{{unblock|I REALIZE I AM NOT BLOCKED DIRECTLY and that it is not proper to request this again. However, I am new to Wikipedia and am trying to get an admin's attention on this issue. Can someone have a look at my talk page for an explanation of my concern and possibly point me in the right direction, please? I am having trouble figuring out the proper channels for this but would be happy to switch to them once I know what they are. I am much obliged. --Shiznick}}
Wait a moment, I'll look into this. I'm not convinced that IP needs to be blocked, but will consult with the admin who did the block (months ago). I can't see a history of bad edits from that IP either. For the moment, I'll make it a "soft" block, so you should be able to edit through it while logged in with your username. - I changed the block on that IP address to allow logged-in users to edit. it's not true that edits via proxies are disallowed, only anonymous edits via proxies. You should be able to edit now. Mangojuicetalk 14:52, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Mangojuice, you beat me to it. I also reported the case at the Open Proxies wikiproject for review. Happy editing, Shiznick, and sorry for the inconvenience. Fut.Perf. ☼ 15:05, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks to both of you. I really appreciate the attention my situation received. I'm anxious to start contributing. :) --Shiznick

Half-tangent
editOne last aside possibly relevant if you did work with the Gudermannian function and its inverse: these functions are closely related to the circular and hyperbolic half-tangents. I started a draft of a Wikipedia article about half-tangents which sort of ballooned in scope, accreting piles of formulas and related topics until it's probably no longer appropriate as a Wiki article and probably should be published elsewhere (maybe with a cut-down summary left in Wikipedia article namespace). It's still incomplete and I haven't yet figured out quite what to do with it, but you might find it interesting or useful: User:Jacobolus/HalfTan. –jacobolus (t) 03:01, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
