Figure Skating pages

Hi. I'm a fairly unexperienced Wikipedia editor, so I'm not very sure what to do with this situation. It's regarding several figure skating pages. I saw you reverting a few edits today, so I was hoping you could be of assistance. Pages of discussion: Figure skating at the 2014 Winter Olympics‎, Figure skating at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Ladies' singles, Kim Yuna. Users of discussion Lazeks042186, 99.237.24.96, Heritoctavus, and me - Kirin13.

There's a debate over the results of the ladies figure skating. I'm trying to keep the debate on one page Figure skating at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Ladies' singles, instead of having a dozen paragraphs on several pages. Having it many pages makes it hard to make edits. Also, Lazeks042186, 99.237.24.96, and Heritoctavus all have very strong opinions that the results were wrong and that bias shows in their edits. Also Lazeks042186 and 99.237.24.96 have been blanking information opposing their viewpoint. Heritoctavus keeps playing one-upmanship games on any edit.

I've spent over 6 hours today on these things. I'm tired. Is it worth trying to keep Wikipedia neutral? How do you deal with users like these? What could I have done better today (besides not going to Wikipedia)?

Hi Kirin,

I'm happy to offer you any advice I can. First off, discussions shouldn't be taking place in edits to articles or edit summaries. Any user who is doing so should be pointed to the article's talk page to receive consensus (which is the decision making method used here on Wiki.

If a user is repeatedly adding non-constructive content, removing content, or just generally being non-constructive you should place an appropriate warning message on their talk page (these can be found at WP:WARN). Once a user exceeds a fourth warning then they should be reported to Wikipedia Administrators at the Administrator Intervention against Vandalism page or to another relevant admin noticeboard.

If a user keeps repeatedly undoing edits or restoring content that has been removed for positive/constructive reasons that's known as edit warring and is strictly against the rules here. Reverting (i.e. undoing) another user's edits more than 3 times in one 24 hour period is against what we call the Three Revert Rule which is a serious "bright-line rule" that will usually result in a 24 hour block for the editor(s) in question.

Thanks for stopping the vandal Club 37. He has left the sarcastic welcome message on nearly a hundred new user talk pages - is there a way to revert all his edits?
