Speedy deletion nomination of User:Pat Hindle

A tag has been placed on User:Pat Hindle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.microwavejournal.com/articles/28790-microwave-journal-editorial-review-board. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because I am the owner of the material that was copied so am allowing use for Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pat Hindle (talk • contribs)

You cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. In short, a copyright owner cannot offer Wikipedia a one-time license for use. Rather, the copyright to the material has to be released – permanently and irrevocably – into the public domain or under a free copyright license that is compatible with Wikipedia's licenses. This is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, so all content must be licensed for that purpose. While the copyright issues have been resolved, this userpage content is still not appropriate because it does not conform to Wikipedia's user page guidelines. It is intended for basic information about yourself and your Wikimedia-related activities. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not:

• an encyclopedia article (and should not be styled to look like one)
• a workspace for a draft article
• a personal website, blog, or social media site
• a space for self-promotion or other advertising
• a CV/resumé
• a lengthy autobiography
