An extended welcome
Hi Orville1974. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Ronz (talk) 16:20, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

WP:UAA reports on users with no edits
Generally, there is no reason to report usernames with no edits whatsoever. Per WP:UAAI: "Wait until the user edits. Do not report a user that hasn't edited unless they are clearly a vandal. We do not want to welcome productive editors with a report at UAA, nor do we want to waste our time dealing with accounts that may never be used." The exceptions are obvious hate speech or names that attack a living person/Wikipedia editor, those are blockable even without any edits, but other run-of-the-mill violations such as names of organizations or products need not be reported unless and until they at least attempt to edit, and you should be able to clearly explain what the problem is if it is not immediately evident.
For whatever reason, every day dozens, if not hundreds of accounts are created that never make one single edit. It is our responsibility as admins to conscientiously review every report a user makes at UAA, so we have to check for contribs, deleted contribs, and tripping of the edit filter for every one of these reports, only to find out there's nothing there and therefore no problem to be solved. That's time that could be spent doing more productive things, but you basically obligate admins to do it by making such reports. In particular, these "official" accounts are very often just some random individual who for whatever reason thinks they need an official account. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:40, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the heads up! I can only imagine how much time you spend on piddling stuff like this. Orville1974 (talk) 23:46, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
Issuing level 1 warning about removing AfD template from articles before the discussion is complete. (Peachy 2.0 (alpha 8))
Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Remitly. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 01:24, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
- It was my own AfD template. I've also asked for the deletion request I created to be closed. The article is brand new, and I've advised the author on what's needed and the preferred process to follow when authoring articles to ensure they meet Wikipedia standards. Orville1974 (talk) 01:30, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
Uncyclopedia
I'd suggest that you look very carefully at the edit history for Uncyclopedia before jumping to conclusions; the article has had ongoing problems with insertion of false information (such as a claim of a "merger" between the two English-language projects) which is not supported by the cited sources. There have also been reversions of valid contributions; for instance, a dead link (like neciklopedio.wikia.com) would be changed to a valid link (in this example, neciklopedio.org) only for edit warriors to force the broken link back into the article on the very next revert. As Wikia has severed ties with pretty much every language Uncyclopedia, and there are other non-Wikia changes to deal with cybersquatted domains like oncyclopedia.net and uncyclopedia.ro (NSFW in its infringing form) which had to be replaced with valid domains. These are difficult enough to maintain without having outdated or deliberately wrong info forced back onto the pages. Q788771 (talk) 04:07, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
Florida Supreme Court
Helped
You just undid my changes to the page for Supreme Court of Florida. I hope this is the right place to respond. I removed a reference to Bush v Gore being a SCF case. I could be wrong but I do not believe it was a SCF case, only SCOTUS case. I can find no reference to Bush v Gore at the Florida level. I have found this: ALBERT GORE, JR., and JOSEPH I. LIEBERMAN, Appellants, vs. KATHERINE HARRIS, as Secretary, etc., et al., Appellees which is a related but completely separate SCF case. I believe that Bush v Gore should be removed from the SCF page. If I am incorrect, can you add a cite to SCF's Bush v Gore. Thanks.
- You're not mistaken. I was. I've restored your edits. Thank you for pointing it out. Orville1974 (talk) 00:49, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
- No problem. Thank you.

To Orville 1974
Sir, The reason behind posting request on your talk page is very urgent. One of the important information in Dr. Shamsheer's article is not presented in the early life paragraph. This information is: Dr. Shamsheer did his fellowship in Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. You can cross check this information from the Reference number[2] present in the article. When you will click on the reference([2]),a page 21 will appear. But the information is present in last paragraph of page 20 and in first line of page 21. Note: I decided to post the request on your talk page because it would be not easy for any other editor to make this change. If you like to share this request with others then shift it to Dr. Shamsheer talk page or at Help desk. Thanks. (223.230.162.149 (talk) 09:51, 27 June 2019 (UTC))
- I found a complete source for the information you requested, and added it to the article. Orville1974talk 15:03, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
To restore information
Helped
Hi, you have by mistake wiped off major part of Early life paragraph of Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil. Please! restore the information.
Thanks. (223.230.133.231 (talk) 08:13, 18 June 2019 (UTC))
- Hi. Not by mistake. The information had no reliable source, and I was not able to find it anywhere. If you can provide me with a reliable source stating the exact location
and date of his birth[Note: I had found his date of birth and already added it], I will review it and possibly re-add it. Orville1974 (talk) 10:12, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, I think you are correct. But I found a mistake in Early life paragraph, this is below:
There is a line in early life paragraph that states"After his schooling he pursued 'a' MBBS".How can a person can do 'a' MBBS. Actually it's a degree we can't use 'a' before that.
- Secodly many people don't know who "Radiologists" are. They might confuse with a radio operator. So, it should indicated in the form of link everywhere in the article.
- Third, in the occupation column present in the infobox, "Radiologist" &"Entrepreneur" are indicated. Instead of "Entrepreneur", MD of VPS Healthcare should be written.
Thanks. (223.230.133.231 (talk) 10:45, 18 June 2019 (UTC))
- We usually do include an article before a degree. He pursued a master's degree, not he pursued master's degree. So that is correct as stated in the article.
- I added a link to radiology Done
- I tweaked the occupation in the infobox. Done
- Finally, I believe this article is in great shape and accurately describes Shamsheer. I am directing my focus to improving other articles that need more attention. On hold Orville1974 (talk) 11:12, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry, to disturb you. I know that the article is in great shape but two things are still to be done:
1:) Arrange the information in occupation column serial wise like this:-
- Radiologist
- Chairman and managing director, VPS Healthcare group
- Philanthropist
2:) Provide the link of VPS Healthcare group in occupation column. So, that it would be easy for the person who is keen to know about the Healthcare group.
After this article will certainly come in right shape.
Thanks. (223.230.142.48 (talk) 13:58, 19 June 2019 (UTC))
- Hi again. There is nothing wrong with the way the information is presented. A link to VPS is present in the article. Orville1974 (talk) 17:10, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- Sir, have you seen occupation column present in the infobox of Bill Gates article? If you have seen that then you will understand that I have asked you to arrange the occupation column in the same manner as present in Bill Gates article.
I saw that the Bill Gates article is more in shape as compared to Dr. Shamsheer's article. Is this because Bill Gates is more famous than Dr. Shamsheer? I have experienced that editors don't take interest to modify Dr. Shamsheer's article. On the other hand they eagerly modify those articles which are already in great shape. I always feel like discriminated because I ask to modify a particular article. Thanks. (223.230.156.65 (talk) 21:17, 19 June 2019 (UTC))
To respond
Helped
Respected sir, you told me on the help desk that after providing reliable references, my request on the Talk page of Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil will be viewed by a team of editors. But no one responded. Please! you respond to that request and make possible edits.
Thanks. (223.230.169.20 (talk) 05:59, 17 June 2019 (UTC))
- Sir, I have posted important request to Dr. Shamsheer's article. Please! add those. I explain in breif;
1:) Related to awards he got in 2018-2019 2:) Parents name 3:) Error in one of the citation. Thanks. (223.230.174.6 (talk) 17:34, 25 June 2019 (UTC))
Sylvia Likens
Helped
The section regarding the arrest of the perpetrators and Jenny's role in explaining the prv. events did/does need further detail, and I was intending to expound a little further there. The article still holds pockets of vacuum. In any case, what develops remains to unfold.--Kieronoldham (talk) 03:42, 25 May 2019 (UTC)
William Woollett
Helped
Thank you for your suggestions. I thought I might have to break it into two articles. How do I move it back to the Sandbox?
SoCalArchitect (talk) 02:01, 28 May 2019 (UTC)SoCalArchitect
William Lee Woollett was the lead designer so the buildings were mostly designed by him. Sometime around after the office moved permanently to Los Angeles in 1921, Woollett and Woollett split, with John Woollett moving to Sacramento to become State Architect. I can't find the exact date. In 1926, William Woollett (William Woollett's son) joined the firm. So from what I can tell, Woollett and Wollett was no longer William and John but William,Sr and William, Jr. (but they didn't call each other Sr & Jr which makes it confusing) The partnership lasted at least until the Great Depression, when almost all building ceased. That is when the father and son published a book of William, Jr's drawings together. There are way too many Wm Wolletts, all of them very talented, it is difficult to keep track as to who did what. Removal of Michael Alberto from the Medford Wikipedia page
Helped
Hello Orville1974,
I'm pretty old and new to Wikipedia, so I didn't know how to message you at first.
You have seemed to remove "Michael Alberto" from the Medford page in error. He is a very successful video editor and frequently interacts with members in our Medford Public Access community. He has achieved over 3 million views on YouTube videos he was edited. I will cite some of them below.
Michael's work (credited in the description): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiUmcSmWmjc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEgS27mWaDY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSbc8w5Kkcg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Qb4m0PDQU8&t=2s Proof he's from Medford: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MetpfzIBEw
If you wouldn't mind readding him soon, that'd be great. If not I can.
Thank you
Uber Section
Helped
Hey Orville,
I consider the uber criticism section very general, is not talking about uber, instead, is talking about the rideshare business in general. However, other pages like Lyft (who has the same problems) remain clean in criticism. This is not neutral/fair, should be changed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.131.163.243 (talk) 07:44, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi! The article's title is "Are Taxis Safer Than Uber?" The article is specifically addressing Uber, and yes, it is critical. Have you considered finding a reliable source for an opposing opinion on Uber, or a similar opinion on Lyft? Orville1974 (talk) 07:48, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to KMIR-TV, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 23:10, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi @Mvcg66b3r:. I apologize for not looking up the standardized naming for stations before moving it. Thanks for putting it back in the right place. Orville1974 (talk) 23:18, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Hello Orville,
It seems you have recently edited our School wiki page, removing important information. It is unknown whether or not you attend our school, but we please ask you to not change anything further on. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.108.117.179 (talk) 01:46, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

Edit: Hi Orville, thank you very much for providing said information. We will most certainly keep this in mind and add correct citations later. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.108.117.179 (talk) 10:48, 31 May 2019 (UTC)
