come up (it officially impacts 4/26), maybe it will generate steam after that. But I'm like you, they should have waited to release like maybe a week before LOVE? is released, because "On the Floor" is handling everything by itself on the singles side now. Yeahh I'll sign on, just make sure to get a lot of support for it so the ball can get rolling. I don't know how the Project nominations go, if yo uneed a certain amount of participants or whatever. Candyo32 18:04, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, well I guess I had a good idea! I thought it would be struck down like your Tay Tay project idea. I found that unfortunate, but ipodnano was doing a good job on the articles anyway. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 18:14, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- lol I wasn't even thinking about her acting! Good lord, yes, a WikiProject is obviously needed for her! --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 18:20, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Omg The Snippets sound amazing. I love the sound of "Starting Over," "Villain" and "Hypnotico." I was really disappointed by the HQ version of "Everybody's Girl" while "Charge Me Up" sounds like a cheap Kat DeLuna b-side and "Take Care" is absolutely aweful the album definately trails off towards the end. :( — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 01:40, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Haha the only redeeming song on Inside Out is "Be There"! LOL. "Take Care" just sounds really immature and babyish... its also under-produced. It just comes across as lazy album filler. I'm actually also a little disappointed that they're using the same version of "(What Is) Love?" that featured on the Back-Up Plan's soundtrack =/ they coulda used the second part or something :( and really gutted about "This Cannot Be Love" missing the album. Even "Hooked On You" coulda fitted in nicely. Thing with "Everybody's Girl" is the instruments don't really fit withg Lopez's vocals - its a little overproduced for her, but worse is the additional ad-libbing and layering on the vocals in the HQ version.... — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 01:59, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- The Jap cover looks fake,... it looks so much like Amerii... :S I hope its fake... cus otherwise she's gonna be accused of being made to love asian. TBH i do love "(What Is) Love?" is an amazingly written, produced and sung song lol. Fingers crossed the album performs well. Fear not I have my copy reserved in HMV on day of release in UK I will buy it and correctly fix the track listing, which I must add, we've done well to perfectly source. (i believe its completely correct). :D — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 02:28, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hold fire m8. You're a little too eager with that edit button!! the scans from beyond beautiful show that Tricky is now known as C. "Tricky" Stewart (also credited like this on Scherzinger's album). Additionally the   coding is used to prevent names from spilling onto to separate lines. Per MOS: it should be used to prevent information, which might not make sense otherwise, from being divided between two separate lines. When I add these things to an article I do so because I know they're right lol. Like i never new if you were writing 200,000 copies sold you should use   instead of a space between the number and words. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 02:52, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes "Poison" should be corrected. I don't know who undid them :( haha the album's only just been sent to media so scans are likely to appear in the next few days. Its ok there's not long to wait now. just over a week!!!! — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 03:04, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Re: Killer Love
editWell in the United States its not been released or promoted. We don't know how different the listing will be exactly. One can assume it will be the same title but like I said a differnet cover would be nice and more appropriate for the US. Removed the separate US singles box because its all the same album... unless its titled differently etc. for the time being it is correct as it was — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 19:06, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Hey, Ending: why did you move "Girls Fall like Dominoes" back to "Girls Fall Like Dominoes" with no explanation? :S I moved it the other day, following WP:CAPS, because "like" is used in this case as a preposition. Yves (talk) 03:59, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- I think that's a common misconception, since "like" can be a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, conjunction, preposition, etc. Yves (talk) 04:10, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
- No problem! Happy editing. Yves (talk) 04:12, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

An apology is needed
editHi, you probably don't remember me, or probably do but for bad reasons. This is coming as a few months too late but I figured I'll say it since I was looking back at my talk page. I would like to apologize for any rude remarks or comments that may have offended you or upset you. It wasn't right of me and I failed to collaborate with you regarding several issues we had with the Christina Aguilera article. I know you could have easily reported me or gone through my edits and revert them or what have you but you didn't and tried reasoning with me anyways. At the time I wasn't familiar with talk pages and such therefore the only response you had from me was in my edit summaries. Doesn't excuse my reponses to you. So again, I would like to make a very late but needed apology. Even though, eventually, we came to a consensus regarding the article anyways (which could have been solved earlier and easier had I complied) I still feel I owe you some type of response. Best regards. :) DeadSend4 (talk) 03:25, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi there,
Recently you edited the page Natasha Bedingfield discography and duplicated the same singles twice in the same table. I understand the reasoning behind this because the table looks much neater like that and less confusing than having a number of different albums cited as the yes it looks neater, but you can't have the same songs in the same title twice with a repitition of the album the single comes from. But you just can't have a duplication of the singles twice in the same table as it creates even more confusion. If someone was just passing by they would assume, according to your edit of the page, that Natasha Bedingfield has scored six singles charting in Switzerland when it is in fact five because "Soulmate" has been put down twice. So once again i understand your reasons for doing it and wish there was a way of making the table less confusing, but your answer simply is not it. Thank you anyway! (I'm not saying it in a way that makes me seem like I know everything - you obviously have the right to reply - but the edit just doensn't seem to help to the page) Pafccool2 (talk) 11:47, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

editThe whole situation is stupid but I know why they've done it. The first time round, "Pocketful Of Sunshine" only recieved a limited release while the album of the same name was cancelled internationally. Strip Me has only sold 25,000 copies whihc is mega embarassing for an artist who's first album debuted top-five and who was a regular top-ten chart hitter. So they have a song (which is a hit) and an album (completely unrelated) which is a flop. Thus it makes sense to repackage the flop album with the hit single and hopefully produce a mediocre charting album around the world. I fear she will get dropped if this fails... — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 23:00, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- I can't believe "A.N.G.E.L" flopped in the US... she shoulda released that in the UK as her lead single from Strip Me Away. TBH the cover and name are horrible... they won't do her no justice. Also i don't know why they didn't include "Last Chance" with Nicki Minaj to raise her profile. The original artwork is a masterpiece. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 23:05, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- Agree completely... oh well. On a side note On the Floor has reached platinum in the US (1 million copies sold) :D — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 23:40, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Please don't revert to a version which has an incorrect alphabetical market order. US Dance chart is not a sales chart; therefore, its presence is not more significant than those markets that I have inserted, Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden. I have already begun discussion yesterday at the talk-page of Jennifer Lopez discography, you are more than welcome to engage in it, but reverting the entire page back to a version which needed an incredible amount of improvement is not the correct approach, especially when there is an explanation of the new version sitting on the discussion page.--Harout72 (talk) 21:39, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- I would also like to clear something up regarding this edit of yours here where you state "I'm Into You" has charted in several places, and that user removed them saying it's "not backed by sources", by sources he changed. The version you reverted the entire page to here does not support the positions for "I'm into You" either. It will take sometime for those positions to be updated by the sources provided. We should be patient. Remember, WP:Verifiability states The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth: whether readers can check that material in Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true.--Harout72 (talk) 22:14, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, no problem, I have already tried and explained something for him at his talk. Thank you for noticing that the older version required improvement.--Harout72 (talk) 22:41, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Please explain this. Is there a valid reason why this singles was changed? I'm editing in alphabetical order. I thought it would help.Alptns90 (talk) 15:42, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. Also, thank you for helping me keep the current version, I think it's much better now. Regarding the source of Canada's position for "I'm into You", is there another source that supports position No.61? Because that source no longer seems to contain any positions higher than 50. Didn't it have the position No.61 this morning? I thought I saw it.--Harout72 (talk) 01:19, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Re: Papi & Love
editYes I'm so happy "Papi" charted, its more instant that "Im into You". Think people want the dancing JLO back lol. What position did "Papi" chart at? oo i know its my birthday tomorrow so I got any early present lol. I want the deluxe bonus tracks now.. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 15:33, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- thank you very much Zack. When's your birthday? 28th or 30th? Nah its not quiet the 29th yet but thanks all the same. Apparently its already been made available in Australia ... if you go to AUS iTUnes, its available to download... the pre-order thing has disappeared. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 19:24, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hey Happy birthday to you too! How old you now? I'm 20 (or twent-een i'm referring to it as). My pen-pal in australia emailed me the digital booklet. Apparently he was able to purchase the album today. The song that's most suprised me is "Until It Beats No More," which is defo her best ballad to date. Its freakin' awesome. I'm also digging "Starting Over". In comparison to the rest of the album, "I'm Into You" is a lazy and uninspired single choice. The Taio Cruz-demo had the Island flavor lacking in Lopez's version. His version coulda been a hit. We got almost all of the credits right. I'm surprised that "Take Care" interpolates "Rude Boy", i can't hear any sample personally... — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 00:09, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- I've changed tricky and The-dream (its explained in the personnel section). Using Gaga is fine... cus she's been credited as Lady Gaga as a songwriter. The new version of "Run the World" could be a huge summar jam. I would opt for "Papi" and "Run the World" as the third dual single. (they already have a remix of RtW they can use...)... but Bey's shitted on Lopez by releasing a song with the same name. urg!¬ They obviously meant Gaga had worked on two songs... "Invading My Mind" was definately produced for Love? but "Hypnotico" was originally for Tami Chynn. "Charge Me Up" is also really lame.. but thank goodness they beefed "Take Care" up a little. Not too sure about "One Love" woulda preferred "Hooked On You" or Lopez's version of Cassie's song "Sky Diver" (apparently Lopez recorded a version?) or "Story of My Life". Really want "Pieces" and "This Cannot Be Love" to leak. — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 00:29, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

- Agreed. Its legendary. I've been chopping and changing a lot so when term ends I'll copy edit again. I'm expecting 150 - 200k and debut at number one though Adele might stop her :( — Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 00:44, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 April newsletter
editRound 2 of the 2011 WikiCup is over, and the new round will begin on 1 May. Note that any points scored in the interim (that is, for content promoted or reviews completed on 29-30 April) can be claimed in the next round, but please do not start updating your submissions' pages until the next round has begun. Fewer than a quarter of our original contestants remain; 32 enter round 3, and, in two months' time, only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Casliber (submissions), who led Pool F, was our round champion, with 411 points, while 7 contestants scored between 200 and 300 points. At the other end of the scale, a score of 41 was high enough to reach round 3; more than five times the score required to reach round 2, and competition will no doubt become tighter now we're approaching the later rounds. Those progressing to round 3 were spread fairly evenly across the pools; 4 progressed from each of pools A, B, E and H, while 3 progressed from both pools C and F. Pools D and G were the most successful; each had 5 contestants advancing.
This round saw our first good topic points this year; congratulations to Hurricanehink (submissions) and Nergaal (submissions) who also led pool H and pool B respectively. However, there remain content types for which no points have yet been scored; featured sounds, featured portals and featured topics. In addition to prizes for leaderboard positions, the WikiCup awards other prizes; for instance, last year, a prize was awarded to Candlewicke (submissions) (who has been eliminated) for his work on In The News. For this reason, working on more unusual content could be even more rewarding than usual!
Sorry this newsletter is going out a little earlier than expected- there is a busy weekend coming up! A running total of claims can be seen here. J Milburn and The ed17 19:16, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

- Who knows, it may work. Astralwerks did it to promote the tour in the US. I HIGHLY doubt the release will be on a grand scale, but it will probably chart and need an article anyway. I Help, When I Can. [12] 03:59, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Can you please revert Z33K's MOS violating changes from Born This Way (song)? I dont wanna mess 3RR. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:29, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

- Nahh, fail would be Z33K, who has again returned and reverted. Can someone help me block his 3RR violation? — Legolas (talk2me) 16:56, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

- Kevin blocked him. Can you just revert to the correct version? That will be fine. I don't wanna violate 3RR. By the way what kinda problems has he caused? Can you tell me in brief? I should monitor his edits from now on then. — Legolas (talk2me) 17:05, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

- Already did it. xD For example, he caused Unique some troubles with Killer Love, and he just overall believes he's always right, and keeps on reverting. You can see by his talk page, he's been involved in a lot of edit wars. Surprised he was only blocked once so far. ℥nding·start 17:11, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Back to Basics
editI'm curious to know as to why you reverted back to the old track listing format which unnecessarily lengthened the page. The table format I employed is perfectly acceptable per WP:WikiProject Albums/Article body#Track listing. I personally found it disrespectful for you to revert all the way back with no proper explanation, after I had taken considerable time changing it to the new format to better organize the page. Your claim that it was "Not needed, at all" hasn't been explained any further and seems to be a case of WP:JDLI. If you would like to discuss why the track listing template should be used instead, I'm willing to. –Chase (talk / contribs) 19:46, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- The information sourced comes directly from the CD liner notes. Using the table format shortens the page length and makes it easier, quicker, and more convenient to see which song sampled which. –Chase (talk / contribs) 22:02, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Edits to Aphrodite (album) track listing
editHey, I saw your edits and I just wanted to tell you a few things...
- After someone's full first and last name has been used in a track listing, subsequent uses should only have their last name.
- You don't link the actual artists name in the track listing (unless it is a group).
- (My personal rule) Link every different mention. (Eg → Writers: Terius Nash, Producers: The-Dream).
Also, you removed the star by Stuart's name on "Put Your Hands Up". Just trying to help, afterall I Help, When I Can. [12] 20:11, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- My message bar went off again; I was about to be pissed. Then I was it was you and I thought, "OMG! Somebody I actually wanna talk to!!!" LOL... I Help, When I Can. [12] 20:22, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- I know, but the #1 (seriously, #1) thing that annoys me about Wikipedia is when IP's come to my talk page trying to argue that their (usually unsourced) edit was correct. I have a penny's worth of patience for them. I Help, When I Can. [12] 20:38, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- IDK... They might have blocked him after the Windsor edits. He might have changed his IP (it is possible and rather easy to do so). I Help, When I Can. [12] 21:12, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
