If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Sailing Medal Table - Germany

edit

This is a political minefield but the layout of Germany was very clearly I am not completely convinenced modern day Germany wants to be unified with the past as you have proposed. Also all the previous year Olympics and even Germany at the Olympics has the countries not unified. It uses the three flags proposed. To be honest I didn't no how to tackle it for sailing but felt the end conclusion was clear. Yachty4000 (talk) 21:34, 23 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sorry!@Yachty4000: I assumed that Sailing would follow the way the all time table is calculated. Only East and West Germany and the United Team are separated there. Germany, competing as the German Empire and Nazi Germany still count towards today's modern Germany total there. RandomIntrigue (talk) 07:04, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
That's not true look at All-time Olympic Games medal table EUA exists as a separate entity and then there is comments about it further down. I think the way that it was presented was factual and easy to understand and breaks the eras down into logical grouping that match the flags they competed under and are used on the individual results page. I don't really want to get dragged into a long debate on German politics it isn't a specialist subject I simply grouped according to the official results flags as these are different country codes on the spreadsheet I used to verify and correct the table. I do note some other page add pre 1936 to post 1992 results although there are also clearly no genuine agreement on how Germany is treated in results tables. It the same with Russia which you have made no attempt to unify. Yachty4000 (talk) 22:59, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Yachty4000: It is. Germany is fourth, East Germany 11th, West Germany 24th and the Unified Team 35th. There are no other Germany's listed. Russia has nothing to do with this debate. Flag changes don't matter. I don't wish to get into a debate either, and at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter lol. RandomIntrigue (talk) 07:37, 25 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Stop changing otherwise I'll report you! Enough!!!

@89.12.2.174: I'm not sure why you keep reverting my edits and then proceed to redo it. However, I do apologise for reverting and redoing your edits. Please forgive me, I do not wish to seem rude. Sorry! RandomIntrigue (talk) 09:31, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I reset your amendment because the order was not correct. As a result, I then classified this correctly (in table it was displayed correctly but when editing there were errors that I corrected). Sorry for the disruption and on a good cooperation. :)

@89.12.2.174: Ah, thanks for clarifying that. No need for you to apologise, it was my fault, I feel terrible for reverting your edits! I'm so sorry! Have a great day! :) RandomIntrigue (talk) 09:42, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
