You can go here if you want a tutorial for coloring, etc.

Do you have any familiarity with HTML and wiki-code? It's very simple, I did mine using and tags to put my Hello in between, so it stays on top (with a link to my talk page). As for Fetofs, the only thing I've done is to put a link to Wikipedia:Esperanza using [[WP:EA|<font color=green>e</font>]]. However, don't copy my signature! Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also push the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Alphachimp talk 18:23, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I noticed you've been doing good work on many of the articles chosen as Mormon Collaborations. I wanted to drop you a note and give you props. I look forward to working on many more articles with you in the future. uriah923(talk) 02:02, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

This note is the only sort of props I know that I can give. I guess you might consider putting a lot of work into an article and then seeing it dubbed "good" or "featured" as a sort of compensation. That's happened to a couple of the Mormon Collaboration pieces... --uriah923(talk) 02:35, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Style note

Hi. Just a note about this edit. Per style conventions, one should not use links in section names (they also look ugly :) Instead, one should find a way to embed them naturally within the body of text. Small thing, but worth noting. :) Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 05:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Correction on edit

edit

Hi, Just wanted to mention a small correction in your edit. The quotation from Gödel, Escher, Bach actually reads "Is the soul greater than the hum of its parts?" which is a Spoonerism, meaning that an alternate sentence arises by switching two phonemes. In this case the alternate sentence is derived by switching the "s" sound (from "soul") and the "huh" sound (from "hum") to form "Is the whole greater than the sum of its parts?"! So in this case, "hum" is not a typographical mistake as you mentioned in your edit. I corrected the mistake and thought you'd like to know. Aravind Alwan 05:38, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing some junk in Formula. It was introduced in the preceding edit an hour earlier, along with other errors I have fixed. If you spot clear nonsense like this in an article then it's often a good idea to click "history" and see whether the page has been vandalized recently. Wikiproject Shogi

edit

Hi OneWeirdDude,

I hope you're still interested in working on shogi-related stuff. It's nice to run into other editors on Wikipedia who are actual shogi players. I think there are lots of ways that many of the shogi-articles already on Wikipedia can be improved and there are lots of new articles that can be created. I see that you were working on an article called "81 Dojo", but stopped before it was completed. I'm trying to create some articles on my own too, but there's seems to be so many that need to be created that it's hard to figure out where to begin. Personally, I think it would be better if there was some kind of structure to work within where people really interested in shogi and who know alot about it could get together and discuss shogi-related articles, etc. which is why I made a proposal to start a new Wikiproject called Wikiproject Shogi. It hasn't generated much interest so far, but please check it out and let me know what you think. Of course, it's Wikipedia so everybody is welcome to participate, but it would also be nice to have actual shogi players involved too for advice and suggestions. - Marchjuly (talk) 01:11, 11 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for supporting that proposal. Please feel free to contribute in any way that you can. So far, only four editors have expressed support for this idea which is probably not enough to start a new project from scratch. It may, however, be enough to be taken on as a task force by an already established Wikiproject or Wikiprojects.   - Marchjuly (talk) 04:36, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Well, here we go. ;)
  • c - a constant (both cases; maybe also a, b, d, e, f if you need more; maybe also α, β, γ...)
  • e - the identity element
  • f - general function
  • g - general element of a group (usually G); also a second function if needed
  • h (and H) - when we need another one; also for the lowercase, the increment in the definition of the derivative (which you may also know as Δx); also a third function if needed
  • k - maybe a third element of a group, maybe also a constant
  • M - an upper bound on magnitude (cf. Weierstrass M-test)
  • N - a normal subgroup
  • n - a normal vector
  • p - general prime; general polynomial function
  • q - a second general prime or polynomial function; also maybe a general quaternion; quotient
  • r - remainder
  • s - arc length (so ds is an arc length element)
  • t - a tangent vector; also a general parameter
  • T - a linear map (S and U may be extra ones)
  • V - a general region in R3; a general vector space (in that case W is probably another one)
  • v - a general vector (u and w may be extra ones)
  • X - a general random variable (also Y, etc.)
  • γ - a parametrisation of a curve
  • δ - a second small positive number in analysis, usually dependent on ε
  • ε - small positive number, in analysis
  • η - something related to y
  • θ - angular polar/cylindrical coordinate; colatitude in spherical coordinates; the first angle in a problem
  • λ - a parameter, or an eigenvalue
  • μ - a second one to accompany λ, if necessary; also the mean
  • ξ - something related to x, maybe some specific point in the middle of an interval
  • π - a general plane
  • ρ - a third general permutation; maybe also the radial spherical coordinate, or density
  • Σ - a general surface in R3
  • σ - standard deviation; also maybe a general permutation
  • τ - a second general permutation
  • φ - longitudinal spherical coordinate; the second angle in a problem; also maybe a general function
That's just off the top of my head so far. ^_^ I haven't included symbols that usually mean a specific thing (e.g. e, π), unless they're also used for some other "general" thing. Double sharp (talk) 04:38, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Argh! I forgot Z the standard normal random variable! ^_^ Double sharp (talk) 10:20, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Lachoneus

edit

The article Lachoneus has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No secondary sources exist for this topic

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
