Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Pacingpoet. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Vestavia Hills High School, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:35, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
Please don't mention non-notable staff members by name. WP:WRITEITFIRST does not mean add the mention and then write a draft. If your draft is accepted then you may add the mention. Since your draft was declined and this this article was previously deleted at AFD (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kay Tipton (2nd nomination)) I doubt that this staff member will pass the notability requirements for an article. - If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Kay Tipton and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you need any assistance, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk or on the reviewer's talk page.
- You can also use Wikipedia's real-time chat help from experienced editors.
- I'm not sure I'll be of any help, as I have no understanding of how "notability" is applicable to any of the pillars of Wikipedia. This kind of fruitless argument was one of the main reasons I launched Bhamwiki in 2006. --Dystopos (talk) 20:38, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Some editors appear to conflate the concepts of notability and fame. Biographical info and suggestions for next steps would still be helpful. -- Pacingpoet (talk) 22:07, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

Draft:Kay Tipton concern
editHi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Kay Tipton, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.
If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.
You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.
If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.
Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:40, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:Kay Tipton
editHello, Pacingpoet. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Kay Tipton".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 00:03, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
Links to draft articles
editPlease do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to List of nursery rhymes. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 14:32, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Everybody Have A Seat
editHello, Pacingpoet,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Simon Peter Hughes, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Everybody Have A Seat, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Simon Peter Hughes}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

The article Everybody Have A Seat has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 15:04, 1 October 2023 (UTC)
