Recommendation for vandalism reverting

edit

I noticed that you were reverting a lot of vandalism. May I interest you in Twinkle? It's pretty easy to use and works in the browser itself. LilianaUwU (talk / contribs) 01:01, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey Lili! RemoveRedSky. Thanks for your recommendation of the service Twinkle, however I don't think I will be using any services like that until later. / Best regards, RemoveRedSky / (u) (t) 01:10, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Also, my account is still new. / Best regards, RemoveRedSky / (u) (t) 01:42, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

defcon

edit

Hello. I am looking to create my own vandalism information template. You can see what I've currently made here. I'm not sure how to create the level system, and I'm looking to see if someone can help me with this. Thank you! / RemoveRedSky [talk] 17:09, 16 December 2024 (UTC)}}Reply

I highly suggest looking at what other folks have done at Category:Wdefcon templates; if you see something similar to yours, you can make a copy and adjust it to match what you've hard-coded in your sandbox. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 18:34, 16 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not change spaces

edit

Please do not make edits such as this one or this one in which the only thing you do is turn double spaces into single spaces. The wikitext parser automatically ignores double spaces when rendering the pages, so you are making an edit with zero effect on readers. "Cosmetic" changes to whitespace in the wikitext is not a good idea.

If you happen to be making another edit to the page, and you want to remove double spaces in the same edit, then that's "legal", but it may draw complaints about needlessly complicated diffs (especially if there are a lot of pointless changes on a long page). +rollback

edit

Hi RemoveRedSky. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until {{{expiry}}}. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:32, 21 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
