Your editing privileges have been suspended for 48 hours

edit

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

You were reported earlier to ANI for your intemperate responses to comments and requests by other editors, and later made this comment in a different section. I note that you have previously been sanctioned for disruptive editing, which is why I have used a tariff of 48 hours, indicating that your approach to the editing ethos is not appropriate. You can spend the time contemplating how to revise your attitude toward collegiate editing, or you can resume your activities and likely be indefinitely blocked sometime in the future. How does that comment justify a block?--Propaganda328 (talk) 13:34, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dougweller (talkcontribs) 14:52, 27 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ok, fixed wrong licensing. It is a historic image that qualifies as fair use since it is itself the subject of the article.(not to mention that the author is most likely dead or senile)--Propaganda328 (talk) 16:33, 27 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Said-akl.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Said-akl.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:27, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ok thanks. I was afraid of replacing it in the article from which it was removed, I thought it would be against the rules to do that while the file copyright status was being disputed. Readding it to Said Akl article.--Propaganda328 (talk) 08:08, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid I have deleted the above image, as I believe it highly unlikely that you are Olivier Roller, the copyright owner. Am I wrong? If you are Mr. Roller, then I must apologise, as it's unusual that we have professional photographers uploading their own work, and so, naturally, we want to be cautious. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
