Just wanted to let you know that I've also added your Sudbury skyline shot to the articles on Tom Davies Square and the Sudbury Theatre Centre. Of course, it might be ultimately better to get shots that highlight those specific buildings more closely, but it's a good substitute in the meantime until you or somebody else has the time and inclination to do that :-) Bearcat (talk) 02:05, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am studying this image and find it fascinating. I am trying to find a similar image with the initial surveyor information - -(1799---1807) - - when the townships of Buckingham, Templeton and Hull were created. I would like to see the info (that is already on this image) combined with where all the other actual municipalities are like: Chelsea, Val-des-Monts, Ange-Gardien, Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette, Wakefield, ----etc.----- that are whithin the boundaries of these three initial townships. - - - Do you have such an image on Commons? - - --Bouleau (talk) 15:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey there! Your photo for the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park article is great! For someone who gets to spend some time every year on one of the many lakes within the park, I'm curious to know where you took the picture, in case it's within hiking or canoing/portaging distance from Loon Call Lake (near Wolf and Anstruther Lakes). It probably wouldn't hurt to add some more specific locale information to the photo's page on Commons, either. Thanks! --coldacid (talk|contrib) 01:50, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Chukotka AO

edit

There is no discrepancy. The Russian articles deal primarily with the municipal divisions and tend to forget about the administrative ones, while ours deal mostly with the administrative divisions and tend to forget about the municipal ones. In Chukotka AO, there are six municipal districts (shown on the map you added) and eight administrative districts (I don't believe we have a map for those).

I have no problem with the article describing both municipal and administrative units (like this one does), but adding a map showing six municipal districts (without even mentioning they are municipal) to the article that otherwise describes eight is going to be quite confusing to readers, wouldn't you agree?—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:34, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, great; I must have missed that one. I have nothing against adding that one and yes, the plan is to add municipal divisions eventually to all the articles in this series. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:44, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Hiding

edit

I just saw your edit summary comment at Otto Sverdrup; the reason for hiding the references were that they were disorganized and ugly, and of unclear relevance. They can probably be visible again, but under a heading "Further reading". It's very unclear whether they were used as references. Geschichte (talk) 13:37, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • First: I appreciate your good additions to this article. I've been interested in Sverdrup's feats for some time. As for the "disorganized and ugly" references, that is a matter of opinion, and in my opinion I consider it added value. And yes, some of these were used as actual references (e.g. Gerald Kenny). Nevertheless, I would support your idea of a "Further reading" heading. -- P 1 9 9 • TALK 13:52, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
