Restriction notice
editHello. Since January 2023, all articles related to Armenia and Azerbaijan have been subject to an extended confirmed restriction. This means that only users with extended confirmed status can edit these articles. This includes the Template:Azerbaijanis article, which you recently edited. I have reverted your edit to enforce the restriction and kindly request that you refrain from editing this topic until you have reached the appropriate user level. editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Aintabli (talk) 19:36, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
Regarding my edit on Template:Azerbaijanis : -The term "Azerbaijani" in this particular context does not refer solely to the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani people are also found in Iranian Azerbaijan, Russia, and Georgia. -Although the name "Republic of Azerbaijan" might suggest that it is the homeland of Azerbaijanis, the population of Iranian Azerbaijan is approximately twice as large as the Azerbaijani population in the Republic of Azerbaijan. -Similar situations can be observed elsewhere in the world. For example, Afghanistan is commonly associated with the land of Afghans/Pashtuns, but there are actually more Pashtuns in Pakistan. Tajikistan is named after Tajiks, yet there are more Tajiks in Afghanistan. -From a logical standpoint, no flag should be used. In terms of democracy, the Iranian flag would be more appropriate than the flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan. -There is an ongoing debate on the talk page concerning the use of the Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with all arguing that its usage problematic and goes against the principles of neutrality outlined in WP:POV. Regarding to the rules of Wikipedia: -I acknowledge that I was involved in an edit war without being aware of it. When I received a warning about the edit war, I initially believed that the opposing users were falsely alarming me because the first message I received mentioned restrictions on the article for extended confirmed users, which had not been put into effect then. Therefore, I hereby commit to refraining from engaging in edit wars. -I did not commit any other infractions of Wikipedia guidelines and made an effort to contribute in a positive manner. Parsehos (talk) 21:06, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This is the sort of nationalistic POV-pushing that has gotten anything related to Armenia and Azerbaijan labeled a contentious topic, given which, I would not be at all reassured letting you edit again. — Daniel Case (talk) 06:39, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

Look at this page please. Is it really neutral to use flag of Republic of Azerbaijan for Iranian Azerbaijan article? Parsehos (talk) 15:39, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
- If you had done something halfway reasonable like remove the flag, I would have blocked you for a day for edit warring. Changing the flag to that of the IRI on that template was pure trolling, though. Courcelles (talk) 15:43, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
