Stamdogg
editHere is content of the article before it was deleted:
Keven "stamdogg" Stammen of Coldwater, Ohio, (born November 15, 1985) is an iconic American poker player who has played professionally for over 5 years. He is currently ranked the #1 internet poker player in Ohio and #9 in the world by Pocketfives.com.[1] He has $207,886 in live tournament winnings.[2]. Stamdogg plays on Fulltilt poker and also is known as Stammdogg on Pokerstars and stamdogg3 on Absolute Poker. In total Stamdogg has earned over 1.8$ Million in online poker tournaments.[3] Stammen is currently ranked #1 on Officialpokerrankings.com for Pokerstars and #21 on Fulltilt.[4] Stammen's biggest tournament cash was a 4th place FTOPS Event #9 for $84,000.
The issue was marginal notability, with weak referencing. This doesn't mean it can't be recreated, but the referencing would have to be a bit stronger. Ideally, with links to news articles. Plastikspork (talk) 06:57, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Why wouldn't you just mark it for "more referencing" or "needs cleanup" instead of deleting it and forcing someone to re-create it? Because that article certainly had more content than the one on Engineering science and mechanics, which has contained all of 1 sentence for almost a year now. The history for that page shows that it did used to have more content, but it has since been edited so much that it feels kinda useless. Can you explain? Thanks. Shymian (talk) 07:10, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- It was prodded for deletion, and that prod expired. I will review the edit history again to see if there was something that I missed. I will also alert the editor who issued the prod. Do you know of any more references which could be added? I would be happy to undelete it and send it to AFD if you would like to work on the article. Thanks. Plastikspork (talk) 14:49, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- I just re-checked the edit history, and what I pasted above is really the only content that ever existed on the page. Would you be willing to help find specific references for the statements made in the article? Plastikspork (talk) 14:59, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think this article falls within the criteria of WP:NOTE. Allowing unreferenced articles to be written for every marginally successful poker player sets a precedent for the publication of indiscriminate information. At a minimum, the content of this article should be merged into a broader context of successful poker players. Perhaps a better approach would be to establish the notability of a tournament (online or otherwise) and include the player’s information in that context. Either way, I think this article should be deleted. John Kronenwetter (talk) 16:49, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
References - how-to
editHello! Use this formatting parameter to add references to an article:
<ref>{{cite news | author = | title = | publisher = | date = | url = | accessdate=2009-07-27}}</ref>
Just fill in the appropriate information after the "=" in each section. Thanks! Pastor Theo (talk) 12:22, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Petty edits (your comment)
editThat anon user seems to be making a good faith effort to strip POV, peacockery, and trivia from Wikipedia, but I share your view that the edits are largely petty -- and aren't necessarily improving things overall. I've repeated the removal of that "trivia" template (although the section could be improved by converting the list to a prose discussion of the many places the song has been used), made a couple of other changes, and posted about another issue on the user talk page. --Orlady (talk) 16:03, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi Shymian - I've restored it per your request but this really looks like a cut n paste of Inside the Forbidden City (1965 film) and IMDB indicates that this was released in 1965 not 1963 - can I maybe userfy this for you so you can double check? Pedro : Chat 08:42, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I've undone my close of the AFD and replaced the AFD link - but per your concerns I've removed the speedy tag for the second. Pedro : Chat 08:49, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
JR Chandler and other articles
editThe next time you have an issue with me, take it to my talk page, instead of acting as though I am some harsh person who was wrong in a clearly justified report about another editor. I could see if I was truly nasty to you, but I was not. You being a less experienced editor here should trust the judgment of more experienced editors more often. I was not trying to be rude to you; nor did I have a reason to be. However, I apologize to you since you felt that I was. Your accusations against me are just as worthy of an apology. I have no problem with people improving articles. Did I revert all your edits to the JR Chandler article, such as the very first one you made there? No. It is just that I felt/feel that your linking was not too helpful, for the reasons stated in my edit summary and now on my talk page. Flyer22 (talk) 22:15, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Shymian. The link for Chinese doughnut leads to a pretty well established article. Certainly improvements would be a welcome part of the doughnut project, but I'm not quite sure what you were asking. There are several subjects on the pojrect page that have no articles if you can offer any insight. They include Ngàuhleisōu, saa1 jung1, Zha Gao, Jin Doi, Chien Doi, and Zhá Miàn Quān. Happy holidays. ChildofMidnight (talk) 01:06, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, the list of fried dough foods and list of doughnut varieties articles already exist. But I support massive expansion wiht any and all possible additions. :) We're trying to turn the redlinks blue and fix stuff up as much as possible with photos and what-not. :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 03:54, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- I reposted our discussion regarding Chinese doughnuts on the Doughnut Challenge discussion page so it wouldn't get archived and lost. If you have any objection just let me know or remove it from there. Thanks again. ChildofMidnight (talk) 22:37, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
