Templates
editPhew this is hard going! I was wondering if it wa spossible to use AWB to edit templates in Wikipedia:WikiProject Vietnam/Provincial templates. Basically I need to remove the words District of and , Vietnam so the title reads just ... Province. Also I need to rmeove the coloration to standard by just rmeoving the titlestyle and group style columns. Can this be done?
Thats great. You can see exactly what needs changing see the diff here. The flag needs reducing to 23px to. You can see the ones I've done on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Vietnam/Provincial templates page. Eventually I will have all the templates built up like Template:Ca Mau Province and hopefully with any other notable topics within these provinces like pagodas etc. I was beginning to get uninspired by the dull muddy brown/gold templates so the standard blue had to arrive! I think it looks a bit more airy now! Now I can get back to adding pop figures. I've also asked Mr. Accountable to help out with copying the Viet text into the talk pages, will share the load for you then. I translated the ones last night, I'll get around to doing some that Accountable copied tomorrow, it will take time but its on the right track. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:36, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Cool. You can see the extent of the task I'm working towards. Basically in the end we will have 64 templates like Ca Mau crammed full of communes red linked. Then they all need starting, preferably with population and area data. Hopefully the guys at the Viet project will be able to auto generate a list in the least. So its around 9000 communes/small towns I think. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:41, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah those are some of the very few things I'm useless at, computer programming and sowing. I am literally clueless on such topics. I used to hate computers, still not too fond of them, its the Internet I care about! Dr. Blofeld White cat 22:30, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! I appreciate that. Aargh I got really heady yesterday adding those figures, I'm taking a break from it today, maybe I'll do a few more tonight. I think I'll stub a couple of district towns you know what the articles were before before we moved them to ... District. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:37, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Have you looked at google maps recently, they seme to be getting better all the time. It is mind boggling how much potentially we could cover of the world in geography and roads alone. Using the maps we can start articles like Dăm Thnăm and at least give them a bit of text. The google maps have all the highways and roads of every country mapped out amazing. I just wish we had our own WikiMapia. They now have 9,590,000 places marked on the maps. I bet potentially we could have articles on most of those. With nearly 10,000,000 articles on towns and villages, landmarks and roads, just imagine what the actual article count would mean! Someday I hope we develop to the extent that you can explore any world map and we will have a decent articles about it, even on rural villages in communes in places like Vietnam and Cambodia. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:35, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I bet the coverage of some of the lesser mainstream countries other than Italy, Poland Germany and France are rather poor. Thats not to say that there isn't hundreds of articles missing from each of these countries but yes I know that Denmark and FInland have notable operas which are missing it truckloads. SOme time I'll try to get them onto here. There are a lot from the Baltic countries too that could be started. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:59, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Tell me about it, excatly why I created stubs like Lithuanian painters in a frantic effort to transwiki 0.0005% of the content on that wiiki alone. The more you explore other wikis the more you get a headache. A high proportion of articles you will visit, mnay of them decent have no wiki links to english in most of the categories related to that country. Worse still is that there seems to be a ridiculously low number who seem to care about it and then we could massively benefit from existing articles on other wikis. Therte "should" be a highly orgniased project dedicated to transwikiying. I've started two Antikrist and Axel Grandjean anyway, if you need a hand starting any or compile a missing list let me know and I'll be glad to help you. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:39, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Ah. I've created Category:Danish composer stubs. You could probably add {{Denmark-composer-stub}} to the articles needing it using AWB in Category:Danish composers. I'll put it on my list to transwiki the missing 200 or so composers too. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:50, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I did that with the architects too, created some which weren't even on Latvian wiki. WHat I mean by "structured" is I compare categories between ENglish and the foreign and then red link those which are missing and then stub them. Seems the best way to work to me anyway as it means every article will get blue linked. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:23, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
If you mention it to Jen I might see if we can make a proposal at Wp:COuncils for new transwiki project. Dr. Blofeld White cat 22:05, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's a good idea. Why not just call it something like WikiProject Translation? You might want to have a look at Wikipedia:Translation/Overhaul to see some of the things I've been doing and what I think is left to do to whip the translation system into shape. Calliopejen1 (talk) 14:19, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- On second thought, why not just repurpose WP:ECHO and do a recruitment drive? Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:32, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- I think we could safely leave messages for people who identify themselves as translators without being accused of spamming (not totally sure, but this seems fine as a common sense approach). We have categories of those, as well as a long list from ages ago. I think we should get all the infrastructure set up though before doing major outreach. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:37, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- No good reason, I've always just liked the sound of the word. Also, it's weird enough that no one else has ever snatched up the name before I could take it. (A good all-purpose internet handle.) When I was little, I had a picture book that I liked that had to do with the circus and learning colors, and each thing in the circus was a different color. The last page was a calliope colored like the rainbow. I always liked the idea of calliopes after that. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:45, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

don't think I have, but the title's clever! Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:55, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
One cannot visit another wikipedia without getting a serious headache. It really seems an impossible task at times doesn't it, we literally need millions of people working at building this site. Dr. Blofeld White cat 23:11, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Check out the new maps I've got us, Sumatra: Banda Aceh, Bali:Pejeng and a new one for Vietnam example see My Tho. I'm chuffed with the Indonedian island ones. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:45, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
I've just created them as location map templates now at Category:Indonesia location map templates. I had no idea Sadalmelik had ever created island maps! We even have some maps of more specific islands also I will have to chase up the coordinates on them. It is excellent neews as it means we can begin building a fuller coverage of Indonesia and have better locators by region, if you check out Indonesia on a world map its coastline is HUGE! Have a guess how many towns and villages there are? Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:24, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
On google maps over 34,000 towns and villages. I bet on Wikimapia the locations marked well over 100,000 as they mark landmarks too. 34,000 articles we could have, we have maybe 150 at present. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:34, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I'm probably not helping the headache get any better! We'll pretend we have them all thats best LOL. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:50, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Remember what I said about "if you build this thing they will come?" I started on the communes of Ca Mau and already by traffic editors have noticed and have started creating articles like Khánh An, U Minh. It really shows that potentially we get build what we want as there are always one or two around the world interested. Similarly remember the Bulgarian and Chinese templates I created? There are now editors steadily working on these too. Earlier I stubbed all of the Indian national highways too as I can see editors are working on them and can build on what I start.
Ah I've been pretty busy with the population figures to notice that you weren't here! There is one AWB task I have in mind actually, although it can wait until you are back again. It is copy and pasting infoboxes to all of the Category:Municipalities of Colombia by province. If the infboxes are all inserted into the articles, just changing whatever province it is in when going through the categories at a later date the infboxes can be built up with maps etc. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:13, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Here is what needs to be added going through eahc department. Obviously when the department changes you make the slight adjustments:
Here is the syntax for the Amazonas Department. Basically this needs inserting at the top of every article and just changing the label, and deparmtent flag/name when starting each department.
You can copy and paste it from here although of course you have to leave the no wiki out. You will have to make sure though that you change the label and flag/department name though when changing categories. It could probably we done fairly quickly manually but with AWB it would get done much quicker. You of course though will need to find the flag image files manually. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:55, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
So it should look like this for starters. Soon enough then the munic map and national pin locators can be added later and hopefully referenced opulation/area data.
Ay what pardon? Why are you a giant or something? Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:07, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Not a Great Khali then? Hehe. I know a guy about a year younger than me two streets away and his dad used to work with mine and he said his son is around 24 stone. 24 stone in case you are wondering is around 340 pounds I think. Now that is huge what I would call a lard factory LOL. He's around 6 foot I think but built like Big Daddy and kind a looks like a young Harold Bishop. Poor kid! Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:23, 20 March 2009 (UTC).
Ah 200lb is OK thats pretty normal, I bet average in the UK is around 5'7"-5'8" and 190lb. I'm down to a little over 15 stone, around 212lb now which is a perfectly good weight-height for me as I'm rather a tall chap. I think for every inch it adds 5 pounds or something. There are still three or four people I know that are even 2-3 inches taller than me which in my view is just way too tall. I'd dread to be like a Peter Crouch! Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:48, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry about it mate, I was pushing 230 around Christmas and was feeling bloated too but I'm sure glad I lost 15 pounds and have got myself fit again. I would still lift weights quite often but I would not bother doing any cardio like running etc and I was eating too much junk. I go running every other morning now and I have my own rowing machine and I have to say feel much better for doing so afterwards, cardio exercise I think is the best way to feel better afterwards. I should probably go for more regular walks thoughout the day and it would help me concentrate more me thinks. Anyway I'm making good progress with Vietnam, friad I had to do it manually after all. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:00, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey I started a new series, Template:Rice production Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:09, 21 March 2009 (UTC) Thanks. Without a doubt though the most important thing in regards to this wikipedia in the future is the growth of other wikipedias and spread of knowledge from their parts of the world which were previously inaccessible. I think it is a very exciting prospect that people in places like Vietnam, Nepal and Kazakhstan etc are steadily gaining access to the Internet and joining wikipedia. Give it 5-10 years probably much sooner in some places this project will explode in other languages. Arabic and Hindi notably but in many other languages too. I just transwikied Taskala and Chapaev, Kazakhstan from Russian and it is obivuous somebody in Taskala took those photos and wrote about the place. Ultimately though the most important thing is to think of the different wikipedias as one big project and keep the different language wikis as closely linked as possible. The most important thing probably on here is to get some sort of large scale language translation scheme going. If we can maximise its output and transwiki these articles as other wikipedias grow then we will develop much better. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:46, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Amazing I found a list of third level divisions of Tajiikistan and population! That means I can use this to build up templates in detail and cover the country better. This time last year there was absolutely nothing whatsoever. Things are really beginning to take off on here, I'm being able to access things which I never could a year or two ago and it would frustrate me so much. Situation is still not perfect was its getting better literally all the time. Another AWB task: capital district to District and move the ones in Category:Districts of Tajikistan Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh OK, thanks. I'm drawing up tables at User:Dr. Blofeld/Tajikistan Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:14, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Appreciate it thanks. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:36, 21 March 2009 (UTC) Looks good, can you correct the template and naming though you added "Gorno" twice to the link so it was Gorno-Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province not Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province! E.g see Shughnon District. Dr. Blofeld White cat 23:02, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the help re: DeGolyer
editThat was quick! Don't know if you're using something automated or just quick on the draw, but thanks — I knew there were more specific stub tags, but didn't know how to find the right one quickly. Hoping this article can grow rapidly, as he's an important figure for the whole Southwest region. The stub doesn't even begin to touch on his philanthropic side, or his work saving the Saturday Review, or anything like that. I'm about to add a section on the Talk page that will have several of the better links I found, to get others started.Lawikitejana (talk) 18:10, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
Gorno-Gorno-Badakhshan error
editPlease correct systematically the "Gorno-Gorno-Badakhshan" error that your recent changes have created. The correct name, as you no doubt know, is Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, which is sometimes abbreviated as Gorno-Badakhshan or GBAO. Thank you. --Zlerman (talk) 01:38, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- There are still zillions of them, starting here, in many of the districts, and probably in other places also. You need to do a systematic search and replace. --Zlerman (talk) 02:33, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks much! --Zlerman (talk) 02:44, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

editMate, thanks for catching that "parishs" typo, but drat, I've made the same typo on all the Asturian parish articles to date! I'll keep an eye to see if someone AWB fixes them, or else I'll go back and do it myself. Obviously, the ones I create here foward will be "parishes". --Rosiestep (talk) 01:44, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

editThanks for the kind note. Unfortunately the original contributor, who was a single-purpose editor from quite a ways back, apparently contributed some illustrations, which were referred to numerous times in the part about the engine breakup. The illustrations have been deleted, probably because of the usual lack of license information, so with regret I weeded all the references out of the text. They would have helped a lot, I'm sure. The versions of the article on other languages' wikis doesn't contain them. Maybe this random single-purpose editor will return someday and re-upload them with proper attribution. Cheers - Tempshill (talk) 17:37, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, that's why it looks better. Thanks! Tempshill (talk) 18:03, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

editAlbert, what are ya doin'? I just started the article and you're in there. If you want to take over the edits, that's cool with me, as you can see, I'm not the hottest at it by any means. :-) PR (talk) 18:53, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
PS - love your user page. Not only did I attend class at that National Historic Registered Building, I got married there four years ago. And I now live in the land of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ProperlyRaised (talk • contribs) 18:56, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
LOL! Tonight, I'm going to work on her husband's page. Strange that someone who is the g-daughter of a US president ended up married into Russian nobility. Their g-g-grandson works in DC, but I probably won't go that far down the family tree on privacy issues. Hey, can you fix those birth dates/death dates? Every time I do it, she turns out to be 132 years old. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ProperlyRaised (talk • contribs) 19:00, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
You are a gentleman, through and through. Thanks for deleting my date of graduation. I will e-mail you later, but back to work for me. By tomorrow, her husband's page will be up and I will be adding more to hers, fleshing it out a bit. Thanks again! (PS - Robot Chicken?) PR (talk) 19:13, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Hiya again! I finished out the page for her, so if you want to run thru it, put on your Nikes. I'll work on re-directs and a bit of his page tomorrow. Thanks for everything today! Hark upon the gale! --PR (talk) 01:43, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
OK! I finished hers, I did the husbands, I did some redirects and a disambiguation for her grandmother (the President's wife.) I think that about does it. Whew! PR (talk) 18:42, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Danish composers
editOK A. Herring. Can you wiki link List of Danish composers. I'll try to begin transwikiying tomworrow. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:08, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I've started 8 new articles anyway. Dr. Blofeld White cat 22:00, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Will try to tackle a few more later, I got side-tracked by Vietnam and copying several thousand sub districts of Indonesia onto here. I was wondering if you could do me a favor with AWB. Can you prgoramme AWB to convert all of the existing Vietnam province templates (which haven't been formatted already) like this. I'm in the middle of filling them out with communes to the initial conversion will make life much easier soo enough when I copy them into the templates. Category:Vietnam subdivision templates - I've done the first three and two or three others but the rest need converting with the sides. All of them need doing except for Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi at present. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Great. Tonight I'll make some more maps and start some more composers. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:31, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Actually I should be able to manage the template task manually. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:41, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I've done it, didn't twig i could get it done quickly thats all! I'm afraid though the listings will take rather longer... Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:04, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Ya know I pretyy much function as a bot at times. Somehow I just generated 8 articles a minute to start the communes! I was wondering if you could AWB project talk page tag the Vietnam ones later? Ya know WikiProject Vietnam|class=stub Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:35, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Its sure been a productive month on here, close to 2500 new articles so far this month. If only though I could transwiki 10 full articles a minute! Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:46, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Gets so much cooler when we have images. Check out Cô Tô, Oc Eo, Tri Tôn. Some day we will have full articles on these places and images too! Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:32, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I definately think that Vietnamese wikipedia will develop to the point where they have information on the communes too, just a matter of time. I've encountered one or two from Vietnam on here already which are watching progress, one IP who was adding missing communes to my nav boxes was from Ho Chi Minh City I checked and another IP was from Hanoi. I'm sure the members will grow on Viet wiki and will spread the info so eventually transferring info on these communes will become possible. Probably in a few years a lot of the communes will have their own websites on the Internet, there are already a large number of district websites growing up on here I was browsing earlier. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:46, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah its cool to see some of my local photos too being used on like Indonesian and Czech wiki etc. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:55, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for that. Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:28, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh I'm taking it easy today. I might make a start on Colombia later though manually I'll see. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:24, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Wow you have been busy. The idea of course is that every article eventually has afilled out infobox like Belén de Bajirá Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:40, 26 March 2009 (UTC) If you could continue when you can with COlombia I'll gradually fill in the boxes. One thing though if the article already has an infobox it doesn't need two! Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:08, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Yeah you did add one to Barranquilla LOL, but nobody seemd to notice... Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:13, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Well exactly, just shows how neglected countries like Mexico and Colombia are on here. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:30, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Yeah admittedly I don't know what it is but few people in the UK who I know and myself included know very little about Belgium. People could probably tell you a fair deal about France, Spain or Germany but Belgium, not so much. The irony of that, as Blofeld himself is from Bruges. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:45, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Ah someone else I've started an article on has died Thubten Jigme Norbu. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:46, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Wow quickest expansion ever? And people wonder why I create stubs: Anton Kolm, Sascha-Film, Xinjiang Medical University! Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:53, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Thats quite awesome. If only we had the numbers to transfer all this content from other wikis. We really need a solid translation project going. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:30, 26 March 2009 (UTC) Cool thanks for the help we nailed that in minutes! Next one List of noctuid genera:A 4273 missing articles... OK I got as far as Acanthopolia form the beginnign then realised I hadn't changed the reference link (even though I could have sworn I did). So its just those few up until there and a few you started that need fixing. SHouldn't take a minute or two, take care Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:47, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi sorry for the delay I've been in Cardiff all day, yeah go for it using AWB to the max. As long as the reference is right, should be fine. I'll resume on those Danish composera tomorrow most likely. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:09, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Editing: James Kwak
editI am a novice with this editor. You put James Kwak in the category of "American economists." Although The Baseline Scenario blog is certainly an economics site, and Simon Johnson is a professional economist, nothing in Kwak's background would suggest he has any academic training as an economist. He has mostly been an entrepeneur and consultant since getting his PhD in history. He obviously understands a lot about economics, and is good at explaining financial issues, I do not know whether this is the proper category for him. MidwestGeek (talk) 01:46, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
I think "American businesspeople" is fine, at least, for now. MidwestGeek (talk) 16:24, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Oy, vis ze new pages!
editMind slowing down for a bit with your AWB stubs? I'm trying to patrol the new pages and your constant new articles make it difficult to find possible problem pages; I have to patrol 30 of yours to get to one article made by another user. Thanks, Ironholds (talk) 01:37, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- Excellent, and thanks for the speedy response. - I'd agree with the comments about Blofeld's work in that he creates masses of near-useless stubs and refuses to talk to anyone who disagrees with him. I think a redlink ("you can create this article and help the wiki!") is more alluring to new users than something that says to the casual reader "here is a line. The only way you will get more than this line is if you are willing to TRANSLATE THE ARTICLE FROM FRENCH! VITE! VITE!". Ironholds (talk) 02:09, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Really??? Have you not seen all of my thousands of articles "with" content you cheeky mother crunker. Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:02, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed on the last bit. Would you happen to have a resource that indicates the species within the genera? I'm just filling those out in your stubs as I go along. Ironholds (talk) 02:14, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I managed to find some info for Barbesola at least, so I've expanded it a bit and I am currently writing an article on one of the species. Ironholds (talk) 02:20, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

- Thanks for the barnstar! Really, it is no problem; I burnt out on fauna articles a while back, and it is nice to get slowly back into the swing of things after a string of articles articles about lawyers. I just finished Barbesola defixa; as you say, a stub is better than nothing at all. Ironholds (talk) 02:25, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Filter 96
editThe new abuse filter extension has a filter that recognizes created articles that do not include their title in the text. You have repeatedly tripped this filter this morning. Have you got any idea how it happened? The articles obviously include the title somewhere. Do you use magicwords? - Mgm|(talk) 10:10, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Hallsteinn Sigurðsson
editA tag has been placed on Hallsteinn Sigurðsson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hey you need to stop apologising. You shouldn't have to apologise for creating articles and neither should you for not being here. You're a wonderful help on here. Hey I was wondering if you tell me the place you work or the nearest building that has an article. I've been exploring Google Street View today and its awesome. I've been walking down streets in my town and in San Fransico and NYC. Let me know ot would be cool to see streets who know of on the maps. Afraid I'm having virus trouble again, false alerts again. Edit rates
editYour edit rate for article creation has started to stray into "community approval needed" territory. Would you mind keeping it down to around 6-7 epm? (Of course, no one doubts your integrity, but policy has an annoying habit of ignoring integrity.) Cheers, - Jarry1250 (t, c) 21:09, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Well when you have 4250 missing articles needing starting on a genus of a major family which in turn have species then they are pretty important articles even if they are just "moths". The faster the better in my view, the same task still needs to be done and nobody has to patrol them so it shouldn't matter but yes I agree Jarry the "community" can by like that. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:57, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
wow you've made amazing progress. Well done! I notice nobody else thanked you, just a criticism or two, pretty normal then! I'm afraid my computer has a virus so I'm unable to edit at present, every other page I visit it comes up with "threat of virus attack". It started a few days ago when I was looking on a Vietnam website for info and I clicked page back and suddenly I was directed to this hard core porn site. That happened a few times over the last few days until yesterday lunch time when I was looking at Machu Picchu on google maps did a google search and suddenly it did it again and came up with all these warnings! Then it tried to get me to pay $100 to buy a new potection package. Somebody obviously trying to tap into my details, rogues. I can still edit a little but I'll have to keep copying and pasting so I don't lose my edits. Keep up the good work! Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:10, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Great I've actually only managed to make any edits today myself because of sheer patience with it. Every third page I click it comes up with the blank screen and internet security warning. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:34, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Mmm my enthusiasm has died a little at the moment anybody I have regular spells when I just don't feel doing much, sometimes it just seems TOO much work to even begin to edit wikipedia fully. Perhaps a small wikibreak is on the cards, and give the computer a rest. WHen I return of course we will have an article on every moth? Hehe. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:27, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
I was looking earlier, yes there are a few missing articles on other families, but mos tof them have like 10-15 genera, evne less in places so it wouoldn't be a huge task. You can always explore other families of moths and butterflies and see what is missing, take care. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:34, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:In the Infield... by Kienholz.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:In the Infield... by Kienholz.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

Errors in taxobox
editJust to let you know, the last batch of Lymantriidae genera you created all have the same taxobox that redirects to the genus "Lymantria", and not the genus the article is about. Cheers, and keep up the good work. By the way, if you want, you could make the articles you create more usefull by inserting the genus authority and the species that are in the genus. editWaz up!! I thought you could use some more herring to keep you company. Must admit I'm not feelin all that enthusiastic about wiki at the moment as you can see. I'll try to get back into it within a few days, I need some inspiration! Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:46, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL what are you doing? LOL. Evil Selleck. Why's that? Is Selleck the devil of lighthouses? Selleck always reminds me of my dad, I think its the fact that both look weird when they shave off their moustaches. They should know by now to ditch the 70s porn star look but it aint workin! LOL Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:39, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
You know you'll have to delete that image as the one of Selledk is copyrighted Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:58, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah LOL those bristles could probably bring down an army themselves! Can't see why some guys wear moustaches in all honesty, but I must admit I've had a half goatee on my chin though since I was 16 as its always suited me and my face shape, not a huge ugly thing like James Hetfield but a smaller one rather less extreme one which looks natural a bit like this. I would feel weird if I shaved it off, I guess moustache wearers feel the same LOL. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:10, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL. Mmmooohahaa! Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:14, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah its pretty low maintenance I just use the trimmer on my electric shaver every few days to keep it in order and am clean shaven other than that although I occasionally a bit of stubble if I'm feelin lazy! Yeah I want to start more of those Danish composers, the problem of course is the more work it entails translating to less you feel like doing many. If however I could quickly get them blue linked I would feel more up for doing them en masse. Its the quality vs quantity thing though isn't it. The sheer amount missing vs "the community" who expect the stubs to be started with fuller information. If for instance you cinsidered creating 1000 subst: geenrated articles it would seem pretty straighforward, however the thought of creating 1000 articles with translated content is considerably more off-putting, Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:24, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Have a guess which wikipedia stresses me out the most and gives me a fat headache? Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:38, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Ooh no, definately 10 times for headachey than any other wiki, it has to be German wikipedia. Every time I access German wikipedia it just drives my head into pain. Its just their standards are so high for articles and there is just thousands upon thousands of articles missing or devoid of content on here which German wikipedia has full, referenced quality text on. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:55, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Lighthouse pic
editI think it has a fair shot. It looks good technically, with no obvious problems. Though it's very compressed (528kb), I'm not seeing any obvious artifacting. My caveat is that I'm not sure if it has the je ne sais quoi that makes a featured picture, and since the subject is just a landscape, standards will be high (it could easily be retaken). I think it's worth a nomination. Calliopejen1 (talk) 21:45, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Just been looking at the RFAs. Its ridiculous. Some people have barely been here since since October yet are administrator candidates and have had zilch experience in potential conflicts or even decent editing. Seems the most successful candidates these days are the ones who have little experience and therefore have had little opportunity to get into any tiffs. The Knot Garden
editYou only say "The Knot Garden" couldn't be that bad because you haven't heard it. Tippet's done some good work: I'll admit to actually liking Child of Our Time. But The Knot Garden is just a pretentious piece of Shakespeare-bashing where Tippet has heard that great composers sometimes use discordance and leitmotifs, but he does not understand why. Or how to balance discordance with concordance. Even the jazz song has a discordant pedal note. Oh, and there's an on-stage rape of a little girl. Looks like they'll be kept anyway. Interestingly I had another disagreement with the nominaotr User:Xeno over something earlier, about the Ecuador town and corrigimiento categories. How are you anyway? I haven't spoken much to you in the last weke or so. I see to have had a lot of heated discussions this week yes, again about trivial things which people make a big fuss of! Today its been about some POV obsessive user about plagiarism and whether it necessary to make a proposal everytime you make minor categorical changes. Me wants some peace! Just Template:Districts of Panama at the moment. I tagged the first province or tow, you can see the Central America|Panama=yes tags in the tlak pages. Theres only a few but I didn't finish taggin them.I've been trying to even out my editing on here at the moment, I started some Czech films the other day and the also some Central American writers. I managed to write a proposed DYK on a Honduran novel Blanca Olmedo which I thought was interesting. Maybe tomorrow I will get all those Danish composers started even if sub stubs. Oh I've also managed to guide a user on here called Bugboy to get his scripting sorted with some help so hopefully this guy will be creating thousands of missing articles on species. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:10, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Nice job! The missing article; why doesn't that surprise me? Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:48, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Google translate isn't as good for Portuguese I've found. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:30, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
AWB request. Can you rename all the Category:Localities in Sweden by County to Category:Cities, towns and villages in ... County? Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:03, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
COol. The categories have been created in Category:Cities, towns and villages in Sweden. Just needs filling by county and this cat also needs emptying along with Category:Villages in Sweden. This can happen gradually I guess. One more thing. User:Ksnow has spent the last like year slowly adding the navigations boxes to the communes. Could you use AWB to amdinster the nav templates. His last edit was Denèvre so I guess from there to Z the template needs adding {Haute-Saône communes}. Might give the guy a nice surprise. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:00, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Spiffing. Its hurting my fingers even typing at the mo. I overdid it playing Hawaiian tunes on my acoustic yesterday finger picking which I rarely do as I mostly use a plectrum. I've also been playing Free Bird guitar solo over and over and now have worn through skin on my left too, like through 3 layers of skin! Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:10, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah the thing is I've been playing guitar for 18 years and my fingers have toughened up to the level you;d expect yet I still always have calluses on my fingers, I've always got holes in my fingers! One of the reasons I don't tend to play the acoustic guitar so much is that the strings are tougher than normal electric strings, bending them too, I prefer playing electric. But when I occaisonally play acoustic and then plug in the electic afterwards within some time of playing my finger start to get damaged. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:26, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Hardcore! Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:53, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
It just occurred to me. Mike Myers wears a toupe. Look at his hair. It looks like a classic example of a toupe. Perhaps he is nearer Dr. Evil in terms of hair then we might think LOL. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:56, 17 April 2009 (UTC) Happy Birthday amigo! Might I ask how old? Yes Myers's head looks like you'd blow it and it would fall off. Very suspicious hair indeed. Hell I didn't even know John Wayne (later films) or Sean Connery wore a toupe in their films so for me to spot that it really has to be! My sister literally says Myers makes her "skin crawl", I guess the guy has to rely on purely his humor to get the women! Dr. Blofeld White cat 10:50, 18 April 2009 (UTC) Nother AWB task. Can you tag all of Skizzik's Swedish town articles with WikiProject Sweden|class=stub? I'd do it myself but it will save time and allow me to move on to sorting out Turkish towns! Gradually I am taking over the world! Thanks Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:38, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
You're about 11 months younger than me then. I turn 26 on May 4! Cannot believe a year has passed since I turned 25, it literally feels like 3 months ago. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:53, 18 April 2009 (UTC) Quick! Thanks Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:19, 18 April 2009 (UTC) Actually yes. See Template:Districts of Turkey. I was wondering if you could add [[:Category:Cities, towns and villages in ... Province by province. I've done the first three in the list so far. Basically just visit the province page and it lists the main district articles (which are merged with the towns). Basically all that needs doing is to add the relative category it is on. See Category:Cities, towns and villages in Turkey, and see the empty categories I've created under reach region. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:27, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Cool, it is definately better to do things like this using AWB as it saves a great deal of time. So see Category:Cities, towns and villages in Denizli Province for example. I've done 3 provinces so far and it felt like ages! Don't have to worry about anybody objecting to adding these categories as I spoke to one of the most active members of WP:Turkey about it. As long as you don't remove Category:Cities in Turkey. Perhaps later once they are all recategorized we can empty Category:Towns in Turkey and Category:Villages in Turkey. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:33, 18 April 2009 (UTC) If you explore the sub cats of Category:Cities, towns and villages in Turkey you can see the province categories have all been started just need to visit the relative province articles and add the relative categories. Also we have a new pic of Fort Shevchenko -I asked a flickr user to change the license! Now if you can take care of Turkey I will start some more Guinea sub prefectures me thinks. Tomorrow I'll definately stub some more Danish composers. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:37, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey if I you don't feel like doing the Turkish categories let me know. I need to know though because most of the categories are empty at the mo and I don't want to have to recreate them! Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:22, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
OK cool. Right I iz going to sub stub those Danish composers now, reckon I can last 2 minutes without somebody complaining and reporting me? Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:01, 20 April 2009 (UTC) It certainly worked with starting the Mexican municipalities. I'll do a batch at a time and then plough through them. The under construction tag should indicate this Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:13, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
I find that if you do a batch it kinda forces you to do more rather than starting each one fully each time when it seems so lethargic. It gives you something to work with - benchmarks. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:17, 20 April 2009 (UTC) Yep thats it exactly. Cheers Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:08, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
I also need to start the Honduran Deputies of Congress. Don't know if you are interested. Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:37, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Cool. Perhaps they have some images of old Polynesian schooners and other ships. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:45, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Bhutanese politicians. Oh how the web is growing Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:27, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
National Congress of Palau. A shame the links don't work though to access the profiles. Darn you done them, oh well. Its quite fun browsing actually googling obscure things. I just started JBN-TV the Jesus Broadcasting Network! Kiriabti Knitting Association I wonder.. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:35, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Everything alright buddy? You seem either wiki-bonked or have a lot of work stuff on your mind!! Don't worry about those Turkish towns I'll get em done today. Take care. Dr. Blofeld White cat 10:08, 23 April 2009 (UTC) Yeah I did some manually earlier about 5 or 6 provinces. Its just the categories I created have bene empty for around five days now so I'm a little concerned that some trigger happy admin will come along and delete them! Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:05, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah thanks for that I really appreciate it. It aint much fun. I've finished the first and second regions now. I believe you did most of the third? As long as we can get it done between us in a few days that'd be cool. At the moment I'm getting a few missing mountains of Peru onto here. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:09, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey check out Tea production in Sri Lanka. I've been developing it from a stub. I'm thinking of developing it all the way. What do you think? The main problem is sometimes I don't have the motivation to work on one article for too long. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:23, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Asturian parishes
editHi AH. I've got a question about the Asturian parish articles I've created in the last month. The administrative division hierarchy looks like this: Spain, Asturias (principality), municipality, parish (administrative division)/parroquia, village. I didn't include infoboxes but, of course, it's gnawing on me that they're missing, and they should be added. I looked at the Galician parishes category and found one article, A Agualada, Coristanco, which uses a modified Settlement template. I think it would work fine for Asturian parishes. Could it be added easily to the Asturian parish articles with AWB, and, if so, would you be interested in working on that? --Rosiestep (talk) 23:16, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- That would be great! Just about every article in Category:Parishes in Asturias needs the infobox. I suggest starting with List of municipalities in Asturias. It links each municipality, and then each municipality article has its parishes linked. Let me know if you need any other info. Thanks much. --Rosiestep (talk) 00:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- That was fast! The Allande parish infoboxes are just right. --Rosiestep (talk) 03:45, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- No worries :) --Rosiestep (talk) 03:08, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
- They look good! Eventually they will probably be expanded like on the de wiki. Rosiestep (talk) 14:06, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- No worries :) --Rosiestep (talk) 03:08, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Timothy Maude
editI saw this article that you made an edit. I'm currently proposing a minor change http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(people)#Proposed_change that could make General Maude's article safe from deletion. He's known for one event, 9-11. Yet he has some career history that people want to read about. By strict interpretation of the rules, one event people get deleted. I propose to have a guideline which we already sort of follow; if someone has some sort of career or personal history to write about, then an article is ok. What do you think? A friendly comment
editPlease don't (re)create any more "articles" like World war 1 who won, especially as I just indef blocked the SPA that first created it, in case some people get silly ideas regarding hosiery. LessHeard vanU (talk) 19:55, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- My apologies. Would you prefer to have the above deleted from your page history, or leave it as another reminder that I cock up from time to time? LessHeard vanU (talk) 20:03, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Strange speedy deletion tag
editHello, AlbertHerring,
I notice that you recently tagged the Jules Alex Nyom article with a speedy deletion tag:
- {{DB|1984||Nyom, Jules Alex}}
1984 doesn't seem like a valid reason for speedy deletion to me. Did you mean to place him in the Category:1984 births? Perhaps with:
- [[Category:1984 births|Nyom, Jules Alex]]
I have made that change to that category in the article. So if that was your goal, please remove the speedy deletion tag. I don't want to remove it myself in case you did mean to use it.
Thanks! — Ken g6 (talk) 17:29, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- On second thought, after reading the speedy deletion tag, I'm going to remove it, as it says to do if the article doesn't meet the criteria for speedy deletion. — Ken g6 (talk) 17:33, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Hola
editHi. Yes I've done Aegean and Black Sea regions anyway manually. Yes in regards to featured articles I just wish I got paid for it or had more of an incentive to stick at it. Even it was in the form of vouchers or whatever I would definately feel more compelled to go for more features. I think the quality of this encyclopedia would develop dramatically if people were given more of an incentive to do so. The word commercial or money seems to get people all bitter and twisted on here though. But if they seriously want an encyclopedia of the highest quality I think people need more of an incentive dedicate their time to improving one article. A small percentage of people may be willing to do it out of pleasure but the majority who have work and other committments would not bother, this of course along with the very strict standards is why our featured article content is atrocious in terms of number of articles. If wikipedia is to develop and content quality to dramtically increase we need to find a way to mobilise the sheer numbers who use wikipedia to help write it. Millions of people use wikipedia but do nothing or little to develop it. If you think the numbers who have access to wikipedia we are seriously underachiveing in quality overall. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:35, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh yes to date it is a remarkable achievement in terms of content and number of articles but the average quality of articles is still pretty low. A great number of articles on important subjects are unreferenced, or seriously lacking any decent research or citations or are completely undeveloped when by now they ought to be. Wikipedia will amaze you in places who detailed and top notch the coverage and quality is like on some popular US TV series or something and then it will equally shock you how bad some of the articles can be on some really seemigly core topics like major world rivers, cities etc. Overall the information given on wikipedia is amazing but I want to see far more citations and a greater overall quality. Its getting there, the most important thing I think is to be consistent, which unfortuately is very unikely given the uneveness and bias to editing on here. Obviously if we are getting new content onto here the quality will initially be low , I mean on more of the high priority subjects, Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:48, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah there are a lot of scholarly people who think wikipedia is a joke. But there are also many unviersity professors who I know of personally and even many newspaper editors who use wikipedia daily and think it is a great idea. Even scholars like my good friend User:John Hill who is 63 years old thinks the concept of wikipedia is an awesome one. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:11, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm gonna tell you something by email. Give it a few minutes and then check. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:13, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Emailed. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:28, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
Replied. Have fun and then enjoy some Turkish delight for the evening! Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:09, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
I really appreciate that thanks. Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:30, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry I haven't any requests at the mo. BTW what web browser to you use? Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:20, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
I've just started using Firefox too. I like it, I gave google chrome a trial the opther day but I foundnavigating and editing more fiddly than normal actually. I usually have the skin on here on modern but I alternatate every now and then between cologbne blue which I have it on now. I really think the standard monobook is not all that attractive. To me it looks very dated, like 10 years out of date in terms of graphics and logo. It makes a difference when browsing though to be able to have choice. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:50, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
WOw have you see the List of billionaires (2009). Last year the highest had $62 billion. This year 40 billion is top. Gates lost $18 billion in one year and climbs back up to first! This financial crisis had seen Gates lose $18 billion of his personal worth like 1/3 of his wealth. I somehow doubt he will be struggling to buy milk any time in the near future but that's an enormous loss isn't it. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:03, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Before you go to bed have a listen to this. I love it. So soothing and magical! The White Album is actually my favoutite Beatles album followed by Help!. Every time I listen to Help its like the year is 1965 literally. Amazing. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:40, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey. I was wondering if you could use AWB to add this to all of the existing articles in Template:Mexico State. Most of them haven't the map yet but have the infoboxes. Could you use AWB to add Mexico and 300 to the paramters in the example? The paramters should be there already, just need to add Mexico and 300 to them. Dr. Blofeld White cat 08:38, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Cool! I've just negotiated somebody on flickr to use an image of adventurer Charley Boorman, you know the article I wrote by week By Any Means. I asked a few people but it looks like I may end up with too many images to use in the article! I have another permission but he has to license it yet. The travels he gets up to around the world are amazing and he is one of the nicest guys around to boot. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:15, 28 April 2009 (UTC) That means I can get around sometime to doing Template:Oaxaca. A LOT of red links huh? Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:24, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Somebody has to break the news eh? Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:52, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
The King says: "Uh-ha". "Viva Las Vegas baby". Ulverston (hardly Vegas LOL). Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:56, 28 April 2009 (UTC) Oh it seems we have an AFD already!! A 5.0 Mexican earthquake is notable but a 3.7 one in England which is rare isn't? Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:58, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
I've redirected it to the history of cumbria article for now which is the best thing to do, an AFD is a waste of time. If it hits national news headlines then it is definately notable, not to mention that earthquakes are very rare in the UK. But I guess it can be summarised in the parent article. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:13, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Its pretty amazing really how helpful some people are. Out of the 6 people I've asked five replied, two didn't work out because of the non commercial thing and one is still pending but the other two did. So we now not only have one image but two. I think it works well to request specific images and it saves making messy OTRS agreements. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:27, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Oooo almost. You added "px" to the end of the 300 which means it displays as a fucntion error in red in the infobox. Why they can't probramme it like the image skyline where you do indeed add e,g "300px" beats me. For some reason it has to be just "300" not "300 px)". If you see San Mateo Atenco you can see the error comes up in the infobox. How long did it take to do? Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:46, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry about. Thanks. Yesterday I started List of German Christian Democratic Union politicians. We have 111 articles compared to 3500 on German wiki. I am gonna finish fomratting it now and maybe red link them gradually. I may sub stub them all. Worse case scenario people will moan at me and place something at AFD but igven they have articles on German wiki and obvious info avialable to expand them all shouldn't be a problem. The continuous conflict though is bwteen those who expect wikipedia to be a complete encyclopedia and those who think of it as a working progress and development. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:00, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes and in the case with Germany there is some images of notable politicians and judges etc from the German rchives donation. I'll ask a script coder to see if he knows how you can programme whole pages to be linked [[]]. WOuld save doing it manually. A few will need dabbing. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:29, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
How? I've asked Micke if he has any ideas. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:12, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
OK I'm just going to blue links the remaining Danish composers using the under construction I'll add birth and detah dates and maybe some text to them through this evening. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:36, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
OK. I've blue linked all the Danish composers except the odd one. Now I am going through adding birth dates. If you feel like adding birth dates and default sorting some later let me know! WOuld be best to work backwards from W as I've reached G so far! Good thing is at least we now have more articles on Danish compsers even if they need an awful lot of work! Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:50, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Phew hard going! No rush I'm going to try to get them sorted within a few days, it was bugging me though started them slowly so I thought hey what the heck. I think we ought to start a new policy WP:BALLS (meaning "an editor who shuns all standard conventions and policies tp undertake a task which he or she believes is beneficial in the long term for wikipedia not giving a monekys what any other editor thinks of him in doing so"). SOund good LOL? Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:04, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL I may very well include a new section on WP:BOLD. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:23, 29 April 2009 (UTC) If you are doing any more of the Danish composers later once you've added the dates can you remove the under construction banner. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:21, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
I'll try and get them done tomorrow then, maybe I will translate a few of them. Shame there aren't many Peter Schmeicel clones about to translate them! P.S I see you;ve also been have annoying image bot trouble. Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:24, 29 April 2009 (UTC) Any idea how you change the text size and font type using Mozilla? I can change it using Internet Explorer but can't do it for this! Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:23, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
If you click zoom once it upgrades the text I figured. I've just been watching footage of me and my sister from 1987. My dad put it from the old videos onto DVD. We looked so cute! Its like a little mini me walking about. LOL my mum has a Brian May style perm in it and my dads wearing skimpy 80s clothes LOL. Sometimes I wonder how I have fairer hair as my dad had jet black hair and my mum "naturally" medium brown (today its blonde), everyone looks so young LOL. I can remember a lot of the things that happened in the video -I was only four! A lot of the footage is taken at Saundersfoot. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:36, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Interesting. Fraid I am pretty clueless about most welsh traditions and cultures though. ONe museum you'd find interesting is St Fagans National History Museum where you can enter buildings from the 19th century old Welsh cottages which wreak of wood smoke. It is quite an amazing experience and really takes you back in time. You'd also perhaps like Danarogof caves. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:50, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

The Dalles early.jpg
editYour bot tagged this - I had put the US gov't PD tag on it already when it was tagged, and I don't know what caused it to be flagged. It's public domain, due not only to its age but to the fact that it's a product of a US government project. --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 15:36, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
- The bot flagged the image because you didn't provide source information: "PD-USGov" is a statement of copyright status, not a source. Things like a book title and page, a catalog number, or a URL are sources. --Carnildo (talk) 23:39, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Nunavut geo birding locales
editI'm out of town again (now business travel) so it makes editing more hit and miss but I am working on some Canadian geo articles about birding locales. I'll get back with you next week if it looks like they might be good candidates for some AWB work... just not sure about that for the moment. I think they need a unifying infobox or a bottom template. For now, back to work. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:06, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Solomons
editYou could expand any of them using this. Just an option. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:19, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
You are of course welcome for a Starbucks coffee in my new Hong Kong headquarters later too, no elevator tricks of course. Like the new location? Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:23, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
There are two articles I started on the front page at once! La Porta was also started by me! Dr. Blofeld White cat 21:06, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah for every few nice helpful people though with images you get some real petty unpleasant ones. ONe guy responded saying "you do nothing to contribute to this site, it send out the wrong message if I unlicense my images and encourage people like you to trawl the site". Nice guy huh? Dr. Blofeld White cat 10:43, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I guess. Hey I was browsing John Lennon's article earlier just started the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel. Can't believe we didn't have an article on it! Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:24, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
I was just browsing flickr for some images of the hotel and I came across my sisters dead ringer here. They say everybody has a clone but the resemblance is uncanny, I shall have to post her the image, pretty scary likeness! Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:42, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Hehe "No slacking McFly". I'll see if I can find some other sources for this hotel. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:47, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Its a great new article, might want to fill out the citations with "cite web" rather than "citation" though. I bet there are a huge number of articles on painters in the colonies missing from this period too. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi! I was wondering if you could project tag all of the Dutch films I started yesterday adding these. Could you tag em? Dr. Blofeld White cat 12:44, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Go for it! Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:43, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Ah thanks. I'm taking it easy today. I'm feeling in a humrous mood. I've just been watching comedy stuff on YouTube. Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:27, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
