Proposed deletion of Joseph Yulievich Karakis

The article Joseph Yulievich Karakis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Proposed deletion of Leonid Mlechin

The article Leonid Mlechin has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Page move

edit

Dear Oleg, I was ruled only by thought, that not exists another person with the same name and surname, and for me was strange, why to use the Eastern Slavonic tradition of patronym for identification that only complicate a searching, but I'll try to be more attentive and of course, I'll try to avoid a violation of any rules (only problem, that they are multiplying, and I amn't able to catch them often). Thank you for the remark--Noel baran (talk) 08:29, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Dear Noel. Yes, I understood that. And I do agree with the point of removing the middle name. However my point was not about the name, but about how to rename pages. When one copies and pastes content from one page to another (1, 2) the history of the page revision is gone. Moreover the initial creator of the page (who wrote most of the information) gets changed to the creator of the redirection (who wrote one line). Hence it's important to ensure that in similar cases we do page move and not just copy and paste. I have already asked to make proper move and admin has solved the issue. Now the history of the page show proper edits from the creation of the page in 2011 and not like it was yesterday when is seemed that the page was "created" six years later. :). So we are all set. And I totally understood that it was unintentional so just pointed it out as a friendly remark to help in the future. And yes, rules keep on multiplying and I also not know all of them. :) Cheers! Thank you. With regards, Oleg Y. (talk). 13:52, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Prix Versailles

edit

Hi, thank you for adding your name as a contact for Anti-Spam. I have posted a message about Prix Versailles at ru:Обсуждение участника:Biathlon#Cross Wikipedia promotion and sock puppets for Prix Versailles, but have not had a response yet. I think the only sock puppet on tr Wikipedia was ru:special:contributions/TangoYalin and they only made eight edits. In en and fr Wikipedias we have deleted the Prix Versailles article, but obviously that is a decision for each Wikipedia to make independently.

Please could you respond to my message or pass it on to the correct project? If you have questions or comments you could post them on meta:Talk:Wikiproject:Antispam#Following up Prix Versailles. TSventon (talk) 08:26, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi TSventon. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Besides that the article was created by an account that had sole interest to write about this topic, I have also verified the content of the article and it currently doesn't seem to meet notability criteria's for the inclusion in ruwp. I have nominated the article for deletion. Thank you. With regards, Oleg Y. (talk). 15:15, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, en and fr Wikipedias did not establish notability and therefore deleted their articles on Prix Versailles. Ru Wikipedia is fortunate that there is relatively little PV related content to review. TSventon (talk) 15:59, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your new article "Use of white phosphorus bombs in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine"

edit

I did the patrol review of this article. Overall, the article is well written, but there are a couple of places where you have ambiguous attributions that you might want to make more specific. For example one paragraph begins "In mid-May, the Ukrainian side accused Russian forces...". I think "the Ukrainian side" is ambiguous. I have marked the attributions that you might want to modify with the[who?] tag.PopePompus (talk) 00:48, 5 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Muzeum Miniaturowej Sztuki Profesjonalnej Henryk Jan Dominiak w Tychach

edit

Hi, I have another Anti-Spam query. I have posted a message about a museum in Poland, whose article has been translated into 18 Wikiprojects by a single editor, at meta:Talk:Wikiproject:Antispam#Muzeum Miniaturowej Sztuki Profesjonalnej Henryk Jan Dominiak w Tychach. The Russian article is ru:Музей профессионального миниатюрного искусства Генрик Ян Доминяк. en and nl Wikipedias have deleted the museum's article as non-notable, but obviously that is a decision for each Wikipedia to make independently. Would you be interested in taking a look?

Coincidentally, I also noticed that ru:Премия Версаля was recreated by a single purpose account on 11 March 2022. TSventon (talk) 00:06, 12 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello TSventon. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have deleted the museum article since it's a machine translation and spam. I have also deleted Премия Версаля and put admin protection for recreation for both old name (Версальская премия) and the new one. With regards, Oleg Y. (talk). 12:45, 12 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Are you a Sovak? Stop russifying Ukrainian street names please. Ukraine is not a russian colony and should not be treated like it is. The content of this article was translated from my original article written in Russian in ruwiki. I do agree that street names should be written with Ukrainian naming. You changed the name and it's great. I did not change it back. Saying "Stop russifying" when no one was changing it after the initial name in the original article is not the right representation of the situation. With regards, Oleg Y. Блокировка аккаунта в русской Википедии

edit

Hello. I looked at your contribution and, alas, I fully agree with both the wording and the action. What exactly is the reason for ban can be clearly seen here. Even in case that I would have not agreed with the ban, due to the WP:WHEEL rule, I wouldn't be able to undo it either... I am sorry about it. With regards, Oleg Y.   The Original Barnstar
Hello!

I have taken a look at your contributions to this site, and I found you have made more than 300 edits in the past year-and-a-half regarding politics, particularly the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. I would like to give you this barnstar, to congratulate you for your contributions.

I, in particular, would like to thank you for creating the article "Masha Moskalyova case", because I, too, am interested in that incident. In fact, I have recently made a YouTube video, titled Masha's Adventures in a Legal Wonderland; or, how a Drawing Jailed a Man, about this same case.

Thanks again, Oleg Yunakov!

С глубоким уважением, SleepTrain456 (talk) 20:05, 8 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello SleepTrain456. Many thanks for the kind words! I am glad that you found the information to be useful as well as took time to mention about it. A separate thanks fo the video. It's important to spread the real information. To be honest my contribution in enwiki is just about 0.1% of what I have created in ruwiki where I have started over 300 pages just about the war in Ukraine (including Вторжение России на Украину, Символы российского вторжения на Украину, Ракетный удар по торговому центру в Кременчуге, Ракетный удар по вокзалу Краматорска, Мятеж ЧВК «Вагнер» and etc.) and made thousands of edits. Since Russia has banned all of the normal news channels Ruwiki is one of the only still remaining source of truth that provide info on what happens and most people there speak only Russian language... All the best! With regards, Oleg Y. (talk)

Your accomplishments here are 0.1% of what you've done? I didn't know that! Also, I'm honored to be talking to the man that created the Russian Wikipedia pages on two major events in current history: the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Вторжение России на Украину) and the Wagner Group rebellion (Мятеж ЧВК «Вагнер»)! Thank you for your contributions to Russian Wikipedia as well!

Also, I'm glad you liked my video! I even have a sequel coming up. For now, you're welcome.

Yours sincerely,

--SleepTrain456 (talk) 19:34, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! It's a team work, I have started those articles and then was active contributor. :) P.S. Due to the fact that the Russian authorities throw people in jail foe expressing their thoughts, when I was in Arbcom, we decided to hide history of edits on the articles related to the war. Hence it's not possible to currently see it for non-admins. With regards, Oleg Y. (talk) 14:40, 23 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Re'Im Music Festival Source

edit

Please add this source to the Re'im Music Festival Massacre, since you're the only one not buying into the anti-Israel propaganda here.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/israel-police-slams-haaretz-claim-idf-helicopter-may-have-harmed-civilians-on-oct-7/

A great source calling out the Haaretz article for taking information spread out of contact on social media and reporting it as misinformation. This is the original article out of which the video used in these accusations came, which deliberately states the helicopter was attacking targets in Gaza: https://www.ynet.co.il/news/article/b111niukzt

Please mention how this is a misinformation campaign on social media and add it to the Disinformation the in Israel Hamas War article, you pointed earlier

I'd do it myself, but the Wikipedia censors aren't letting me due to article "protection" 2601:40:C481:A940:BC42:C2A9:7FF1:40AF (talk) 15:38, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Yes, this first link was already added to the article after I have pointed out about it yesterday. In that conversation I have also mentioned about the fake news content from the second link about helicopters. I have created a detailed article on those events (you may use Google translate) and I read reports with the time when helicopters really came. In addition, I have also mentioned about third link (this one) which will eventually be added. Thanks! With regards, Oleg Y. (talk) 18:51, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I still don't like the way it's worded in the article. It's completely ignoring the fact that that video that is being questioned was literally recording in Gaza. The article mentions the helicopter, but not the fact that it was in Gaza. That's the part that needs to be remedied using the Ynet link. As it stands now, it is still regurgitating misinformation.
Can we just remove the whole thing? Like it's not that notable, and the laymen don't know what actually happened. Hell for all we know the whole thing is a hoax. It's really pissing me off that the editors are pushing for fake news like this, and they literally locked the article, specifically targeting me, because the facts I'm presenting to them don't fit their narrative.
Shame on everyone else involved in this! 69.249.102.223 (talk) 19:31, 21 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have mentioned exactly the same opinion. You might want to comment here on it. With regards, Oleg Y. (talk) 19:56, 21 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

And (you've been exemplary as far as I can see but making sure you're aware):
== Introduction to contentious topics ==

You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hello Oleg Yunakov! You probably do not remember me, however, we talked back in March 2024. I have been running several experiments on Wikipedia regarding Artificial Intelligence. Funny enough, our conversation back then was related with the third A.I. experiment I was conducting. The associated article we talked about has since been merged and redirected, however, I kept an archived record of our discussion for the experiment.

I wanted you to know that our discussion was copied into User:WeatherWriter/LLM Experiment 3. I hope you are ok with that.
