Hi Shortride, I saw you added Santa Lucia Preserve as an unincorporated area of Monterey County. I'd looked into this prior but couldn't determine if it were actually the case. Do you have a source? Thanks!

Origin of Pennzoil

edit

I know it's been more than a decade, but there's some talk about an aspect of the Pennzoil article. Your edit changed the original company's origin to Los Angeles, but without citation. There's nothing online that can confirm this as their origin, nor can contradict it, either. Do you happen to recall where you definitively determined Los Angeles?      — BoringJim (talk) 07:14, 31 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Walden, New York, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Middletown, New York (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Speedy deletion nomination of Nob Hill Foods

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nob Hill Foods requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Calistoga Tribune

edit

Hello, Shortride,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Calistoga Tribune, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Save-a-Lot store count

edit

Back on 1 July 2011, you added the store count of "1,280" to Save-A-Lot. I know this was back nearly a decade ago, but I'm wondering if you still recall where you got that information from. I ask because, in the process of making a footprint map, I've only found 984 locations, according to their store locator. (I'm more inclined to believe they're missing stores from their locator, than to think they've lost 296 stores in that time - but I'd like to make sure.) Thank you.        —  BoringJim (talk) 20:42, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Reinhold Publishing

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Reinhold Publishing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Speedy deletion nomination of Catholic Health East

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Catholic Health East requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/43121-80 and https://www.cbinsights.com/company/catholic-health-east. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Interstate 8

edit

Two quick points to elaborate on my last edit summary:

  • First, we need a source. The Google Street View imagery for the three exits from February, March, May 2023, respectively, does not show any destinations at those exits, just the road names. We don't have a way to verify that the signs have been changed until Google drives through ggain and captures new images. I-8 is a featured article, so verification is a priority.
  • Second, we don't include destinations not present on the main guide sign at an exit in that fashion.
    • If the "big green sign" (BGS) with the exit number at the exit has those destinations, we'd include them in the destinations column.
    • Instead, if there is supplemental signage listing them, signage separate from the BGSs at the exit, says a "Viejas Reservation Exit 33", then that could be listed in the notes for the exit, "Also access to Viejas Reservation" or the like.

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:26, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Entertainment Rights into Where's Wally?. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Nobody (talk) 18:13, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Anthology Editions

edit

Hello Shortride, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Anthology Editions, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthology Editions.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Chris troutman}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

KIDS Magazine!

edit

Hi! I noticed you added quite a bit of content to the KIDS Magazine (1970s Magazine) entry on Wikipedia a few years ago. I bought this as a kid and loved it, and I own issues 1 - 21 and 23. Do you happen to know what the final issue was? I'm trying to collect the rest but don't know when it ended! Thanks for any info you may have! Keithgreenfan (talk) 15:36, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Conquest of Light moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Conquest of Light. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 19:30, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Conquest of Light has been accepted

edit

Conquest of Light, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thanks again, and happy editing!

April 2024

edit

Hello, and thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Vermont Public! However, adding a bare URL is not ideal, and exposes the reference to link rot. It is preferable to use proper citation templates when citing sources, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a bibliographic citation. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{cite web}} template to cite a web page:

Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.

which displays inline in the running text of the article as:

Lorem ipsum[1] dolor sit amet.

and displays under References as:

1. ^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac". Ask a Question. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.

If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations; try the reFill tool, which can resolve some bare references semi-automatically. Once again, thanks for adding references to articles. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 18:43, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
