so far, so good...i'm beginning to get the feel of the place. altho i do have one question about this talk format--i am answering you here on my own talk. should i be answering you back on your own talk--will you even see it here?

Soni is probably watching this page, but you can go to his user talkpage and leave the code {{tb}} at the bottom if you want to let him know you've replied (it creates a pre-made message directing him here). Just as a note, if you want to keep your identity a secret (most folk here do) it's inadvisable to edit whilst logged out; it reveals your IP address which in turn reveals your real-world location. • Yunshui, good save--thanks for watching my backside! i didn't notice until you pointed that out--i had seen the ip addy and thought i did something wrong, so i went back and re-edited by making sure i put in the 4 tildes. however, i guess i was so certain i had done it right the next time that i didn't look at the signature. my bad. {{tb}}

• Yunshui-- same as TOS -- if/when you have time, could you review the stubby article in my sandbox while i'm waiting for my it to get to the top of the queue? as i said to TOS, i don't believe i made any fatal editorial mistakes on it, altho i probably made editorial errors (i did try to read anything that was related, but, man... there is so much to keep in my head lol). and again, i will work to improve it while it sits in the queue. i would very much appreciate if you, could look at the page and offer any suggestions you also may have. i'm exhausted from doing an all-nighter on that little page. please keep in mind that i haven't dealt with the material in years. this was one of those instances where i went to look it up in wiki to see how the political analysts were comparing that era to today's, and was shocked to find it wasn't on here at all--totally missing (i hope no user has purposely deleted it out at some point). so, i figured it would be a good 'trial by fire' as you are encouraging us to do lol

As Yunshui already explained, you can always leave a Talkback (the {{tb}}) if you are not sure the other person sees your reply or not. But no worries. I am watching your page anyways, and so I can see whenever anyone changes your page. You could also reply back on my page (Some actually prefer that), but I like keeping conversations together.

The talkback code should be placed at the talk page of whoever you are replying to. It is to inform them that you have replied to them. And it is supposed to be placed without the "code" and the "nowiki" portions. Just the "tb" between the two brackets. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 06:16, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

• also, i have now sent my stubby page off to wait in line. if/when you have time, could you review the article in my sandbox while i'm waiting for my article to get to the top of the queue? because this article is so short, plus it's going to take weeks for a submission to get seen and approved, i went ahead and submitted it since i don't believe i made any fatal editorial mistakes on it. as it suggested, i will work to improve it while it sits in the queue. i would very much appreciate if you could look at the page and offer any suggestions you may have. i worked 15 straight hours (all night) on just this little page, trying to make sure it's right.

I added a lot of comments inside the article itself. Sorry but I got carried away and went to quite in-depth. Also, I should have simply made them into a list externally. Hope you find the critique helpful.

• LOL! yes, you did go into great depth. trouble is...while i agree with your prompts for more info, as i said...i'm not a content expert here. this is just a stub that i'm hoping someone else who knows the info better can flesh out. so, i'm not exactly sure how to fix or embellish a lot of the info you wanted. i will certainly move the extra resources at the end into citations within the body--that i can do. i had put those there in case someone else wanted or needed them--they didn't seem to have anything unique, but they are legitimate references. given the subject wasn't even covered at all yet in wiki, i wanted to make sure to give the key references i had found so people would know they were out there.

you see, when you do an online search on the subject, what you get are pages of references that all quote the same couple of sources--and all of those sources are quick summaries without naming the group members. it took me hours (and i managed to recruit someone to help search for a while) just to find the couple of reliable references that actually named names and gave enough history that i could figure out who's who. and then, once i found the references, some of the people who were there at the time seemed to want to take credit in their later memoirs for being the one who was responsible for forming the group. i had to go back to the earliest reference to see what was being said by those who were more objective and closer to the time that it happened. that then left me with basically one very detailed article by an outsider, and i couldn't just paraphrase that article. so, i was only able to use the scant amount of info that was common and corroborated by all sources.

• the most important question i have is... where to make the edits. i don't want to destroy your edits--where do i begin to fix it up? okay--i think i see that the edits are made as comments only, and only show up in the edit mode. so, i believe i've got the answer to that?
• also, is there a way i can go over these improvements with you chat-style so i can figure out how to fix them? i would like to get this right.

I checked into the talkback. It appears you've got to use {{subst:mytalk}} instead.

• Thanks, Doc! sounds really intriguing. i will surely investigate. right now, i'm on a mission to put up a whole new page. i had gone to look something up, and it's not even in wiki. it's archived in several museum collections, but not a word about it on wiki. go figure. so, i'm reading up about wiki as much as i can before i take the plunge...not to mention that i am having to compile all the info without being an expert in the field. therefore, it will be a bit of a stub, but i want to get most of the key facts in there in case no one else touches it for a while. i don't know why i am being this conscientious about something that isn't that important to me...don't ask because it's a mystery to me too. lol i think it's partially because it gives me the chance to learn about wiki while getting a critical piece of history into wiki that's been missing. okay...gotta get back to work.

Demis Roussos song

Hi! I have a question about a single titled "Midnight Is the Time I Need You" that you added to Demis Roussos's discography: [1]. I've tried to find a source for the claim that the single appeared on the Billboard disco singles chart, but I couldn't. Where do you know that from? • Hmm...that was in 2015, and i am trying to remember where i had seen that chart. I have many of the actual physical copies of the old Billboard disco charts archived in my locker. I had moved lockers in 2015, so it makes sense that i saw it at that time, but i could have seen it somewhere else. I had thought the info was easily available online, so i did not make an effort to archive a digital image of the page (wherever i saw it).

but, i agree -- i just spent an hour trying to find a reference online, and it's not there. In fact, i could not find the old disco (dance/club) charts on the current billboard site earlier than 2012 (i think it is). [sigh]

Please understand that i don't contribute to wiki very often, and when i do, it's because i see missing facts. I surely did have a verifiable reference at the time of my posting. I know this because i had NO clue what the actual chart number was, so without that reference, i would not have been able to specify how it charted at number 12. this is frustrating for me. I will have to go search my locker, but that will take time, of course. I will definitely look. Thank you for asking :)
