Ludgershall, Buckinghamshire

edit

Dear RH_Simons, re the Ludgershall page, I like your reference to the AALT (made last year) for an early form of this placename, but wondered why you thought it might refer to a place in Wiltshire? The roll you have indicated clearly shows 'Buk' (for Buckinghamshire) in the margin next to this entry. Is there any reason to doubt? Best wishes, Eebahgum (talk) 16:53, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Christopher Flemming, Baron of Slane

edit

There is mention of a Christopher Flemming, formerly baron of Slane viewable on: http://aalt.law.uh.edu/AALT3/R3/CP40no889/bCP40no889dorses/IMG_1095.htm 8th entry, as a testator of a will, whose executor is being sued for debt by John Ferclove of St Giles in the Fields, in 1484 Given the list of the Flemmings, Barons of Slane,in the Wiki article listing the Barons I am puzzled as to who this one might have been, unless it was the one who had died nearly 27 years before the date of this entry. < Plea Rolls of the Court of Common Pleas; CP40/889; year 1484; http://aalt.law.uh.edu/AALT3/R3/CP40no889/bCP40no889dorses/IMG_1095.htm> RH Simons RH Simons (talk) 13:32, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
