Heauinlie

edit

I see that in this edit you removed "heauinlie". I understand that literally it means "heavenly". However, that doesn't mean it is not used to mean "homeland" as well. Are you claiming it isn't? Debresser (talk) 22:31, 19 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes. The only source I can even find of the word is in the pre-1700 section of the Dictionary of the Scots Language, which uses it as an adjective for the word kingdom. This extract also has the word "patrie", an old Scots word (not attributed since 1600) borrowed from French, meaning "homeland" - I figure this is what the user who added it meant. I am a Scots speaker and have certainly never heard either word used in speech, with this meaning, or seen it in recent Scots writing. SaoiDunNeachdain (talk) 22:47, 19 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
I see. Thank you for your reply. Debresser (talk) 19:48, 21 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Deletion requests

edit

Regarding the multiple userpage deletions you've requested, do you still have access to your old account? If you could log in and confirm here that you are the same user, that would be extremely helpful.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:44, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I was coming to ask the same thing regarding User:The Laxative/A Movement of Moles. We need to see some verification that there is a connection between accounts. Or is there a currently active editor or admin who is aware of these multiple clean start accounts that could vouch for you? Liz Read! Talk! 23:08, 18 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid I don't appear to have access to the old accounts - it was a very long time ago, way too long to remember a password. I have no idea if there's anyone that could vouch for me. I don't know how I'd go about proving it but there is private information on some of those pages. SaoiDunNeachdain (talk) 19:06, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Dunnichen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nechtan. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
