Nick Hinton

edit

Hello. I am the editor of an article for a British songwriter and composer called Nick Hinton. This article has been added to the articles for deletion page, by a user that insists that it does not meet notability guidelines. I am relatively new on wikipedia, and am not aware of many of these guidelines, but am learning. Would you have any advice as to how this article could be improved, or any arguments, (despite those on my talk page) that could prevent this article from being deleted? Many thanks for your time! The proof is in the film itself. Watch the scene at the airport and the French signs and name of Montréal are easily visible. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.214.148.55 (talk) 16:36, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It seems to have updated now. Sometimes the templates take a while before their caches reload, so they don't update immediately. You can purge the cache on your userpage to force it to refresh (which can be done by clicking edit and then saving with no changes, a null edit).--ragesoss (talk) 15:11, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Weeks in a row? No, that's unusual. I'm not sure why it wouldn't update.--ragesoss (talk) 14:54, 3 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, sorry for my late reaction. It may appear as if I skipped the final part of the GA review, but I just couldn't find anything left wrong with it. The article is very great and I encourage you to take it through FAc. Good luck with your further projects.--Music26/11 19:13, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Letting you know

I put Darius (Highlander) up for GAR. There's only really one concern, but it requires a knowledge of the subject matter. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 20:09, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

A favour

edit

I've been hosting a discussion on my talk page and wondered, since you have experience in the GA area that this humble copyeditor doesn't, if you couldn't shine some light on it. I was asked a question by another editor trying to get his article (The Bill) to GA. I undertook a copyedit but the reviewer has commented that the references are mostly raw URLs as opposed to the "cite" templates. Would you know how I add things like retrieval dates to the refs retrospectively. For example, could I myself (since I have the reftool) go through, check they verify the info in the article and put the URLs in "cite web" tags with my own access date. Thanks, HJMitchell You rang? 13:02, 26 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

P.S. If you have any more GA candidates or anything else needing a copyedit, you know where I am- I've been looking for something to get my teeth in to. HJMitchell You rang?

Never mind, I think I have the answer now. However, since you have far more experience of GA than I, I would appreciate it if you could find the time to take a quick look at the article and nit- pick! HJMitchell You rang?

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
