Your recent edits

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 03:35, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Wikipedia Article

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that the page you created was tagged as a test page under section G2 of the criteria for speedy deletion and has been or soon may be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 15:20, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

Signature and AfC

Hi, Something is wrong with your signature: at Talk:Devonshire Sound Studios it goes to a non-existent user. Also, I see that you have only a few hundred edits for the moment. While I appreciate your willingness to help, accepting Devonshire Sound Studios suggests that you should perhaps first get more experience yourself before trying to help out other users. Happy editing! --Randykitty (talk) 15:49, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

CVUA

Jjjjjjdddddd, I've added you as my student. This is your CVUA page. I will regularly assign more work as you complete what I've already assigned. If you plan on being away from editing for a week or more, please let me know. I prefer to see assignments completed in a few days. I also notice you've been using Page Curation and have installed Igloo. We're not using any tools to start, so be sure to discontinue use for CVUA work. Chris Troutman (talk) 20:28, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

You've been gone for two weeks. You never completed the first assignment. I specifically asked that you let me know if you'd be gone from Wikipedia so I can only assume something changed with you. For that reason, I'm terminating our arrangement. Should you return you'll have to reapply for a trainer. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:59, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

Hello ScribeYearling. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).

Declined speedy?

I noticed you declined the Loose Hands speedy deletion request. You didn't post a reason. Shall we repost the speedy tag now that the reference proposed by the author suggests even more that it is made up by the editor? I think AfD discussion will waste time needed for genuinely borderline articles. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 09:48, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Repost of Online Film & Television Association

A tag has been placed on Online Film & Television Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Your edit to Rocks Village Bridge

Hello. I noticed that you had added a tag to the page Rocks Village Bridge, which I created about notability. However, that message basically says the same thing as the {{unreferenced}} tag, which is already there. Because of this, I have removed it. Please refrain from adding extra tags to articles in the future as it just creates "clutter". Thanks. ChecKemzV (talk) 20:21, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

There is a number of different editors removing your tags. These are people who have been editing tennis articles for a while now.

Please stop adding them back. The consensus here seems pretty clear to me, even if you don't like it.

Hi. We appreciate your enthusiasm but with only 233 edits to articles it is most unlikely that you have sufficient experience to be patrolling new pages. Please consider completing the course you wished to start at the WP:CVUA and when you have demonstrated your knowledge with a few hundred reverts of vandalism, you may be ready to attempt New Page Patrol. This is just a selection of some of your recent patrols that were incorrect or unhelpful: [1][2] [3][4][5][[6]][7][8][9]. Thank you for the barnstar

Hi Jjjjjjdddddd, and thank you for the barnstar!
In my RfA in answer to the question "What administrative work do you intend to take part in?", I wrote "things you won't notice."
I do a lot of speedy deletion work, that's true. But what I am most proud of in that area is rescuing speedy deletion nominations for good encyclopedia articles. I haven't kept a log of those. Maybe I should have. But then again, I am quite pleased that - with the exception of your good self in this particular case - most people are quite unaware of just how low profile an admin I am. I like it that way.
If you need any help and guidance whatsoever, please let me know.
Thanks again! Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 11:08, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Draft:PASHA Insurance

Hi. After your move, Wikipedia:PlaceholderArticles for deletion/Draft:PASHA Insurance had just a {{db-g6}} tag on it with rationale "Moved to Miscellany for Deletion", and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Draft:PASHA Insurance was a redirect to it. So I have deleted both, but I don't now see a corresponding entry in the MfD list. Do you plan to make one, or would you like me to resurrect the original AfD and list it at MfD? And have you told Prymshbmg who originally raised it, what's going on? Regards, JohnCD (talk) 13:36, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited What are those, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page American. Tip of the Day

User Subpages

Many users like to create user subpages to store various bits of information such as welcome templates or other information. For example, if you are drafting a new page that is not ready to "go live", or proposing major changes in redrafting an existing page, a user subpage may be very useful.

To create a subpage simply visit your User page and then append the name of the subpage in your browser's URL bar. For example, http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:CoolDude would become http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/User:CoolDude/MySubpageName. When you press the ↵ Enter key you will be prompted to create the new subpage.

If you no longer need a subpage, or wish to have it deleted, you can mark the page with {{db-owner}} or {{db|reason}}.

Speedy deletion nomination of FIRST Velocity Vortex

Hello Jjjjjjdddddd,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged FIRST Velocity Vortex for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Art+Feminism, Saturday, May 6, at Jacob Lawrence Gallery, UW Seattle

Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon

Despite its wide reach, content on Wikipedia suffers from the bias of its editors: white, technically inclined, English-speaking men that live in developed, majority-Christian countries. This represents an alarming absence of voices in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge.

In an effort to change this, the Jake is organizing a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Saturday, May 6th, 1 - 5 pm. Our mission is to bring together diverse communities to participate in Wikipedia editing, and improve its coverage of queer people and women of color in the arts.

We will provide childcare, snacks, and tutorials for the beginner editor.

Bring your laptop, power-cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. No previous Wikipedia experience required!

RSVP at and stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates.

What: Improving Wikipedia's coverage on queer and women artists of color
When: Saturday, May 6, 1-5pm
Where: Jacob Lawrence Gallery, Art Building #132, 1915 NE Chelan Ln, Seattle, WA 98105
Who: People of all gender identities and expressions are invited to participate.
What to bring: A laptop and power cord. Access to UW wifi will be provided for non-UW affliated participants.

SuggestBot suggestions

Hi, I removed a couple of SuggestBot templates requesting suggestions. There had been too many edits to this talk page after them being added for SuggestBot to find, so it ignores them. Feel free to add one again whenever you need suggestions, and thanks for using SuggestBot! Cheers, Nettrom (talk) 15:36, 4 June 2017 (UTC)
