Copyright images
editHello, I'm Arjayay. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. The images you added to List of prime ministers of India appear to be copyrighted content borrowed from another website. If you are the copyright holder and would like to use this image on Wikipedia, please follow the instructions given at WP:DONATEIMAGE. This will start the process to get an OTRS ticket in place on the item proving that Wikipedia has permission to use it. The image should be uploaded to Commons, not directly to Wikipedia, so you will need to open a user account on that wiki as well. This may sound complex, but hopefully if you take it step by step it will go smoothly. If you have any questions, you can leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! - Arjayay (talk) 17:49, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
Bhotia dog
editThanks for contributing to the article Bhotia dog. However, do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, your own website, websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight, expressing views that are widely acknowledged as extremist, that are promotional in nature, or that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, as one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Thanks! P.S. If you need further help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. If a reliable source can be found linking the Bhotia with the Gaddi Kutta I would be delighted to include that in the article.
Recent edit reversion
editIn this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.
I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.
I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 18:47, 26 December 2020 (UTC)Cavalryman (talk) 23:19, 3 December 2020 (UTC).

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited A. A. K. Niazi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Punjab Province. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Armed Forces Medical Services moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Armed Forces Medical Services, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. April 2022
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Armed Forces Medical Services. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:38, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, Soap Boy 1,
- If you disagree with a page being moved from main space to Draft space, please move it back, do not cut & paste a new version back into main space. This leads us with two separate articles on the same subject with two different edit histories. It's okay if you object with a move but please move it back rather than creating a second version. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:40, 14 April 2022 (UTC)

reverting my edits
editI do not know why you decided to go through my edits and revert them, but I'd prefer you consult me before you do. You did not present any reason for reverting them, and none of my edits were incorrect or against wiki rules. I'm going to put them all back to the way I had them, and if you want to go through all of them together here I'd be happy to explain them Josepherino (talk) 23:00, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
@Josepherino: I reverted your edits because they had no source to back them up.
Indian Army - The motto in English is "Service Before Self". Also Dharma cannot be English translation of Dharma. Trusted Sources - ScoopWhoop, India Today, The Tribune, Hindustan Times, Business Standard.
Paithan - There are many sources that claim Sufi saint had influences there. Sources - 1, 2, 3.
Age of the Gods - As for this article, myths cannot be termed as chronology. Take the example of Mahabharata, though the events are mentioned in chronological order it is still considered as a mythology. So you can call Age of the Gods as a Japanese or Shinto mythology but not a chronology.
I am restoring back my edits, if you have any grievances feel free to leave a message here on the talk page.
Regards
Soap Boy 1 (talk) 04:17, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
- Indian army: I do not care what those say, more likely than not they're copy and pasted the incorrect translation from wikipedia. Let me spell out the translation for you:
- sevā सेवा
- Definition: f. service, attendance on (locative case genitive case,or compound; sevāṃ-kṛ-,with genitive case,"to be in the service of")
- परम
- adj.
- parama
- highest
- Dharma: this is a religious word that has no English equivalent. Therefore it can be kept as Dharma
- If possible, I'd like for you to show me where "before" and "self" are found in this sentence.
- Now, if we combine these, we approximately get the phrase "service is the highest Dharma". None of your sources are credible sources, a credible source would be a person who speaks sanskrit. your sources are all tabloid type articles written by people who have no grasp of Sanskrit. Those are not "trusted sources"
- Here is a source from a guy who knows Sanskrit:
- And here is a speech from a government official whose translation matches mine
- https://pib.gov.in/newsite/PrintRelease.aspx?relid=214566
- Paithan: those first two sources are unusable, as they do not come from a reliable source, and do not cite the sources from which they make the claims. They're personal blogs. The third source does not back up the claims that " Paithan continued to play a pre-eminent role even during the Muslim period when the Sufi saints dominated the realm of religious activities in the region" and " Paithan region also saw Muslim Sufi saints flourishing". It just notes their presence, and stated they were buried there.
- Age of Gods: you're just wrong, chronology within mythology is still cronology (https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Chronology_of_the_Bible), and the use of "Shinto chronology" is far more specific and accurate, since "Japanese mythology" entails Buddhism, whereas the Age of Gods is a Shinto Specific concept. https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Chronology_of_the_Bible Josepherino (talk) 19:43, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
I am really sorry to say but your not caring does not change anything. Wikipedia works on references for its facts, so I have provided enough legit sources that prove it right about the motto. If you still have any problem then please start a discussion on the talk page of the article instead of starting an edit war. Soap Boy 1 (talk) 16:20, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
You have provided a reference for the translation of the motto. But can you even provide a single source where the motto of Indian army is mentioned as Seva Parmo Dharma. All the prominent articles just mention the motto as "Service before Self" without any mention to the Sanskrit one. Soap Boy 1 (talk) 16:24, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- I already did, I suggest you read the sources I sent.
- http://rajansachdev.blogspot.com/2015/11/what-is-dharma.html Josepherino (talk) 18:19, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
@Josepherino: Your sources still do not prove that motto of army is SEVA PARMO DHARMA, it is just a translation of the speech given by Modi. Whereas my sources clearly say Service before Self is the motto. Soap Boy 1 (talk) 10:27, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
- A quick search on google scholar shows that all translations used in academic sources are more or less identical to my own. The phrase itself takes from Tulsidas's Ramayan, and is translated the same way as mine. I feel like you've dug your heels into this point, which is at this point fruitless to argue more. If you would like to keep arguing this point and using tabloids to back up your point, I think its better we just take it to a moderation board and both present our points there.
- https://scholar.google.com/scholar?start=10&q=seva+paramo+dharma+indian+army&hl=en&as_sdt=0,5 Josepherino (talk) 20:22, 16 July 2022 (UTC)
I am not telling that you are wrong with your translation. You are correct but what is the point of correct translation when "Seva Parmo Dharma" itself is not the motto of the army. The motto of the army is in English only which is "Service before Self". Soap Boy 1 (talk) 10:11, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Blocked for sockpuppetry
editNote that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:
I have been blocked for using multiple accounts and I don't think I have done anything wrong as Wikipedia allows to have them. I used separate accounts for contributing from different devices and you can check that no vandalism or wrong edits were done through them. I have three account @Soap Boy 1:, @Cookersweet: and @Shishupal Nagar:. I request you to please unblock me. Soap Boy 1 (talk) 20:14, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Extensive overlap without disclosure that the accounts were operated by the same person. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:17, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
It has been a year since I was blocked for having multiple accounts. I sincerely apologise for my mistake. I have learned my lesson and request an unblock.
Decline reason:
Apparently not. Did you make this request before or after the latest sock blocks. Please read the WP:GAB -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:18, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

- Note to reviewing administrator - in the last 24 hours I have blocked two further confirmed sockpuppets of this user (Hutta Kutta and Toot Gaya). I would recommend declining this, and revoking TPA, but will leave it for another admin/CU to review. Note also that this is a 3X ban, not just a CU block, so any unblock appeal would have to go to AN for communty review... Girth Summit (blether) 11:11, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Girth Summit: Thanks. I saw the latest SPI. So . . . .-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:15, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
So, instead of waiting the six months and requesting an unblock per WP:3X as I advised your second-from-last sockpuppet on my talk page, you created another account (Biasheeds and continued edit warring to reinstate your preferred versions of the pages. I looked at the pages that you claim were vandalised, and I see no evidence that they were; someone changing an article in a way that you disagree with is not the same as vandalism. You have repeatedly used sockpuppet accounts over a long period of time to edit war articles back to the state you think they should be in, instead of engaging in talk page discussions and attempting to build consensus by legitimate means. I warned you that if this continued, you would be community banned per WP:3X; since you have ignored that warning, you give me no choice by to enact that ban. Please find another hobby.
