A tag has been placed on Eclerx, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Toddstreat1 23:04, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Article deletion
editGreetings. I was not involved in the recent speedy deletion of eClerx. I did delete a redirect at that name last year, but that was quite some time before your re-creation. IceKarmaॐ 10:41, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- FYI, it is usual practice for an administrator not involved in the deletion discussion to close the discussion and, if consensus is to delete, ultimately delete the article. That's what happened yesterday with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eclerx. —C.Fred (talk) 18:28, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- What about the fact that all but one comment on http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Eclerx were made before I cited multiple external sources and made some significant changes to the article? It's really frustrating to have your work deleted without much thought.Nshuks7 19:05, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- Which was never mentioned in the AfD discussion. (Tangent: only one source is independent.) Since the only discussion at the AfD was delete, I don't blame the closing admin for not looking closely at the article. If you'd like, I can restore the article into your user space tonight (EDT, GMT-4) so you can work on it further, but before it goes back into main article space, either some drastic changes in the company's notability need to happen, or it needs to go through deletion review. —C.Fred (talk) 19:16, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, absolutely you can participate in the deletion review discussion. Presumably you'd probably open the case, and then might need to respond to concerns raised by other editors. —C.Fred (talk) 03:28, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
- And the article is in userspace now at User:Nshuks7/Eclerx —C.Fred (talk) 03:32, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Jim Wadia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kannie | talk 00:23, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Re:Jim Wadia
editAfD votes typically last five days. If you can significantly improve the article, or address concerns brought up, the closing admin will typically evaluate the changes, so if you end up seeing several delete !votes, don't feel discouraged and stop trying to improve the article. The more sourced information you can add, the better chance it will stand. Regards, Resolute 00:52, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
- I would suggest a personal section would be useful, provided it can be attributed to reliable sources. It looks a lot better, but as with most Wikipedia articles, more is better. I would suggest looking up other CEO biographies for ideas on how to further improve the article. Regards, Resolute 02:36, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Indian Express Group
editA tag has been placed on Indian Express Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Removal of Indohistory.com
editHi Nshuks,
Thanks for your reasons for the removal of the link. Unfortunately we do not have even a single external link to a good website in History of India wiki page. I am a lecturer of arts and am new to editing articles on wikipedia. All the history of india pages which I have surfed through on the internet are full of ads and scattered articles. This was the only page where I found the material well organized. And I struck upon this page only through wikipedia.
I am not aware of wiki rules and policies which make a link eligible to be listed in the external links section but am definitely of the opinion that the volume and the material presented on the site are huge and well presented and would be of great help to the readers.
Also it would be great if we can have such URLs in the external links which meet the standards set by wikipedia and is also informative. Unfortunately we do not have even a single good link.
Thanks, Sneha —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sneha.desai (talk • contribs) 13:30, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Comment
editNshuks, Let me be plain: From what I have seen so far, you are an enthusiastic editor who can be an asset on wikipedia, but currently you lack good judgment about what are quality sources, and what is encyclopedic writing. If you are interested in improving those aspects of your editing (which are of use on wikipedia as well as in academic, professional writing), I will be happy to be of help as in the two sections on Talk:Romila Thapar. If instead, you wish to continue edit-warring on a BLP, making poor quality edits, and snarky misguided comments I can spend my time more usefully elsewhere, and simply revert and post warning template when you err. Let me know if you prefer the former approach or if you look at this as an adversarial relationship, and would prefer me not to offer unwanted (and unheeded) advice.
As you are perhaps aware, you are under no obligation to trust my judgment of sources, neutral phrasing, or interpretation of wikipedia policies and can use the various related noticeboards (WP:RSN, WP:POVN, WP:BLPN etc) to get second opinion. Cheers Abecedare (talk) 23:07, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Also note that you are on the verge on violating WP:3RR on Romila Thapar. Any further reverts will likely lead to blocks. Please discuss on talk page, or use one of the noticeboards listed above to get an outside opinion. Abecedare (talk) 23:13, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
On the topic of Romila Thapar, I have seen very little constructive criticism coming in from editors who were already present. If you scroll up from the latest section on the talk page, most of my questions were left hanging there. Editors who had reverted my edits did not care to explain why, for example, Praful Bidwai is more notable/correct than Arun Shourie? Why criticisms cannot be placed on Thapar's bio? Why does the article/editors don't accept any changes to the body? And so on.
Also, in the present context of the "marxist" tag, I have not received any logical explanations as to why the references I have given are not valid. See you on the talk page. Nshuks7 (talk) 23:15, 6 April 2009 (UTC) copied from my talkpage, to keep discussion consolidated. Abecedare (talk) 23:26, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- I have not participated or read the Shourie vs Bidwai discussion so cannot comment on it at the moment. If you are interested in reopening that question, start a new section on the talk page, and ping the editors previously involved.
- As for the marxist tag: Firstly note that Sreedharan is not criticizing, but rather prasing, Thapar's scholarship. But irrespective of that, simply tagging the historians as "marxist" is inappropriate for reasons I have already explained on the talk page.
- PS: I have this page watchlisted now, so we can keep the conversation in one place; of course article specific issues are better discussed at Talk:Romila Thapar, and I posted the posted the above message here since it concerned your conduct rather than article content. Abecedare (talk) 23:26, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Umm, just for clarification, if you have reverted thrice — once for MrinaliniB and twice for me — doesn't that mean you are already over your 3 reverts/day limit too? I guess such technicalities should matter. Secondly, by WP:3RR definition, I am editing and you are reverting. Thirdly, shouldn't WP:WikiBullying#Making "no-edit" orders apply here? Nshuks7 (talk) 23:26, 6 April 2009 (UTC) copied from my talkpage, to keep discussion consolidated. Abecedare (talk) 23:33, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- WP:3RR does not say that you are editing and I am reverting. It says, "A revert is any action, including administrative actions, that reverses the actions of other editors, in whole or in part." and both of us have reverted by that definition.
- But no, I have not run afoul of 3RR: see the BLP exemption to understand why. You have not contravened 3rr either, yet.
- Of course, if interested, you can get a second opinion on the above points. Abecedare (talk) 23:33, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Samar Chatterjee
editApropos of Samar Chatterjee, I sympathize with your wish to save the article (I have worked to save other articles myself), but everything really depends on finding independent sources in the media confirming his notability. Articles are routinely deleted of professors, journalists and writers who have authored many articles but have no independent sources confirming they are notable. See WP:PROF which says, "The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources." So far, I haven't found anything in the Indian or US media mentioning Dr. Chatterjee. Jonathanwallace (talk) 18:22, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Lavasa
editHi, I don't like how you are treating my edits to the Lavasa page. I make an edit, then you revert it. And you say things like I am making "aggrandizing" edits. I don't understand. Can we please discuss this instead of you telling me what is and what isn't acceptable? Please read WP:OWN.
I don't want to write an advertisement. I do want to be able to contribute to the page, but I can't because you always revert my edits and make excuses I can't understand. I'm not happy how you are treating me. Fleetham (talk) 01:29, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
