Greetings,
Your note in your decline says "and the team does not play in the top-level V.League (Japan)". I'm curious if you have a source for that requirement. Even if that was a mistake in stating a personal preference of yours, and you toss it out, please consider:
My submission has ELEVEN external references. ALL eleven teams who play in V.League Division 1 have a COMBINED TOTAL of ZERO external references. I can only assume that they were accepted for publication because they are in Division 1? They certainly don't meet the requirement of providing secondary reliable sources. I'll add that three of those eleven teams only promoted to the V1 this year but have had wiki pages for years. There is a page for Division 2 team Kashiwa Angel Cross (asking for improvement), but look at that page and tell me my submission is below that level. Please.
I know it's a questionable argument to say "Hey! Mine sucks less than some others", but I think YOU should consider YOUR sources as well:
The page you linked to V.League (Japan) is WRONG, un-sourced and out of date. I've updated as much of the page as I am able to at this time, and I posted a note in the [WikiProject Volleyball] discussion page asking for help and/or guidance to no avail.
I have updated ALL eleven Division 1 Team pages with current rosters, coaches, etc., etc.
I've begun to try and correct the V.Challenge League page as no such thing exists any more. It was when I was correcting the team lists for that page that I thought "hmm, Victoria Himeji doesn't have a page and deserves one", being VERY notable for their Head Coach and General Manager. Anyone with a passing interest in volleyball would know that. They are the ONLY woman's team in either division that is undefeated at this time. I was trying to get ahead of the curve (forgive me that one ... lol)
FYI - the V.League (Japan) page you link to is WRONG. The Japanese V.League is NOT the "top-level volleyball league for both men and women in Japan." It is a League comprising THREE divisions, V1, 2, and 3 for men and V1 and 2 for women. See the Japanese version of the page: https://ja.wiki.x.io/wiki/V.LEAGUE
In other words, I'm not just some Victoria Himeji fanboy trying to sneak a page onto Wikipedia. They are an important and notable team in the V.League. It's part of a long ongoing process I have started. Since there is a page for the Challenge League with a list of teams in each division, why not create a page for the teams listed? That's EXACTLY why ALL eleven V1 teams have pages, isn't it? Certainly they don't meet the requirement of multiple secondary reliable sources. As mentioned ALL eleven V1 team pages have a COMBINED TOTAL of ZERO external references!
If you want to put an end to all the work left for me to try and address because you don't personally think Division 2 teams are worthwhile, so be it. Perhaps you could pass the Draft on to someone who has some volleyball interest or knowledge? Point me in the direction of where to seek additional help, or how to appeal your random, personal (not up to Wikipedia standards) decline?
Thanks for your consideration,
Phuebi (talk) 23:50, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- Resubmit it if you wish. Heck, you could even ask somebody from the Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Participants#Active reviewers list to review your article.
- IMO, the team clearly fails WP:SPORTBASIC (the same as GNG, as far as I can see): being "the subject of multiple published non-trivial secondary sources which are reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." (bolding mine) One of your eleven (#6) may or may not qualify. The rest aren't even close. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:29, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- Also, I suggest you read Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:32, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Nah, you're right. Obviously someone with the power to publish in 2015 allowed all the V.League stuff to get online. It shouldn't be there. If people want to know about the Japanese V.League they should learn to read Japanese. It is a shame, though, to leave all the inaccurate, incomplete garbage up there. I'm done with it.

editThanks for uploading File:Japan V.League Logo 2019-2020.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

- The file was a duplicate of File:V-league-women1-logo.png and that file was older it should be kept.Jonteemil (talk) 18:18, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Jonteemil: I believe this is all because I don't understand Wiki's policies. I can't even make sense of the 5 or 6 messages I just got for this issue. I uploaded V-league-women1-logo.png for 2018–19_V.League_Division_1_Women's. Then I used it when I created 2019–20_V.League_Division_1_Women's and it was flagged for being used in more than one page, so I uploaded Japan_V.League_Logo_2019-2020.png to use in the 2019-2020 page. I don't understand how to do it properly. sitenoise (talk) 20:33, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Jonteemil: I just edited my response because I mis-named the file I uploaded for 2019–20_V.League_Division_1_Women's sitenoise (talk) 20:36, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- I see, probably a common problem. The thing is you have to have one fair use rationale per use of the file. So if you want to have the logo in for example three pages you have to have three fair use rationales. See for example File:Hammarby IF logo.svg which has several rationales for each article it is used in. Unfortunately your logo can only be used in 2019–20_V.League_Division_1_Women's and not 2017-18. This is because a criterion of fair use is "minimal use" and to use the logo in each article per season wouldn't be considered minimal. See for example Bundesliga which has a logo but 2019–20 Bundesliga which hasn't got a logo.Jonteemil (talk) 20:43, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Jonteemil: That's cool. Seems fair and sensible that it (if I understand it correctly) be used only in the current season. May I ask what would be the proper way to transfer/reuse/reupload the logo when I create the 2020-2021 season page? sitenoise (talk) 20:51, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- If the logo changes, you can upload the logo to the same file page and update the rationale from the 2019-20 season to the 2020-21 season. If the logo stays the same, just update the rationale at File:V-league-women1-logo.png.Jonteemil (talk) 20:57, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Jonteemil: thank you sitenoise (talk) 21:05, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

The page File:Japan V.League Logo 2019-2020.png has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image was an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links were updated.
