Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Renaldo Gouws
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Renaldo Gouws, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Gbawden (talk) 06:14, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Renaldogouws.jpg
editA tag has been placed on File:Renaldogouws.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.heraldlive.co.za/news/2020-03-23-da-urges-a-rates-holiday-to-help-businesses-affected-by-coronavirus/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Issues raised on the Simple English Wikipedia apply here as well
editThe concerns about paid editing, editing with a conflicts of interest, and the possibility that multiple individuals have used or will use this account that are on simple:User talk:South African Influencer (as of 22 July 2019) apply here as well. Please read Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and Wikipedia:Username policy, particularly the sections Wikipedia:Username policy#Shared accounts, Wikipedia:Username policy#Promotional names, and Wikipedia:Username policy#Usernames implying shared use, and abide by any that apply to you.
If the statement on your user page on the Simple English Wikipedia is still true, I would encourage you to copy it to your user page on the English Wikipedia, User:South African Influencer as well. If it is no longer true, I would encourage you to edit your Simple English Wikipedia page to indicate that it was true during the time you were editing there but it is no longer true now, just to avoid any confusion. For reference, you "changes" history on the Simple English Wikipedia can be found at simple:Special:Contributions/South_African_Influencer. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:02, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

editHello South African Influencer. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:South African Influencer. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=South African Influencer|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GeneralNotability (talk) 18:48, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- I am the creator of the article recommendations on two prominent politicians in Nelson Mandela Bay as I have been tasked to set up political party leadership positions in Nelson Mandela Bay. It's a non paying position and there is no bias as I am not associated with these politicians or know them personally. The crux of the matter it is to shine the light more on Nelson Mandela Bay and its politicians as it's the 3rd biggest metro in South Africa and yet almost no politicians out the region and the province feature on Wikipedia. I was employed before this to do social media for companies but I am not paid a cent for writing articles or making corrections or updates on here. As you would see today I corrected and updated two politician profiles in Nelson Mandela Bay. One being the former mayor and the other being the former MEC for Infrastructure and Engineering. If I was receiving funds then why would I write about "the competition". I am honestly just trying to bring more attention to prominent politicians in Nelson Mandela Bay and the reason it has been so slow in producing the draft articles is because if I am going to be questioned or stopped at every attempt to write one then I wouldn't waste my time further. It has taken so long because I have about 15 prominent politicians to create a profile for but if these ones don't pass then what is the point? The two I spoke of in the drafts are the ones I have the most history and references from. Everything I post is from a neutral perspective and everything is backed with references. It seems the only problem left is the one person davidwr constantly mentioning the fact that I might have a conflict of interest. I can assure you I don't, as I don't get paid and I also don't write for ONE political party. My edits should show this. If you would like to find out who I work for then you will see it doesn't even fall in the same industry. South African Influencer South African Influencer (talk) 19:42, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- South African Influencer, you say you have been "tasked." Who exactly is tasking you, and what is your relationship to them? If you're specifically being told what to write about, we need to know who's telling you, even if it's an internship or volunteer position. GeneralNotability (talk) 20:13, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- When I say tasked I am referring to myself and a couple of friends who have been active on Wikipedia. As in the task for political figures in Nelson Mandela Bay. Other friends are providing their expertise in fields like notable celebrities in Nelson Mandela Bay etc. I work for myself and run a clothing company. I do this as a hobby after I worked in the administrative sides of politics for decades. I hope this clears the matter up. The constant article for deletion more than a year ago that davidwr brings up was my first attempt and I had no knowledge of how to source information. Since then you can see that I produce quality articles with references and written in a way that doesn't real like an advert. My goal is to add various noteworthy political leaders from Nelson Mandela Bay, as Nelson Mandela Bay is not featured enough on Wikipedia. Is that a conflict of interest? If so please indicate how to word the conflict of interest and I will adjust it and add it in. South African Influencer (talk) 22:27, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
- I hope the above has made my association clear. I am a resident of Nelson Mandela Bay that owns a design company and I used to form part of the municipality... and due to this noticed that there isn't a lot of articles on the political aspect of Nelson Mandela Bay, hence my interest in expanding this. Thank You South African Influencer (talk) 11:55, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
"AFC comment" is not necessary except on AFC drafts, plus how to indent
editThe purpose of {{AFC comment}} is to allow reviewers to post comments on an Articles for Creation submission. It is not used anywhere else in Wikipedia. To make a comment on a "talk" page or other "discussion" page, just make the comment. To indent, put a colon beginning of the line. To indent with a "bullet" character, use a * instead. If you are "replying" to someone else's "reply" copy the asterisks and colons that they used, then add a colon or asterisk of your own.
Here is how it looks:
examples of ways to indent
|
---|
Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] *How can I help? ... ~~~~ **How do you indent with and without bullets? [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] will display as Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should]
Here is how it works with colons instead of asterisks: Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] :How can I help? ... ~~~~ ::How do you indent with and without bullets? [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] will display as Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should]
If I use a * and you don't want a "bullet" then use *: like so: Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] *How can I help? ... ~~~~ *:How do you indent with and without bullets? [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] will display as Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should]
If I do not use a * and you want to have a bullet, do it like this: Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] :How can I help? ... ~~~~ :*How do you indent with and without bullets? [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should] will display as Hey davidwr, I have a question. [your signature will go here if you type ~~~~, which you should]
Again, the last two aren't common. |
Oh, when you do use {{AFC comment}} please type everything on one line, and do not use the * or : to indent. Just do it like so: {{AFC comment|This is a comment. ~~~~}}
.
I hope this helps. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:40, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Bkissin (talk) 14:15, 5 October 2020 (UTC)File permission problem with File:Retiefodendaal.png
editThanks for uploading File:Retiefodendaal.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
