Good work on the Pancuronium page, by the way. I hope you don't mind, I've done some spellchecking and minor copy editing to the section you added. I also have a question – you added:

Clinical effects (muscle activity lower than 25% of physiological) last for about 100 minutes.

This seems to contradict what was previously in the article (clinical effects lasting about 45 minutes). Could you provide a reference to this information? You may want to look here for more info on references – that is, if you're new to Wikipedia! Thank you.

Again, welcome!  Fvasconcellos 21:19, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Fvasconcellos. I'll see to be confident with the rules. Thank you also for spelling/language corrections, my english isn't perfect...working on it:)

For pancuronium: the information I used is that of the Summary of Clinical Properties of the product Pavulon 4mg=2ml Injections, issued by the manufacturer Organon to the Ministry of Public Health of the Czech Republic; the original information source is thus in Czech, can be found here: http://www.aislp.cz/cgi-bin/mvaihtml.cgi?ACT=dSP00000057537&CTR=CIA&IDE=PHC As I assume, you are not czech-speaking, I was searching the full prescribe information on offcial US and UK Organon homepages, but unfortunately, found no clinical data on Pavulon. the best Google found is: http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=pancuronium%2Bpharmacology&spell=1 I however found full prescribing info on Pavulon in german: http://www.kompendium.ch/MonographieTxt.aspx?lang=de&MonType=fi and french: http://www.kompendium.ch/MonographieTxt.aspx?lang=fr&MonType=fi if this helps. As for the dosing (dose, interval) itself, in my opinion, the interval and dose are individual for every single patient and cannot be generalised, because surgical anesthesia is highly patient-oriented medical discipline (for obvious reasons, there is often a very narrow edge between good depth anesthesia and death); so, I conclude, that in normal, average healthy subject, the time to 25% recovery of muscle tone is about 100 minutes after single application of 0.1 mg/kg i.v., but you should consider, that major surgery requires often a relaxation fair below 25% physiological muscle tone, so the interval of re-application can (and probably is) shorther than 100 minutes. It can be, however, also longer in some individuals, and the manufacturer suggest, that re-administration of the drug should be done on a base of ongoing clinical observation of the patient (that is, the anesthesiologist-in-charge of the operation continously observes patient's muscle tone and he/she him/herself decides, when to re-administer the drug). This is similar for every drug used in anesthesiology so far. Regards--Spiperon 22:04, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks – I'll add the prescribing information to the Pancuronium page. I hope you'll stick around and keep contributing! Fvasconcellos 19:15, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Help

I have made the changes you requested. I wouldn't consider myself one of the most active admins, but I'm happy to help. —WAvegetarian(talk) 18:36, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

seroquel

I find this deeply disturbing. I commend your want to help the person, but I think that it opens up a pretty big liability hole for the foundation. You may notice in WP:NOT that wikipedia is not a "how to" guide. I encourage you to remove your answer. ... aa:talk 14:09, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Antidepressant

edit

At the moment, the section in question is unsourced. In my view, many of its more radical claims are original research ("many of these drugs meet WHO criteria for...."). There may be WP:NPOV problems. I suggest you move the entire paragraph to the talkpage, where its merits can be discussed. I'm happy to weigh in if necessary. JFW | T@lk 18:54, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Opioid

edit

Hi there. First of all, I'm flattered that you would think me competent enough; I must note, however, that I am neither a pharmacologist nor a chemist. In my humble opinion the worst part of this little situation is the escalation into an edit war and the lack of discussion, not the factual inaccuracy. I'll add my two cents to the Talk page as soon as I get a chance; you may also want to request opinions at WP:CHEMS and WT:PHARM. Best, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 22:41, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey. I haven't checked the history in detail, but I see Thegoodson hasn't edited the article in over a month, so I don't think protection would be appropriate. What exactly are you referring to? Fvasconcellos (t·c) 18:57, 16 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Two weeks too late, you say? Not in the Julian calendar!

German adjectives

edit

Thank you for moving (renaming) 25 cm schwerer Minenwerfer..... Could you kindly do the same for Schwere Wehrmachtschlepper and 9.15 cm leichte Minenwerfer System Lanz (see also my attempt at a more detailed explanation on the latter's discussion page)? --Dekthep (talk) 07:30, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Quote: in the case of the former "9.15 cm leichte Minenwerfer System Lanz" (sic), I changed the title to 9.15 cm leichtes Minenwerfer System Lanz. Bezieht sich hier aufs "System".
-Hmmm, but actually it doesn't refer to the system.... The adjective "leichter" belongs to the "Minenwerfer". The meaning of the name is: "9.15 cm leichter Minenwerfer; System Lanz". In other words, the "System [by] Lanz" is just an additional description. Otherwise it would have to be written "9.15 cm leichtes Minenwerfer-System Lanz".

-Hallo, ich habe leider keine Quelle dafuer...... Es ist einfach nur mein Sprachgefuehl, das mir das sagt. ;-) --Dekthep (talk) 10:50, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
