incivility
editI have to caution you that incivility such as this is not acceptable anywhere on Wikipedia. I'm not 100% certain you were serious, but the message came across as pretty nasty. Regards, Looie496 (talk) 00:53, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- I stand by it. Free speech and all that, plus you know, grow up.Sanitycult (talk) 01:10, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well, one consequence of the incivility is that it has drawn my attention to your user page, which I see is being used for soapboxing. That essay will either have to be radically toned down or else removed -- I hope that you'll do this yourself so that I don't need to take any action. (If I do need to take action, I'll file a report at WP:ANI, but I'd rather not.) There is no right to free speech on Wikipedia, by the way. Looie496 (talk) 01:26, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, poor me, then. The right to free speech is inherent in being alive and being able to speak. Try and stop me, try and stop the world, I'm sure you'll get far. And wikipedia doesn't mean shit to me. It's a dying form of information gathering that is biased by horrible editors like you. If you manage to appeal to the law against your fellow man, what a coward you are. What a fool.Sanitycult (talk) 01:30, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below. Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:26, 18 July 2009 (UTC)From the discussion above, you seem to have some misunderstandings about Wikipedia.
Our core principles are that we are an encyclopedia, not a soapbox to publish opinions from or a place to fight outside battles. This is not the place to do those things - you should create a blog or website, write op-ed articles for magazines, write a book, etc. We are a collection of neutral point of view encyclopedia articles.
If you abandon this account and restart your activities which violate those principles under new accounts, we'll block additional accounts permanently and this one for longer periods of time. If necessary, if you keep it up, we'll block the IP range you come from. You're not the first person to come along and threaten to keep coming back and trying to damage the encyclopedia.
Please don't do that. We want people to understand what we're here for, and what we're not here for. If you want to do things which Wikipedia is not, go to the places other than Wikipedia where those things are appropriate and acceptable. We have no objection to anyone posting their opinions, fighting political fights, etc. - in the places outside Wikipedia where those are proper activities.
It really won't do you any good to come here and butt heads with our administrators and users if you're not trying to build an encyclopedia.
If you're willing to work within our project's goals, build a better encyclopedia, and not do the other things you threatened to do, then please by all means keep editing here. You got off to a bad start, but we really don't care as long as your future participation is positive. We do welcome all points of view and interests, as long as people understand what we're here for and can get along with other editors.
Thank you. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 04:47, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
