"Militant" Indian organizations
Hello Shyam--I saw some of your edits on India's politics, and thought that you might be interested in reviewing some recent edits made to Shiv Sena, Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. An anonymous editor, after doing several acts of vandalism, inserted "militant" into the descriptions of each organization. I thought that someone with a little more subject matter knowledge might determine whether these are legit edits or not. Thanks, -RoBoTamice 16:02, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- I have reverted these edits. Waiting for the response yet. Shyam (T/C) 07:52, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Great, thanks. -RoBoTamice 12:49, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

TfD: Nominated for deletion
Hi. I would like to notify you about TfD: Nominated for deletion. Please see Templates for deletion - LS19yy-Jaipur. About a dozen Jaipur election result templates have been nominated after the data from each has been substituted into the constituency and state article. You may also see the discussion at WikiProject India's board (topic Trivia added to single use templates). VasuVR (talk, contribs) 13:45, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Season's Greetings
Deleted photo
I see that you deleted a photo here from the article Tony Pooley that had been uploaded by Tony Pooley's son Simon. Could you tell me why it was deleted? ciao Rotational (talk) 12:18, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Happy New Year! It did not have any copyright tag, and hence deleted as per Wikipedia policies. Shyam (T/C) 07:10, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
And a Happy New Year to you!! Simon Pooley was obviously an editor new to Wikipedia - in fact, except for adding to the article on his father and the photo, he did not edit anything else. I would guess he didn't understand the importance of copyright tags..... and probably never returned after uploading his family photo, so that he would have missed any warning tags. I'm in touch with his mother, Elsa Pooley at the moment about another matter. His intention was to release the family photo of which he has copyright, to the public domain. Could you dig out the photo and put a copy on my talk page so that I can ask her for an explicit release? Much obliged. ciao Rotational (talk) 12:58, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not to worry!! I see that the photo was given a GFDL tag here by Cydebot, so I'll just replace it in the article. Go well. Rotational (talk) 13:10, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- I could undelete the image if the uploader himself wants to tag it properly. File:Portrait 2 (black and w-7DB.jpg was already tagged by uploader. Cydeboat just added "Subject to disclaimers" in the tag. You can not tag it without prior knowledge of the uploader. Thanks. Shyam (T/C) 18:29, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
No......I meant replace the image in the article. ciao Rotational (talk) 09:07, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, that's great. Thanks for placing the free image into the article. Cheers, Shyam (T/C) 16:34, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Oriya Wikipedia
Hello brother, I'm a newbie at editing wikipedia articles, though using it since 2 years. Recently I have decided to add content to Oriya wikipedia, but the main problem is that the home page doesn't link to any contents and hence all the articles can only be accessed by searching them or clicking on random article. Also the main page needs to be edited slightly. But it is blocked. Can you do something about it? Also I've found only 3 proper articles via random search. The rest are crap and meaningless stubs (like 12,13,14 etc). Please help me a little. Thanks in advance. -- Coldbreeze16 (talk) 13:19, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry Coldbreeze16, I don't understand Oriya language. If you want to make some changes in orwp main page, then please approach to local admins (I hope orwp has local sysops). If you feel articles are not up-to mark, then feel free to add contents, sources etc. Please let me know, if I can be further helo on this. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 15:02, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for your response. I don't think orwp has a local sysop or if it does have then I'm unsure how to find one. That's why I tried to contact an Indian sysop (you). All I need of a sysop is to take the improved main page I've done and upload him or unlock the main page for a day and inform me. Once I've finished then lock it again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coldbreeze16 (talk • contribs) 08:07, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
- In that case, try contacting Stewards on meta. Unfortunately, sysops of enwp do not have any control on any other language wikimedia projects. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 06:33, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of List of Lok Sabha members from Rajasthan
The article List of Lok Sabha members from Rajasthan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The title and the page article don't match, a dab isn't required for this, restoring the original redirect doesn't make sense now as that page is old and the section in that doesn't address this title any more. A valid list can be created under this title with sourced data, but the current page doesn't serve as a legitimate starting point.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -SpacemanSpiffCalvin‡Hobbes 04:24, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Creating redirects
Hi - I've been recreating a lot of redirects that were deleted as db-R3 (unlikely typo), including many you deleted. The ones I'm recreating are the ones on User:Gmaxwell/seo, which is taken from the AOL search data released in 2006. So all the redirects I'm recreating are typos, but ones that are proven to have been typed multiple times by actual Internet users. Or AOL users, anyway. I noted it on WT:RFD, if you think this is a bad idea - David Gerard (talk) 22:32, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
