List of oldest living United States governors
You should not delete this page. Before you delete it, please look at similar pages for US Senators, US Representatives, US Presidents, Oldest Senator, NBA players, sports figures and people. Pay special attention to the bottom purple box of List of the oldest living people (Lists of the oldest people by specific groups). See also: Category:Lists of oldest people. This page helps people interested in longevity and in superlatives. In fact, the NBA page gives some examples of other superlatives (e.g. tallest, shortest) people are interested in (see the bottom purple box of the aforementioned page labeled National Basketball Association statistical leaders). These pages provide helpful information that cannot be found easily elsewhere online. Overall, the list of oldest living US governors may need to be modified or merged with other pages, but the information it contains is genuinely insightful and useful to Wikipedia users and information like it is included throughout Wikipedia. would it make sense to have a Request for Comment on the European Emigration page?
The discussion on the Original Content discussion board just keeps going back and forth, and I don't see any resolution likely. Would it make sense to have a RfC on the European emigration page, to try to get some resolution, one way or the other, on the use of the numbers in the infobox? DYK for Devon Powers
On 19 September 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Devon Powers, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Devon Powers argues in Writing the Record that 1960s counter-culture music journalists Richard Goldstein and Robert Christgau acted as public intellectuals despite working outside of academia? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Devon Powers. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Devon Powers), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Disambiguation link notification for October 12
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of lists of lists, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page List of current NHL team rosters. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
Dabs on List of lists of lists
I noticed your revert of my edits on List of lists of lists. List of current NHL team rosters has 2 entries eats and west - if you want it to point to the dab page use [[List of current NHL team rosters (disambiguation)]].— Rod talk 13:23, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- That would seem a bit odd on the List of lists of lists. Perhaps we should create a second redirect: Lists of current NHL team rosters. pburka (talk) 13:43, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- If you do it as [[List of current NHL team rosters (disambiguation)|List of current NHL team rosters]] it put the right link in but doesn't show to readers.
- True, but it's unusual to use pipes on this list page, except to add italics. Is it causing errors or alerts for you? pburka (talk) 15:54, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- Also note that the NHL list is no longer tagged as a dab page. pburka (talk) 17:03, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- There are several links to dab pages on the list of lists eg Lists of Czechoslovakian films which goes to List of Czech and Slovak films. It is showing as having two links to dab pages on several of the lists at Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links.— Rod talk 18:06, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- I don't see it listed on that page. Where should I be looking? pburka (talk) 18:52, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- It was on Articles With Multiple Dablinks this morning, but probably no longer included as it has been updated since.— Rod talk 20:45, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

Overkill (novel)
Hi Pburka
This is a bit embarrassing, can you add the link to Women Writers for the Overkill (novel) AfD Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Overkill (novel). The NZ one went fine but I can't get the other two (Novel/Women) to work. If not I assume someone will come along and do it as always seems the way. Dushan Jugum (talk) 20:32, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Dushan Jugum: WikiProjects and deletion sorting pages are different things (in fact, deletion sorting is its own WikiProject). I suspect you're looking for Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Women and Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Literature. pburka (talk) 21:34, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

"Book reviews are easily found"
You removed the PROD with the claim that "book reviews are easily found" but I found no such reviews at a level that meets WP:AUTHOR; what reviews are you referring to? - Aoidh (talk) 00:03, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- For example, Kirkus Reviews published reviews of 12 of her books[1] and Publishers Weekly reviewed another 10[2]. These are probably the two most respected sources for book reviews in the United States, so I looked no further before removing the PROD. Since she writes children's literature you might expect to find more in School Library Journal[3] or the Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books[4]. This is an easy pass of WP:NAUTHOR#3 and would never be a non-controversial deletion. pburka (talk) 00:16, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- I'm going to have to strongly disagree with your reading of WP:NAUTHOR #3, which does not say that reviews are sufficient reason. It says that the review criteria is in addition to the primary criteria:
has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work
. That hasn't even been hinted at being true, so even with these reviews you added, the author fails WP:NAUTHOR, even criteria #3. Books get reviewed, this does not indicate notability for its author and if this is the best claim to notability then it needs to go to AfD. - Aoidh (talk) 00:21, 4 October 2022 (UTC)- You're welcome to disagree by taking it to AfD, but it was a highly inappropriate prod. pburka (talk) 00:27, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- The PROD was made in good faith and in accordance with WP:GNG and WP:NAUTHOR, the relevant guidelines. If you feel it so inappropriate then I suggest you take me to WP:ANI or a relevant noticeboard for my highly inappropriate action, and see if anyone agrees with your description. You merely disagreeing with a PROD on the basis of how you choose to read WP:NAUTHOR does not make the PROD "highly inappropriate" and such a description is unwarranted, at best. (I assume this section header was removed by this stray character by accident which is why I removed it so that I could be notified of responses per the subscribe feature; removing the header removes the ability to be notified. If removing the header was intentional please undo my action, which I did with the assumption that it was unintentional) - Aoidh (talk) 00:37, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- I don't doubt you acted in good faith, but the PROD was misguided at best. PROD is only for non-controversial deletions. This PROD suggests either an utter failure to follow WP:BEFORE or insufficient experience with AfD practices. Again, the deletion of this article about the author of at least ten notable books is extremely unlikely, and certainly controversial. pburka (talk) 02:30, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
- So I have to admit that I was confused by your "utter failure to follow WP:BEFORE or insufficient experience with AfD practices" comment, but then I looked at your own AfD history, including your accuracy and some of the rationales you've given, and now I have a better understanding of this discussion. This discussion seems to have run its course and I respectfully don't think anything productive will come from continuing, so I'm going to unsubscribe from this talk page section and will neither see nor respond to any further comments. Take care. - Aoidh (talk) 03:15, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

The novel "Woolgathering" should likely be under Woolgathering (novel), as it isn't likely to be the thing most people would be looking for under that term. Most readers would be likely looking for "woolgathering" as in daydreaming, or as in gleaning. Sumanuil. 05:57, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- I think it's a bit of a toss up. Woolgathering is a fairly obscure term, and Patti Smith is a well known artist. If we did move it to a disambiguated title (not novel: it's non-fiction), we'd have to leave a dab hatnote at the top of gleaning, which seems awkward. pburka (talk) 12:39, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our WikiWednesday Salon, with in-person at Brooklyn Public Library by Grand Army Plaza, in the Central Library's Info Commons Lab, as well as an online-based participation option. No experience of anything at all is required. All are welcome! We are proud to announce that monthly PIZZA has returned! All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct. In addition, to participate in person you should be vaccinated and also be sure to respect others' personal space, and we may limit overall attendance size if appropriate. Brooklyn Public Library encourages the wearing of masks when indoors, and especially be mindful of those in your proximity.
