Chronology
editIn regard to this revert; I think you've misread Wikipedia:ALBUMS#Chronology. It states: Only studio albums, usually excluding live albums, compilations, singles and EPs should be included in the chronology. Please be a little more careful with reading the description. DiverseMentality 07:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- In regard to my revert on I Am… Sasha Fierce; I think you misread Wikipedia:ALBUMS#Chronology. Only studio albums, usually excluding live albums, compilations, singles and EPs should be included in the chronology. The description clearly says include, if I'm not mistaken, include means it should be comprised of the fore mentioned items. Ratizi1 (talk) 07:57, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
I think you're missing the key word: excluding. It says to exclude live albums, compilations, singles and EPs, and to include only studio albums. Also, if you respond, can you response here on your talk page? I like to keep my discussions unfragmented, and I have your user talk on watch until the discussion is over. Thank you. DiverseMentality 08:00, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- The thing is, it doesn't actually say include only studio albums. To me it seems like an admins awkward wording to have exclude to start it and include to end it. I read it a few times and realized it doesn't make sense so we aren't wrong, the rule is. Problem is, who's gonna fix it? Ratizi1 (talk) 08:04, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
If you feel the wording is confusing, I'll bring it up on the WikiProject's talk page and try to find a consensus on rewording it. DiverseMentality 08:07, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- I think that would be best. I don't try to be unreasonable, I just don't know what else to do about it. Ratizi1 (talk) 08:11, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Starting a discussion is definitely the way to start, and I've already started it here. Wikipedia is about collaboration and working with others, after all. DiverseMentality 08:14, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Now that i think about it, if the chronology was only allowed to show studio albums, then how would that work for EP's? EP albums use the same infobox as studio albums and therefore also include the release chronology. if it links to the album next to it but it doesn't link back, but instead to the previous studio album, wouldn't it just make the time line look screwy and make the EP albums look completely insignificant because they're not counted in the album chronology? Ratizi1 (talk) 08:18, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
That's true, but I'm assuming only studio albums are allowed because most non-studio albums are usually not notable and don't merit an article, so linking to a redirect, a red link or not linking to any article at all would also cause problems. DiverseMentality 08:23, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not suggesting we link to redirects, I'm saying that all the releases and artist makes that have an article worth of merit should be included in a side by side chronology instead of skipping over them. Whether or not you believe non studio albums are worth an article is a different discussion. Ratizi1 (talk) 08:26, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
That's an interesting point you've brought, but if it were that way, wouldn't it be a little strange skipping albums that don't merit articles, thus not correctly following chronology? DiverseMentality 08:32, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- I think you're confused by what I mean. EP's, Live albums, studio albums, remix and holiday albums all are equal in my eyes. I never said they don't deserve articles because in fact, I think they do. An extensive coverage on each album independently. Some articles are shorter than what I would like but that doesn't mean they aren't worth an article. Now back on subject, since they are all albums regardless if they are dubbed studio or whatever they are albums and all albums should be side by side in a time line. Sorry if I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Ratizi1 (talk) 08:37, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
I understand what you mean, but what your view of notability is different from our notability policy and notability guideline. Often, it's actually quite difficult to make extensive coverage on an album like a mixtape or EP when it's not covered by any third-party reliable sources, if at all, which brings me back the the notability and verifiability policies. DiverseMentality 08:45, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- An EP (at least the kind I've seen) aren't just random drops like a single. The one I've been talking about is Irreemplazable which had plenty of coverage, a TV special, two music videos, a number one hit in Spain and top 200 album charting. I've been saying EP a lot but I'm talking about any non studio album release. Albums like J to tha L-O!: The Remixes. You can't say that this non-studio album is not worth notability. As a remix album (under your logic) it wouldn't be important enough to put in the chronology of Jennifer Lopez but this album gave Ms. Lopez 2 top ten hits and charted considerably well. All I'm saying is that making chronology studio albums only is a bit redundant. Go check out Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Albums, singles and songs Ratizi1 (talk) 08:55, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I know there are a handful of non-studio albums that are notable, like the ones you pointed out above. The current WikiProject does state only studio albums should be in the chronology, and it has been like that for as long as I've been here, and far longer, I'm sure. Even though we were originally on the topic of the wording, you should present your case of your version of the chronology on the talk page and see what others think. But as for now, we should respect and follow the WikiProject as it is; if you're able the gain a consensus on your version of the chronology, then things can be changed accordingly, but for now, it's best to go along as it says, and state your case to change consensus. Until then, I can't really do much except point out that the project currently works one way, not the other. DiverseMentality 09:09, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- I've never been to good with wording so even though I know what I want it to say, I don't know a way to make it sound like a helpful instruction as part of a guideline. Ratizi1 (talk) 09:18, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
I'll try to help get your point across if others don't completely understand (despite the fact I'm against it ), but I'm still willing to help you. DiverseMentality 09:23, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Ha! I knew you were against what I was saying. Hehe, remember. As a Wikipedian we have to be a neutral as possible. Ratizi1 (talk) 09:25, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
I am being neutral, I just have an opinion is all. We just have to remember it's a community decision, and we'll have to wait to see what others say. Now, as it's past one a.m. where I live, I'm going to bed and will check up on the discussion in the morning. DiverseMentality 09:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Request to move article Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders' First Lady incomplete
editYou recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders' First Lady to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.
Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:
- Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
- Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
- Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.
If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 19:55, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:B000IFRQRM.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:B000IFRQRM.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 05:13, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi Ratizi1, well, her discography singles does not match that of her template material, and vice-versa. Something's not right here. These should be the same with one another, though which is correct? Might you take a look at the discography and compare it with the two templates you created three years ago. Maybe the discography is wrong, I don't know. - Thank you for your explaination. Your situation with multiple accounts should be resolved with administrators simply so that in the future you dont get accused of sock puppetry. With regards to Hush Hush and single covers in general only the actual single cover released with the song should appear in the article as it is the final work of art that fans see. There is a whole section in the article which explains the controversy and removal of 'Featuring Nicole Scherzinger' so this does not need to be re-emphasised with an image. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 14:33, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

editThe reason I changed the image is because this particular cover is used in more places than the image you have presented. The American iTunes store uses the same cover with extra wording on it and even the CD single I myself own is the cover exactly as I have uploaded. It's a scan. I have three versions of the single in my possession and they all use the exact same cover. I haven't seen this version before so I don't understand why it's more appropriate. RatiziOnecontribs 05:28, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- Could you be more explicit with "the Americas" because the other cover is used in all Europe, as well Japan, US, Canada and Mexico. TbhotchTalk C. 06:26, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or not but I know the cover I'm using is also used in the UK. Seeing as she is an American artist, wouldn't the cover used in the states and other English speaking nations be the most relevant? RatiziOnecontribs 06:32, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, you are wrong with the UK thing, and just because in Japan the English is not de facto does not mean that is not a relevant market. TbhotchTalk C. 06:37, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, it is used in the UK. I'm not saying it's de facto but it probably does matter when the fact is her record label is US based. RatiziOnecontribs 06:47, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Blady
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Blady requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Jackmcbarn (talk) 01:42, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

November 2013
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Blady a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Blady. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Replaceable fair use File:Blady Group Image.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Blady Group Image.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 01:02, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
- So I guess I'm not as experienced with adding images for musician's so I don't quite know what the protocol is. Why are some images used for several artists and some pages have the use of images disputed. In most cases it seems to me that the image is being uploaded by someone who did not take the photo. But where is it ok to take these images from and how do we properly source them? What would be the best way for me in editing this article to add an image of the band? RatiziAngeloucontribs 02:21, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
The images that are used for living people, including musician's here, are all freely licensed rather than copyrighted. You can only source these images from the original copyright holder when they have explicitly released the images under such a license. Images like this can either be found on Wikimedia Commons or flickr, or you can ask a copyright holder if they will release an image under a free license. - Peripitus (Talk) 02:27, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Regarding TaeTiSeo
editHi, I am TerryAlex
Just wondering this, I was the one who moved the article to TaeTiSeo because I thought it was a more complete name than TTS, I think the group is also being addressed to as TaeTiSeo in Korean. I looked at the info box and the hanja also has it as TaeTiSeo. So just want to know the rationale for TTS over TaeTiSeo? Let me know. Thanks so much. --TerryAlex (talk) 03:15, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of U Got What I Need
editThe article U Got What I Need has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Richhoncho (talk) 15:21, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
editHi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:22, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:08, 1 June 2018 (UTC)
